“Higher ! Further ! Faster !”
An absolutely stunning piece of alternative movie poster art by Matt Taylor. This is a sold out screen print for the Marvel Studios release “Captain Marvel” released by Mondo in 2019. The character depicted is the cosmically powered super-heroine Carol Danvers sporting her red, white, and blue Earth uniform. This is a hand numbered regular edition of 1725 with this being #1008. Originally flat & unfolded (as issued) this superb example displays to impressive effect (honestly the photo does not do this justice…needs to be seen), perfectly suited to this portrait format. Captain Marvel AKA Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) looks truly cosmic and takes centre stage in a full on ‘power’ pose. Very cool and very collectable this exceptional looking piece represents a fantastic item of ‘modern’ super-hero movie memorabilia.
Trivia: This was the twenty-first film to be released by Marvel Studios for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first to have a female lead being released at cinemas on International Women’s Day.

“After crashing an experimental aircraft, Air Force pilot Carol Danvers is discovered by the Kree and trained as a member of the elite Starforce Military under the command of her mentor Yon-Rogg. Six years later, after escaping to Earth while under attack by the Skrulls, Danvers begins to discover there’s more to her past. With help from S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury, they set out to unravel the truth.”
“Captain Marvel“ had a different style to the basic superhero movie, with less action and fighting and more emotional development each character grew as the movie went on, most notable was Brie Larson‘s Captain Marvel as her character learnt who she was whilst you did as well (although this meant at the start of the film her character had an almost cocky robotic personality). The movie had some great comedy thrown in throughout whilst also having some nice emotional scenes that helped the audience connect with characters. The visual effects were outstanding and this combined with well thought out and engaging action/fight scenes meant the movie had you amazed at each heroic feat that occurs.

Trivia: Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson) were digitally de-aged in order for their characters to look like their younger selves, since the movie is set in 1995. This was the first time Marvel did de-aging of characters for an entire movie. They previously used this tactic in Ant-Man (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (2017), and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), but only for flashback scenes. They also did it to Tony Stark when he was presenting to his college with his parents right before they died.
