Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
£75.00
“Indiana Jones, this is one night you’ll never forget. This is the night I slipped right through your fingers. Sleep tight and pleasant dreams. I could’ve been your greatest adventure”
Darker and more serious in tone and content than its pedecessor, Czech illustrator Milan Pecak’s beautifully imagined artwork certainly reinforces that trait for Steven Spielberg’s 1984 “Raiders” sequel “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom“. This original Czechoslovakian cinematic offering highlights our fedora wearing, bull-whip wielding hero, Indiana Jones as a beacon of light surrounded by the darkness of a glowering red-eyed gigantic skull. From first year of Czech release the originally rolled (as issued), unrestored example offered here has minimal handling and displays & presents to excellent effect with vibrant unfaded colours. It represents a fantastic item of eye-pleasing collectable movie memorabilia with a twist and an interesting alternative to the more conventional British or American posters for the title.
Trivia: Mola Ram’s chantings of “Maaro maaro sooar ko, chamdi nocho pee lo khoon” literally translated from Hindi is “Kill, Kill the pig, flay his skin, drink his blood”. This is similar to the chant from William Golding’s “Lord of the Flies”.
