Although a relatively recent release any paper for Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2011 violent car-themed actioner “DRIVE” is extremely scarce. His award winning film was complemented with an award winning movie poster created by Empire Design. Although a huge success with audiences and critics alike the movie is considered “art-house” or “independent” and had a very limited cinema release resulting in the scarcity of the poster. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect with minimal handling wear; the colours of the deep blues and blacks are dark and unfaded. An extremely scarce, modern original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly talented director that looks very very cool !
Trivia: In preparation for his role, Ryan Gosling restored the 1973 Chevy Malibu that his character uses in the film.

Much like Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner” released two years earlier, David Lynch’s “Dune” (1984) received lack-lustre reviews and a poor box-office return on its initial release. Jump forward to today and “Dune” is now regarded as a genre defining masterpiece with a loyal and devoted fanbase. The poor box-office resulted in any associated cinema advertising material being junked and disposed of, making any paper highly desirable and collectable appealing not only to film fans but fans of the bestselling Frank Herbert novels. This original British UK quad film poster from 1984 features the beautiful and distinctive ‘two moons’ artwork. Originally rolled, as issued to the cinema this superb example displays to excellent effect being presented in totally unrestored high grade condition that represents a fantastic piece of scarce original sci-fi movie memorabilia for an incredible looking movie.

A beautiful film festival poster from the 1990’s featuring six of the wackiest, poorly made and most bizarre films ever made…“The Bride of the Beast / Night of the Ghouls / Plan 9 From Outer Space / Glen or Glenda / Jail Bait / Bride of the Monster” Each equally ‘bad’ in one way or another yet all had one thing in common, they were by one man; legendary ‘B’ movie making maestro Edward D. Wood Jr. Wood despite a poor reception (and that’s being kind) for his films when originally released during the 50’s & 60’s has gone on to achieve cult status amongst movie fans with paper from any of his films highly sought after and much prized. This collectability has extended to the film festival posters which celebrated his much loved ‘masterpieces’. The original UK quad example offered here is for “Ed Wood Presents The Worst Movies Ever Made” a British festival from the 1990’s and is one of the best looking posters available, featuring classic scenes from six of his movies with images that appear to have hand finished colour touches. A very cool looking, great designed colourful poster that is extremely scarce. Originally rolled (as issued) this near faultless example is a fantastic find and represents a fine and incredibly rare example very collectable original movie memorabilia for one of Hollywood’s greatest character’s.
Trivia: The budget of Tim Burton’s biopic Ed Wood (1994) was “more than one hundred times greater than every Ed Wood budget combined”

“The incredible true story of how the world’s greatest Street Art movie was never made…”
“Exit Through the Giftshop” is an Oscar nominated documentary of how an eccentric French amateur film maker attempted to locate and befriend the anonymous British graffiti/street artist Banksy. The documentary also featured other giants of the street art movement, including Shepard Fairey, Invader, Sweet Toof, Cyclops, Swoon, Ron English, and Buff Monster. The finished movie is a remarkable piece of film-making. The UK quad offered here represents a Banksy designed piece that is often referred to as the ‘Mona Lisa in a shopping trolley’ style. Printed in remarkably small numbers for release in art-house cinemas, this is a marvellous opportunity to own an affordable example of Banksy’s artwork and a piece of original cinematic memorabilia presented in excellent condition.
Trivia: The film had its unofficial UK premiere in an abandoned rail tunnel underneath London’s Waterloo station, an area devoted to graffiti and street art. Tickets for this sold out in a minute. “Cruise. Kidman. Kubrick.”
An original country of origin UK quad cinema poster in near mint condition designed by Crew Creative Advertising for Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 film “Eyes Wide Shut”. A brilliant erotic mystery from which stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman as the married couple at the centre of the story. Though the famous couple were married at the time they were to divorce two years later in what was almost a case of life imitating art. Sadly, this was to be Kubrick’s final film as a director. Rich colour and simple design featuring sexy close up of the two stars Cruise and Kidman. Originally rolled this fine example displays superbly. Sought after and becoming very hard to find it represents an impressive item of movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman signed open-ended contracts. They agreed to work on this project until Stanley Kubrick released them from it, however long that turned out to be.

A rare, original UK quad film poster from original year of release 1966 for “Fantastic Voyage”, featuring some truly impressive artwork and design by Tom Beauvais. Beauvais’ use of strong, bold colours and all-action imagery is impressive and particularly desirable as it was only ever used for the British release. One of the most inventive science fiction epics of the 1960s, Richard Fleischer directed Raquel Welch and the rest of the miniaturised cast on an adventure inside the human body. Originally folded (as issued) and now presented conservation linen backed. The backing has been completed to a very high standard and this standout piece now appears rolled. A personal favourite, and an extremely collectable and rare film poster from a superior sci-fi adventure with ground breaking special effects that is still regarded as a highly regarded classic.
Trivia: A now defunct thrill ride at Disney’s Epcot Center, called “Body Wars”, was largely inspired by this movie, even though it is not a Disney movie. Director Richard Fleischer, however, also directed Disney’s first science fiction movie, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954).

“This time he’s fighting for his life”
Back in the early 1980’s when the character of John J. Rambo was introduced to movie screens, filmgoers were dealing with a character that was not displayed as an action icon, but a man who had a lot of demons within him. This is perfectly related here with possibly the imagery of Stallone as the ‘All-American hero’ Rambo on this original 1982 UK Quad film poster for “First Blood”. Beautiful artwork by Drew Struzan using acrylic & coloured pencils this is character defining artwork provides a fitting highlight to one of Stallone’s best films and a reminder as to why he was the most bankable star of the 1980’s. Originally folded (as issued) and totally unrestored, the UK quad film poster offered here remains in excellent high grade condition and represents a first class piece of impressive, very collectable original movie memorabilia for a true Hollywood legend.

A masterclass in movie poster design by Tom Chantrell. Chantrell has created artwork that harks back to the B-movie horror film posters of the 1950’s. “Food of the Gods” clearly was set in this genre was loosely based on an H.G. Wells’ novel, telling the story of a strange substance that turns creatures into huge, giant man eating monsters. Showing his dedication to his art, Chantrell actually visited a farm in order to take photos of a cockerel to ensure that his illustration was accurate – giant rats were more evident in the film than the cockerel shown on the quad but Chantrell rightly deduced that images of large rats might deter the paying public. Nostalgic 70’s hokum that is complemented by a first rate film poster that’s a great example of horror artwork…including use of bold day-glo orange inks in the title. Originally folded (as issued) this UK quad from 1976 is presented in incredible unrestored condition (most likely unused) and is the best example of this poster I have ever offered for sale. In true investment grade condition, this genuinely rare cult classic represents an extremely desirable and collectable piece of cinematic movie memorabilia.
Note: The image of the distressed lady (a la Fay Wray from “King Kong”) was a stock pose that Chantrell frequently used in his poster designs ie “Quatermass & The Pitt” (1967) and “Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed” (1969)
Trivia: One of the rat costumes would later be reused for “The Star Wars Holiday Special”.

“The music is on his side….All he wanted to do was dance.”
The energy, rebellion and unmistakable style of 1980s cinema are captured in this original UK Quad poster for Herbert Ross’s “Footloose”. The atmospheric design places Kevin Bacon’s Ren McCormack in motion against a cool blue and purple backdrop, dramatically divided from the black title panel by a vivid yellow line.
Released in 1984, the film follows a city teenager who moves to a conservative small town where dancing and rock music have been prohibited. Determined to challenge the ban, Ren inspires his classmates and confronts the community’s strict authority. Kevin Bacon stars alongside Lori Singer, John Lithgow and Dianne Wiest. The hugely successful soundtrack features Kenny Loggins’ iconic title song and Bonnie Tyler’s rousing anthem Holding Out for a Hero.
The memorable slogans—“The music is on his side” and “He’s a big-city kid in a small town”—perfectly capture the film’s youthful spirit. Measuring approximately 30 × 40 inches, this highly collectable poster is presented rolled (as issued), and remains in excellent condition. A superb display piece for collectors of the movie, Kevin Bacon and classic 1980s cinema.
Trivia: Tom Cruise and Rob Lowe were both slated to play the lead. The casting directors were impressed with Cruise because of the famous underwear dance sequence in Risky Business (1983), but he was unavailable for the part because he was filming All the Right Moves (1983). Lowe auditioned three times and had dancing ability and the “neutral teen” look that director Herbert Ross wanted, but he pulled his knee, and the injury prevented him from taking the part. After watching Diner (1982), Ross had to convince the producers to go with Kevin Bacon.

“From Roger Moore With Love” is a 2024 documentary charting the life and screen success of Roger Moore using a lot of unseen footage taken by Moore himself, at home and on set and cleverly uses the accomplished actor and comedian, Steve Coogan – doing a near perfect impression of Moore narrating the story with additional input from a number of close friends and Bond co-stars – Joan Collins, Jane Seymour, Michael Caine, Pierce Brosnan and Frank Sinatra. An approach that works really well. Receiving a very limited number of cinematic screenings in a marketing campaign that coincided with the Blu Ray release, these country of origin UK quad posters are incredibly rare and don’t turn up very often especially in this excellent unrestored, originally rolled (as issued) high grade condition. It presents and displays superbly and represents a fine example of a scarce and extremely collectable James Bond related movie memorabilia.
Trivia: In his review for The Guardian, Peter Bradshaw gave the documentary four stars out of five, but criticized the failure to mention Sir Roger Moore‘s performance in The Man Who Haunted Himself (1970) (which was also Moore’s favorite movie role).
