“His deadly mission: to crack the forbidden island of Han!”

Sorry for the spoiler but the poster imagery featured here is from the climax of Lee’s most successful and well known movie “Enter the Dragon” and showcases an iconic image of martial arts’ greatest star…Bruce Lee. This striking black & white photographic poster (I genuinely don’t think it would have worked as well in colour) was issued by Warner Bros. to record stores to promote the soundtrack album that accompanied the film in 1973. Easily the best example of this poster I have offered for sale. This originally rolled (as issued) example is rarely seen in this high grade unrestored  investment condition and represents an extremely scarce and collectable example of  original movie related memorabilia & a fitting tribute to the martial arts legend BRUCE LEE.

Trivia: Over 8,000 mirrors were used to set up the “Hall of Mirrors” where the climactic duel takes place.

“Their deadly mission: to crack the forbidden island of Han !”

Rightly regarded as one of the key and most collectable movie posters for a film that created its own unique genre and provided the vehicle to launch Bruce Lee (albeit briefly) as a screen & cultural icon. Bob Peak created the artwork and his design was used globally as the imagery became as memorable as its late star. Whilst the core artwork remained the same slight variations appeared in different countries with this Japanese re-issue one-sheet format probably the most striking as the action imagery (including a nunchuk wielding Bruce Lee) was offset against a black background. Offered here is an exceptional Japanese B1 film poster for “Enter the Dragon” from the 1997 re-release, finished with a high gloss sheen it presents to stunning effect and displays minimal handling wear. This originally rolled (as issued) example is rarely seen in this large Japanese format and in such high grade unrestored investment grade condition. A striking piece that represents an extremely scarce and collectable example of original movie memorabilia & a fitting tribute to the martial arts legend BRUCE LEE.

Trivia: In 2004, this movie was deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” in the United States and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.

  • Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Movie Poster

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

    £95.00

“A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.”

There is no doubting the cinematic and cultural influence and impact of Quentin Tarantino with his ninth feature “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” his most anticipated as he presents his own unique take on the end of ‘Hollywood’s Golden Age’ as the notorious Manson Family murders spelt the end of the hippie era of ‘Peace & Love’. With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the selection process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. The 2019 country of origin ‘Coming Soon’ US / International Style B one sheet offered here is no exception. Designed by creative arts agency WORKS ADV and intended to complement the Style A design which features Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio this is truly a striking poster featuring Margot Robbie who plays the ‘doomed’ Sharon Tate in the Film outside the famous Westwood Village Theatre in Los Angeles.  Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker.

Trivia: Originally skeptical of the project, Sharon Tate’s sister Debra Tate gave the film and Margot’s portrayal of Sharon her blessing after Debra was embraced by Tarantino himself and became aware of how her sister would be represented within the film. Debra referred to Margot as a “dedicated craftsman,” and praised the actress’s research of Sharon prior to meeting with her.

With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the selection process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. The 2019 Swiss / International Style one sheet offered here is no exception. Designed by creative arts agency WORKS ADV it is one of the few posters that feature all three of the key actors – Margot Robbie who plays Sharon Tate, Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth, the stuntman with a troubled past and Leonardo DiCaprio as the fading western TV actor Rick Dalton. It’s a fantastic character ensemble image with the text entirely in English. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker… “Hey! You’re Rick fucking Dalton, don’t you forget it.”

Trivia: Tarantino described Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt as “the most exciting star dynamic duo since Robert Redford and Paul Newman.”

With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the selection process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. Tarantino hired three classic poster artists (Steven Chorney, Martin Duhovic, and Renato Casaro, who Tarantino had to coax out of retirement) to create four great wilding posters that are ‘faux’ posters, designed to look like they were from a movie that the lead character (Rick Dalton) had made in the 1970s. This particular poster was designed by Renato Casaro for the faux western movie “Uccidimi Subito Ringo, disse il Gringo” and looks magnificent in this large format.
