    Godfather: Part II

    £125.00

“I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart !”

The second part of Francis Ford Coppola’s Epic and violent Gangster Trilogy “The Godfather: Part II”, follows the reign of ‘new’ Don, Michael Corleone as the head of the Corleone family. The film shows us the early years of Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) played flawlessly by Academy Award Winner Robert De Niro, and how he created his empire of money, gambling and respect. The one-sheet example offered here is from a limited re-release in 2020 when it was sown (in some cinemas) as a companion piece to Francis Ford Coppola’s “Godfather: Part III Coda” release. Beautiful looking and well designed with simple main imagery featuring a thoughtful Al Pacino in a key scene from the movie as he plots his rise to power in the ‘Family’ study. Because of the small number of cinemas screening the movie this is a very hard to find poster. This example displays to excellent effect and is presented in original unrestored rolled condition. An outstanding piece of movie memorabilia. The film series is a phenomenon, an exquisite Mafia epic with outstanding performances, Coppola got everything right, creating a cinematic event with an immeasurable influence on everyday culture and life.

Trivia: While the word “mafia” is never spoken in The Godfather (1972), it is heard three times in this film, during the Senate hearings. Senator Geary says, “These hearings on the Mafia…” The committee Chairman says, “You are the head of the most powerful Mafia family in this country.” Michael Corleone in his statement says, “Whether it is called ‘Mafia’ or ‘Cosa Nostra’ or whatever other name you wish… “

  • Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Movie Poster

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

    £95.00

“A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.”

There is no doubting the cinematic and cultural influence and impact of Quentin Tarantino with his ninth feature “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” his most anticipated as he presents his own unique take on the end of ‘Hollywood’s Golden Age’ as the notorious Manson Family murders spelt the end of the hippie era of ‘Peace & Love’. With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the selection process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. The 2019 country of origin ‘Coming Soon’ US / International Style B one sheet offered here is no exception. Designed by creative arts agency WORKS ADV and intended to complement the Style A design which features Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio this is truly a striking poster featuring Margot Robbie who plays the ‘doomed’ Sharon Tate in the Film outside the famous Westwood Village Theatre in Los Angeles.  Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker.

Trivia: Originally skeptical of the project, Sharon Tate’s sister Debra Tate gave the film and Margot’s portrayal of Sharon her blessing after Debra was embraced by Tarantino himself and became aware of how her sister would be represented within the film. Debra referred to Margot as a “dedicated craftsman,” and praised the actress’s research of Sharon prior to meeting with her.

“A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.”

With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the selection process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. Tarantino hired three classic poster artists (Steven Chorney, Martin Duhovic, and Renato Casaro, who Tarantino had to coax out of retirement) to create four great wilding posters that are ‘faux’ posters, designed to look like they were from a movie that the lead character (Rick Dalton) had made in the 1970s. This particular poster was designed by Renato Casaro for the faux western movie “Uccidimi Subito Ringo, disse il Gringo” and looks magnificent in this large format. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker… “Hey! You’re Rick fucking Dalton, don’t you forget it.”

  • The Godfather: (Part III) Coda - The Death of Michael Corleone Movie Poster

The Godfather (Part III) Coda – The Death of Michael Corleone

    £125.00

“I, betrayed my wife. I betrayed myself. I’ve killed men, and I ordered men to be killed. No, it’s useless. I killed… I ordered the death of my brother; he injured me. I killed my mother’s son. I killed my father’s son.”

Designed by creative arts agency GHAH Studios the 2020 US one-sheet film poster for Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather (Part III) Coda – The Death of Michael Corleone” is a dramatic, atmospheric poster image featuring the remaining members of the Corleone dynasty – the aged Don Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), Vincent (Adam Garcia) the illegitimate son of Michael’s brother Sonny, Connie (Talia Shire) and Michael’s daughter Mary (Sofia Coppola). With dark, rich colour tones it is a perfect choice of design for Coppola’s final instalment of his hugely influential & Oscar winning trilogy. The double sided US one sheet offered here is presented in excellent unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition). It displays superbly and represents a fine piece of collectable original movie memorabilia for a much admired and hugely respected film franchise.

Trivia: Because of the popularity of the two earlier Godfather movies, Frank Sinatra reversed his anti-Godfather stance and expressed interest in playing Don Altobello. He lost interest because of the size of the paycheck for the role, and it went to Eli Wallach. Coincidentally, Sinatra got his role in From Here to Eternity (1953) when Wallach backed out due to scheduling conflicts with a Broadway play. Legend has it that Sinatra used mob ties to get Wallach’s part, which inspired the Johnny Fontane subplot in The Godfather (1972).

  • The Irishman Movie Poster

    The Irishman

    £175.00

“If they can whack a President, they can whack a president of a union. You know it and I know it.”

This is certainly one of the most compelling and despite its three hour plus runtime, most watchable films Martin Scorsese has directed. It is an epic  motion picture that will stand the test of time for years and years to come. The ‘cast’ style UK quad film poster by Concept Arts that accompanied this 2019 release of “The Irishman” was equally as striking as it features three of the greatest actors of any generation – Robert De Niro, Al Pacino & Joe Pesci. The originally rolled (as issued), unrestored example offered here has minimal handling and displays & presents to excellent effect with dark unfaded background and outstanding character imagery. Very scarce with a incredibly low print run, as it was essentially a Netflix streaming service movie which received a limited cinematic release so it would qualify as a contender for Academy Award recognition and was only shown in a handful of independent cinemas with no general release. A must have title for the serious collector or fan.

Trivia: “I heard you paint houses” were the first words Jimmy Hoffa ever spoke to Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran. On The Tonight Show, Robert De Niro remarked that the term, along with “I also do my own carpentry work,” refer to both the hit and the clean-up.
