“Heroes. Giants. Villains. Wizards. True Love. – Not just your basic, average, everyday, ordinary, run-of-the-mill, ho-hum fairy tale.”

A very COOL poster for a much loved action adventure fantasy romance.  This originalThe Princess Bride” movie poster has it all; amazing artwork by Steve Crisp for Hat ART Design, great detail & super colours. It is also very rare and one of the scarcest movie posters from the 80’s to find. The original UK quad movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1987 and displays to excellent effect. Originally rolled (as issued) it is presented in beautiful near perfect unrestored condition and could truly be considered investment grade quality – it’s the best example of this poster I have ever offered for sale. A genuinely rare fantasy classic cinema poster that represents extremely desirable and collectable movie memorabilia, especially if you are a fan of Heroes, Giants, Wizards & True Love (& let’s face it who isn’t).

Trivia: According to author William Goldman, when he was first trying to get the movie made in the 1970s, a then-unknown Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to play Fezzik, and he was strongly being considered because Goldman could never get his first choice, André the Giant, to read for the role. By the time the movie was made about twelve years later, Schwarzenegger was such a big star they could not afford him. Andre was cast after all, and the two big men had gone on to become friends.

“The Terrible Northmen…Sailing on Dragon Ships Like Serpents on the Sea! Shouting a Battle-Cry to Their Awesome God of War, Odin!”.

A personal favourite and up there for me with “Jason and the Argonauts” as one of the greatest (and most colourful) action, adventure movies of all-time, with both boasting a superb poster and hat statement is illustrated here with a magnificent, original 1958 UK Quad movie poster for Richard Fleischer’s  “The Vikings”. At one point when he did fall in the icy water he calmly swam over to the camera boat and asked if they had gotten good shots. He then swam back to the Viking longboat. Fleischer noted they were watching and filming an activity that had not been done in 1000 years.

    Time After Time

    £145.00

“Imagine! A scientific genius named H.G. Wells stalks a criminal genius named Jack the Ripper across time itself, in the most ingenious thriller of our time…”

One of the best time-travel romps ever made and a personal favourite for a bit of me time “Time After Time” sees inventor and writer H.G. Wells pursue the notorious London serial killer Jack the Ripper through time from Victorian England to late 1970’s San Francisco. The British UK quad film poster that accompanied its release is a clever design from first year of release, 1979 and features a stop watch transforming into a digital clock and a top hat and tails attired Wells’ taking on the appearance of a 1970’s attired man. Originally folded (as issued) this excellent unrestored example displays superbly with only minimal age and handling wear that represents a fine item of collectable film movie memorabilia.

  • True Lies Alternative Movie Poster

    True Lies

    £225.00

“Let’s face it, Harry. The ‘Vette gets ’em wet.”

“True Lies” is rightly regarded as one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s best movies. Reuniting with James Cameron and a quality supporting cast – including Charlton Heston, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton and a standout performance from Jamie Lee Curtis; it really is a hugely enjoyable all-action espionage romp. That excitement and vibe is clearly represented here in this 2019 private commission screen print by Dave Merrell. Merrell beautifully portrays Schwarzenegger, Curtis and Dushku (plus a mean looking corvettte) with some incredible realistic likenesses against a backdrop of action packed imagery. This very limited release of only 45, has been hand-numbered #22 in pencil and is offered in rolled, unfolded (as issued) condition that displays and presents to excellent effect – the fifteen (15) coloured inks are vibrant creating an effect where the colours truly pop from the paper. A truly outstanding art print that represents a super fun item and great looking piece of modern cinematic memorabilia.

TRIVIA: James Cameron personally called Charlton Heston to offer him the role of Trilby. When Heston asked why, Cameron responded: I needed someone who can intimidate Arnold Schwarzenegger.
