Two separate sets of voluptuous women are stalked at different times by a scarred stuntman who uses his ‘death proof’ cars to execute his murderous plans, and that is represented here in this incredible alternative movie poster for Quentin Tarantino’s “Death Proof” by the modern maestro of horror artwork – Graham Humphreys. The characterisations are super realistic, layout and colours perfectly balanced and a near perfect example of a re-imagined poster. Released in 2023 as an exclusive Private Commission, this strictly limited Artist Proof edition is hand-numbered AP 1/5 and signed by the artist. Trivia: Jack Burton’s (Kurt Russell) tank top (white tank top with a Japanese Rising Sun and a Samurai) from Big Trouble in Little China (1986) can be seen hung up on the wall of the bar where the first segment of the film takes place. 1980’s movie posters don’t really come any better looking than Barry Jackson’s decapitated Statue of Liberty artwork for John Carpenter’s quintessential sci-fi actioner “Escape From New York”. This impressive, country of origin film poster from is stunning and presented in beautiful rolled (as issued) condition. A magnificent unrestored, original example of a truly iconic poster that represents a fine piece of cinematic movie memorabilia, from one of the modern masters of genre film making.

You probably couldn’t find better movie from the 1980’s that introduces such an iconic cult character in Kurt Russell’s Snake Plissken (criminally only used in one more movie) or sums up the period quite like John Carpenter’s quintessential sci-fi actioner “Escape From New York”. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so it was no surprise that this title was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “They Live”, “Prince of Darkness” and “The Fog”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 231. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.

“Guardians of the Galaxy”… A bizarre assembly of misfits and losers which includes a gun-wielding genetically altered raccoon and a fighting tree creature whose could only speak a single phrase…“I am Groot”. Marvel was taking a chance, but needn’t have worried…Guardians was critical and commercial juggernaut which redefined the super hero genre and direction Marvel was to take. Being one of the most popular subjects for alternative movie posters, artist Ise Ananphada has created an incredible looking poster. Her hand-numbered #248/275 giclee screen print is a stunning piece that has captured the actors’ likenesses with real accuracy and being a giclee print the colours have an amazing, vibrant finish. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect, absolutely beautiful and a desirable item of modern collectable movie memorabilia from a truly exciting and cool film franchise.
Trivia: The sensor that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) looks at when detecting the extra-dimensional creature during the opening of the movie is a modified 1977 Mattel handheld “Electronic Football” video game. Selling over one million units, this was one of the hottest items of Christmas 1977. The beep at the beginning is the “touchdown” sound, whilst the other beeps are the sound of the ball moving down the field.
What is Giclee ?
Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.
The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.
Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

His hand-numbered #42/100 giclee screen print is the Footloose edition printed on Fedrigoni Sirio Pearl Ice White Paper with a spot varnish finish using twelve (12) different coloured inks. It truly is a stunning piece that has captured the actors’ likenesses with real accuracy and being a giclee print the colours have an amazing, vibrant finish. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect, absolutely beautiful and a desirable item of modern collectable movie memorabilia from a truly exciting and cool film franchise.

A sequel was obvious & in 2017 “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” was released. Design agency LA have created a stunning all-action, epic poster for the ‘Final Release’ 2017 British UK quad film poster offered here that certainly wins the most colourful poster award featuring an explosion of bright colours and frenetic energy, it is an incredible kinetic looking image. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect, absolutely stunning; the deep red / blue/purple colour range is superb. Guaranteed original this represents a scarce item of modern original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly exciting and cool film franchise. Fantastic to display as is, but if you own a lightbox this is a poster you want to put in it – super stunning when backlit.

Paul Shipper has produced an incredible piece of movie related artwork, the front cover art for Neca Toys “Ultimate MacReady” action figure released in 2021 for John Carpenter’s “The Thing”. With flamethrower in hand, Kurt Russell stands ready and is surrounded by a bright white light, paying homage to Drew Struzan’s iconic US one-sheet artwork. The background explores the whole mid to light blue colour palette that exudes the feeling of cold. This signed, titled and hand-annotated Artist Proof print by Paul Shipper was never available commercially and comes directly from the artist’s personal archive. The quality of the printing is truly outstanding and almost appears to be original painted artwork. It represents a very collectable & highly desirable film related poster from a movie rightly regarded as a classic of the genre.

An outstanding alternative movie poster by the maestro of British horror art, Graham Humphreys for John Carpenter’s horror, sci-fi classic “The Thing”. This superb limited edition example is incredibly rare in any edition and to offer an Artist Proof example (this is hand-numbered #10/10) is indeed a bonus. Antarctic Alien terror never looked better than this, thanks to Humphreys’ stunning imagery, MacReady (Kurt Russell) and the Thing illustrations are perfectly realised, with beautiful colour tones. Released in 2023 as an exclusive Private Commission, this immediately sold out when launched. Originally rolled, flat-unfolded (as issued) the example offered displays to exceptional effect and represents a truly outstanding and extremely desirable item of collectable movie memorabilia with a ‘modern’ twist…“Did you notice anything strange about the dog that arrived yesterday? Trivia: Unused music composed for this film was later used by Ennio Morricone in Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight (2015). Ironically, Morricone’s Thing score was nominated for a Razzie for worst score, while his score for Hateful Eight won him an Oscar.

There is no doubting the cinematic and cultural influence and impact of Quentin Tarantino with his ninth feature “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” his most anticipated as he presents his own unique take on the end of ‘Hollywood’s Golden Age’ as the notorious Manson Family murders spelt the end of the hippie era of ‘Peace & Love’. With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. The 2019 country of origin ‘Coming Soon’ US / International one sheet offered here is no exception. Designed by creative agency BLT Communications with finished artwork by Steven Chorney this is truly a stunning and beautifully detailed poster with a nod to the vintage hand drawn artwork from movies Tarantino is so fond of. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker…“Hey! You’re Rick fucking Dalton, don’t you forget it.”
Trivia: Its title is an homage to Sergio Leone, who has directed Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) as well as Once Upon a Time in America (1984). Tarantino has cited the director as a favorite of his and an influence throughout his career.
