One of the best Richard Gere images you will see is Eric Pulford’s country unique (British) artwork for the 1983 UK quad movie poster for “Breathless”. To be fair both Gere and co-star Valerie Kaprisky (her first and only US starring role) look pretty good. The original 1983 UK quad movie poster offered here is from first year of release and displays and presents to excellent effect. Originally rolled (as issued) the colours are bright and unfaded and Pulford’s imagery dramatic and exciting. With hardly a defect of note this beautiful rolled unrestored film poster is in investment grade condition and a fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia.

Rich Davies’ alternative movie poster for one of the corner stone characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe “Captain America: The First Avenger” is an incredible, retro looking piece with an amazing 1940s vibe heavily influenced by the Flash Gordon/Buster Crabbe pulp serials of the period, from the dynamic content to the striking typography. Printed on to textured art paper using giclee inks the colours pop from the paper that when combined with the faux foldlines have a dramatic effect. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks stunning and displays to excellent effect. One of the best looking posters for any of the Marvel Studios’ releases it represents a fine piece of collectable modern cinema movie memorabilia.

What is Giclee ?
Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.
The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.
Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

Mark Brooks’ alternative movie poster for one of the corner stone characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe “Captain America: The First Avenger” is an incredible, comic book cover style piece, which should really be no surprise as the Eisner nominated Brooks is a Marvel illustrator known for his imaginative and bold cover (and interior) art on titles such as X-Men Legacy, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, Secret Avengers, and A+X. His most recent cover work is featured on Fearless Defenders, the new Marvel UK series, and Deadpool. Screen printed on to #100 Mohawk Cream textured art paper using eight (8) separate coloured inks the colours pop from the paper. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks stunning and displays to excellent effect. …more detailA beautiful, colourful masterpiece of a poster for Walt Disney’s beloved animated fairytale classic “Cinderella”. Originally premiered in 1950 this superb Japanese B2 is from the 1982 re-release in Japan and focuses on the famous scene as Cinderella meets her true love, the Prince (although often referred to as Prince Charming, he is only ever called the Prince in the movie). As you would expect from a Disney offering artwork is of the highest quality and colours truly bright and vibrant. Marvellous border art of the supporting characters with the fairytale castle acting as a romantic backdrop with the dance floor transformed to a clock face about to strike midnight all offset by a night sky full of bright, shooting stars. Originally rolled (as issued) and unrestored this beautiful example presents very well and displays to excellent effect with colourful imagery exclusively created for this Japanese re-release. A fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia for a much loved Disney classic.
Trivia: The clothing of Cinderella in the film has attracted the attention of some fashion and art historians. The dress that the stepsister tears apart is thought to be inspired by the designs of Salvador Dalí and the magical gown is in the then contemporary style of Christian Dior.

An all-action bombastic thriller as only the 1990s can deliver as Nicolas Cage heads up the Jerry Bruckheimer blockbuster “Con Air”. This, Face/Off (1997) and The Rock (1996) are considered by many Nicolas Cage fans to be his “holy trinity” of action films. Cameron Poe (Cage), has just been paroled for manslaughter, but must stop a group of violent and deadly criminals from escaping the country after they seize control of the prison transport plane he is on – get the popcorn ready and just enjoy. Cage is aided by FBI agent Vince Larkin (John Cusack) as they tackle the nemesis that is the delightfully named ‘Cyrus the Virus’ (played with real dark comedic menace by John Malkovich) and it is these three that feature on this original 1997 British quad. I personally think the character imagery is much better suited to this landscape format rather than the portrait style of a one-sheet. Offered in rolled (as issued) condition, this fine example presents to excellent effect with minimal of handling wear and represents a cool and eye-catching piece of cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Jerry Bruckheimer and the other producers of this movie wanted to cast Nicolas Cage as Cameron Poe, from early on, and his dream became a reality because they were working on another movie together, The Rock (1996). During filming of the 1996 Michael Bay movie, Bruckheimer walked over to Cage’s trailer and handed him the “Con Air” script. Two days later, Cage called him and said the script was great and that he wanted to make the movie.

Originally premiered in 1941 this superb is from the 1982 re-release in Japan and focuses on the titular ‘Dumbo’. As you would expect from a Disney offering artwork is of the highest quality and colours truly bright and vibrant featuring ‘Dumbo’ in full flight with marvellous border art of the supporting characters; Mrs Jumbo, the Crows, Timothy Q Mouse and the WDP Bigtop Circus (WDP actually stands for Walt Disney Productions. Originallyrolled (as issued) and unrestored this beautiful example presents very well and displays to excellent effect with colourful imagery exclusively created for the Japanese re-release. A fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia for a much loved Disney classic.
Trivia: A very tightly budgeted, scripted and produced film, because Walt Disney needed it to bring in much-needed revenue after the expensive failures of Pinocchio (1940) and Fantasia (1940). Final negative cost of Dumbo was $813,000 (making it the least expensive of all Disney’s animated features), and it grossed over $2.5 million in its original release (more than the original grosses of “Pinocchio” and “Fantasia” combined).

Striking example of perhaps one of the most memorable and recognisable film posters to come out of the 60’s…Dennis Hopper’s cult hugely influential motorbike road movie “Easy Rider”. Fantastic design and use of bold colours (deep black, bright yellow and red livery in this case) which literally do ‘pop’ out from from the paper of this stunning original British film poster. Beautifully rendered imagery of lead character Wyatt (Peter Fonda). Originally folded (as issued) this original unrestored UK quad film poster is from 1969 (first year of release in Britain) and is a very rare find in this high grade condition and represents a very collectable and desirable example of original film memorabilia for one of the defining cultural movies of the psychedelic 60’s appealing to film and motorcycle collectors…The ultimate ‘road’ movie !
Trivia: Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda did not write a full script for the movie, and made most of it up as they went along. They didn’t hire a crew, but instead picked up hippies at communes across the country, and used friends and passers-by to hold the cameras, and were drunk and stoned most of the time.
