“A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.”

There is no doubting the cinematic and cultural influence and impact of Quentin Tarantino with his ninth feature “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” his most anticipated as he presents his own unique take on the end of ‘Hollywood’s Golden Age’ as the notorious Manson Family murders spelt the end of the hippie era of ‘Peace & Love’. With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. The 2019 country of origin ‘Coming Soon’ US / International one sheet offered here is no exception. Designed by creative agency BLT Communications with finished artwork by Steven Chorney this is truly a stunning and beautifully detailed poster with a nod to the vintage hand drawn artwork from movies Tarantino is so fond of. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker…“Hey! You’re Rick fucking Dalton, don’t you forget it.”

Film Description

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Movie Poster

“Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.”

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a Quentin Tarantino Picture that comes full circle, it references a few of his past movies and uses a series of ‘mis-matched’ characters similar to Pulp Fiction, creating a web where they are all intricately connected within Hollywood in 1969 film industry. Cameos by a very realistic Bruce Lee (Mike Moh), Charles Manson (Damon Herriman) and Steve McQueen (Damian Lewis) … with Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt for the first time on screen together with great supporting roles by Al Pacino and Margot Robbie as the ‘doomed’ Sharon Tate …. a masterclass that will stand the test of time head and shoulders above anything that has come before it.

Quentin Tarantino‘s ninth film is a sprawling masterwork of nostalgia, violence, and movie references. Click HERE to find out why Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has everyone talking.

Trivia: When Tarantino finished writing the screenplay, he only kept one copy of the entire finished version. Only leading actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt were able to read the full script from start to finish. Everyone else on the project, including Margot Robbie, only got to read the parts of the script pertaining to their character. Both Pitt and DiCaprio had to go to Tarantino’s house to read the screenplay. Because there was only one copy, Tarantino said the pages got stained and stayed that way.

HALF SHEET
22 x 28″ printed on heavy stock paper. The image displayed is normally a smaller version of the main poster, although some do have different artworks and sometimes come in two versions.

INSERT

Since the 1980’s most posters are sent to the theatre rolled and maybe slightly smaller measuring 27″ by 40″ and with the advent of backlit light boxes a growing number of modern movie posters are available double-sided and the more traditional single-sided.

THREE-SHEET
41 x 81″ printed on paper. These were printed on two or three separate sheets designed to overlap, few survive. Used for larger advertising spaces, normally posted on walls, perfect for huge movie theatres the drive-in, where people could see them from a distance. From the 1970’s on, three-sheets were sometimes printed in one piece and issued as “international” versions to be used abroad.
