“Squid Game” was a un-precedented cult success on its Netflix release in 2021 with Hwang Dong-hyuk‘s psychological mystery suspense series going on to be one of the most watched TV series of all-time. It’s something of a collage of colorful imagery, fragmented shots, quirky music, strange characters, bizarre situations, and violent, gory action – it perfectly suits the artistic style of one of my favourite alternative movie poster artists – Ise Ananphada. This limited edition, hand-numbered (#52/110) screen print for “Squid Game” is one of the best (if not the best) for the title and has been created using Thirteen (13) different coloured inks printed onto Fedrigoni Sirio Color Rough Milkshake art paper. Awarded poster of the week for 30th August 2023 by the influential and well respected alternative movie poster website Expressobeans this rolled (as issued) fine art print from 2020 is a real eye-catcher that looks and displays to excellent effect and represents an extremely hard to find, collectable item of memorabilia from a multi-international award winning Korean production.
Trivia: The worker jumpsuits were chosen for their loose design to mask the gender of the workers and to create a colony vibe to the setting. The soldiers’ masks were designed specifically to resemble the face of an ant.

Printed on Mirri Rainbow Foil art paper, Matt Ferguson’s artwork for this Vice Press 2023 release for “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” is truly impressive. Literally changing colour depending on the light and viewing angle with imagery depicting key scenes from the movie and of course, center-stage the iconic USS Enterprise. The Japanese typeface adds an air of the exotic and adds to the overall appeal in what is a fitting visual tribute for the first big screen cinematic outing for Captain Kirk & the crew of the starship Enterprise. Released as a limited edition of 175 this has been hand-numbered #28 that displays superbly and represents a fine piece of artwork and a very collectable alternative poster movie from Gene Roddenberry’s much loved TV and Movie series.
Trivia: William Shatner, (Captain Kirk) who saw the completed movie for the first time at the world premiere, was struck by the overall sluggishness of the movie, and was convinced that the Star Trek franchise died there and then. He reminisced, “Well, that’s it. We gave it our best shot, it wasn’t good, and it will never happen again.” But, having recalled his reaction fifteen years later, he has added, “Shows you what I know.”

Produced in 1991 for the 25th Anniversary of the TV series “Star Trek”, acclaimed artist Drew Struzan has produced one of the best images of William Shatner as the iconic character – Captain James T. Kirk. This example has been autographed by the actor William Shatner and annotated with his character name ‘James T. Kirk’. The autograph was obtained in 2023 (August 12th) at the Steel City Con, Monroeville, Pennsylvania and is accompanied by an official Certificate of Authenticity from the event. The poster alone is impressive and when coupled with the signature it represents an incredible and a very collectable item of Star Trek memorabilia movie from Gene Roddenberry’s iconic and hugely influential production.

The third instalment of George Lucas’ original Star Wars trilogy “Return of the Jedi” contains a number of incredible set pieces right from the opening scene in Bobba Fett’s lair, Han’s rescue by Luke, the reveal of a larger more deadly Death Star, the Ewoks and their home planet – the Forest Moon of Endor. And it the Forest of Endor that acts as the setting to one of the most exciting and adventurous scenes in the movie as Luke and Princess Leia battle the Imperial forces on their speeder bikes. That scene is perfectly captured here by Jason Raish for his 2025 alternative movie poster, as a stormtrooper is chased through the Endor Forest, by Luke on their speeder bikes, blasters blazing. It truly is spectacular. Presented here in original rolled (as issued) condition this fantastic example has deep unfaded vibrant colour tones and displays to excellent effect. With an extremely limited release of only 150 this hand-numbered #21 is a truly scarce poster and highly sought after. Already firmly established as a fans favourite, this impressive art print represents a fine addition for any collector of movie posters or Star Wars fan memorabilia.
Trivia: A reason for filming under the guise of non-descript horror movie title, “Blue Harvest” was partly to put off any snoopers, and also because the production found out that if they mentioned they were working on the next Star Wars movie, suppliers would automatically ramp up their prices, assuming that money was no object for Lucasfilm.

“Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones” is a pivotal episode in the Star Wars saga as Anakin finally fulfils his destiny and becomes the dark Sith Lord – Darth Vader. This 20th Anniversary release (2025) sees the return of artist Matt Ferguson, as he is once again commissioned to create the poster for the worldwide cinema marketing campaign and after producing some impressive imagery for the anniversary releases of Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace he has really knocked it out of the park with the artwork for “Revenge of the Sith” – it truly is spectacular and one of the best Star Wars posters ever (and that includes the Original Trilogy). Matt’s “Revenge of the Sith” print keeps Darth Vader as the centerpiece, a consistent motif used throughout his previous anniversary prints, and features a fiery duel of the fates as Anakin and Obi-Wan duke it out on Mustafar’s volcanic grounds. Matt’s feverish Star Wars love is showcased in every single one of his anniversary prints. This limited edition, hand-numbered (#93/750) full-size quad style features more epic, volcanic action and is a sight to see at 40 x 30 inches. The giclee finish is one of the best I have ever seen – it really does have a freshly painted effect, with truly vibrant colours. This screams quality and represents a fine addition for any collector of original cinematic movie memorabilia or the dedicated Star Wars fan.
Trivia: George Lucas allowed his friend Steven Spielberg to help design some sequences during pre-production. This was partly because Spielberg wanted the experience of using the pre-visualization techniques pioneered by Industrial Light & Magic, as he was going to use them for War of the Worlds (2005). It was also because Lucas felt that his roles as writer, director, executive producer, and financier were taking up too much of his time and he needed another director to bounce ideas off. Spielberg’s main contribution was in the climactic lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin.
What is Giclee ?
Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.
The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.
Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

Trivia: In an interview with the New York Times, she revealed that she made George Lucas give her a copy of The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978) in exchange for recording DVD commentary for the Star Wars films. She added that she showed it at parties, “mainly at the end of the night when I want people to leave.”.

“The Way” by Rory Kurtz for Mondo was released to celebrate Season One of the hit TV series, and it is such a cool poster. Hand-Annotated ‘Archive 2’ as it has come directly from the personal archive of the artist Rory Kurtz and printed using eleven colour inks on Domtar Lynx Opaque 100# cover paper. Kurtz has this to say about the design “The Mandalorian is mysterious and iconic in aesthetic, and I felt the art should mirror that, with Mando holstering his blaster stoically amidst the smoke, ash, and fallen enemies of the recently finished battle”. This is a truly scarce alternative movie poster and highly sought after. With Mando and Grogu already firmly established as a fans favourite this impressive item represents a fine addition for any poster or art collector or Star Wars fan memorabilia.

“Taxi Driver” has become a multi award winning pop culture cult phenomenon. Offered here is an absolutely stunning alternative movie poster by Krzysztof Domaradzki for Martin Scorsese’s classic. A clever design with full colour key character and scene imagery incorporated into the ‘TAXI’ of the title set against a bright yellow (the colour of a New York taxi-cab) background. Originally rolled (as issued) this Red Light Variant screen print is hand-numbered #135/145. Printed on Fedrigoni Sirio Colour Limone Paper using ten (10) different coloured inks it presents and displays to excellent effect. Hugely desirable and a must have addition for the serious collector or Taxi Driver fan it represents an extremely collectable item of movie memorabilia from a film that is rightly regarded as one of the finest ever made.
Trivia: The scene where Travis Bickle is talking to himself in the mirror was completely ad-libbed by Robert De Niro. The screenplay details just said, “Travis looks in the mirror.” Martin Scorsese claims that he got the inspiration for the scene from Marlon Brando mouthing words in front of a mirror in Reflections in a Golden Eye.

Perhaps one of the most defining images in cinematic history and certainly up there with Karloff’s Frankenstein monster as the most memorable of the horror genre – Linda Blair as the possessed Regan. This alternative movie poster by horror artist supreme, Graham Humphreys for William Friedkin’s Oscar winning horror masterpiece “The Exorcist” is a striking example of horror artwork, featuring some incredible characterisations and an amazing colour palette – from orange to sickly green/grey. The limited edition fine art print Offered here has been signed by Humphreys and hand-numbered #9 from a print run of only 59. Hugely oversubscribed, this scarce print was sold out prior to release and presents and displays to excellent effect. Originally flat and folded (as issued) this beautiful example represents a hard to find piece of cinematic horror memorabilia for this much revered and hugely influential Oscar winning horror movie.
Trivia: When Regan projectile vomits at Father Karras, the vomit was intended to hit Jason Miller in the chest, but the plastic tubing misfired, hitting him in the face. His reaction of shock and disgust while wiping away the vomit is genuine, and Miller admitted in interviews that he was very angered by this mistake.

“Bolt Your Doors. Lock Your Windows. There’s something in The Fog !”
After the huge success of “Halloween” John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally memorable horror “The Fog” – a guilty pleasure film of mine as I love how well Carpenter develops the tension and tells the story with great cinematography, sound, and use of locations. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so it was no surprise that this title was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “They Live”, “Escape From New York” and “Prince of Darkness”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 224. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.
Trivia: Although this was essentially a low budget independent movie, John Carpenter chose to shoot the movie in anamorphic widescreen Panavision. This decision gave the movie a grander feel for the viewer so this didn’t seem like a low budget horror movie.

Francis Ford Coppola’s multi Oscar winning masterpiece “The Godfather” is THE GREATEST FILM EVER MADE with this limited edition art print by the artist Paul Mann, the best ever poster produced for this crime classic. Mann’s artwork and use of colour is breath taking, and this needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate the quality. Printed onto Platinum Etching Paper with a giclee finish it appears painted. A private commission with a print run of only 150 this has been hand-numbered #23. This example displays to excellent effect and is an outstanding example of an alternative movie poster for a film, that is a phenomenon. An exquisite Mafia epic with outstanding performances, Coppola got everything right, creating a cinematic event with an immeasurable influence on everyday culture and life.
Trivia: The smack that Vito gives Johnny Fontane was not in the script. Marlon Brando improvised the smack and Al Martino‘s confused reaction was real. According to James Caan, “Martino didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.”
