“1997…New York City is now a maximum security prison..Breaking out is impossible..Breaking in is insane”
You probably couldn’t find better movie from the 1980’s that introduces such an iconic cult character in Kurt Russell’s Snake Plissken (criminally only used in one more movie) or sums up the period quite like John Carpenter’s quintessential sci-fi actioner “Escape From New York”. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so the remastered 4K cinematic release of this cult title is well timed. Indie artist Matt Ferguson has produced an impressive design that has been used not only for the ‘One Night Only’ limited cinematic release but also the complementing blu-ray offering. Offered here is one of Matt’s full size UK quad film posters from 2018. Presented in near perfect rolled (as issued) condition it looks incredible with some of the best reimagined artwork you will see. Great horror imagery for a genuinely scarce cult classic from the Carpenter archives that represents extremely desirable and collectible movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The model of the city set was repainted and reused for Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner…more detail
