    “You’ll Die Laughing !”

    A striking movie poster that’s a well fitting design for this dark comedic horror “Stitches”. Designed by creative arts agency OC this British UK quad from 2012 is a great looking poster focuses on Ross Noble in full clown make-up as the dis-figured titular serial killer ‘Stitches’. A very creepy and eye-catching image. Although designed to look like a battered and distressed, it is printed on a heavier stock paper (which enhances and gives the muted colours a real depth) it actually presents near perfectly being originally rolled (as issued) and is genuinely scarce with very limited showings in a small number of ‘art-house’ & ‘specialist’ cinemas. A memorable piece of ‘modern’ horror film memorabilia that is hugely collectable encompassing not just movie fans but also the horror art marketplace and fans of the comedian Ross Noble.

    Trivia: The medication that Tommy takes to relieve anxiety is called “Hypnocil”, the same name as the medication used to suppress dreams in the Nightmare on Elm Street series.

    “Synthetic kryptonite laced with tobacco tar splits Superman in two: good Clark Kent and bad Man of Steel.”

    The third entry in the Salkind’s ‘Superman’ canon sees Richard Lester’s more comedic action touch as Christopher Reeve again dons the red cape in the 1983 release “Superman III”. Humour is largely provided by an excellent over the top performance (in reality just playing himself) by comic genius Richard Pryor as computer genius Gus Gorman. And it is Reeve and Pryor who feature prominently on this British UK quad film poster. The colourful all-action design sees Superman in full flight smashing his way to defeat the ‘villain’ Gus’ ‘super-computer’ Gorman From first year of release (1983) this rare folded (as issued) example displays and presents to excellent effect with only very minimal handling wear. Beautiful artwork and vivid unfaded colours this is an exceptional unrestored  example of very collectable original movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: According to Ilya Salkind, an earlier version of the script included the comic book villains Brainiac and Mr. Mxyzptlk teaming up, and Superman meeting his cousin, Supergirl, which would lead to the potential Supergirl spin-off.

The original UK quad film poster to accompany the release features the ‘Devil-Gate Drive’ rocker in all her glam-glory with a striking retro image. The advertising campaign for the movie was very low key and the UK film posters that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release are truly scarce. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays as new…a fantastic collectable item of music, film and cultural  memorabilia  presented in excellent condition.

    “The Beatles: Eight Days A Week (The Touring Years)” is an outstanding documentary that features footage of the heady concert years of 1963 to 1966 when the band became a worldwide cultural phenomena topping them all. Furthermore, it also follows how the ‘Fab Four’ began to change and grow while the excitement of ‘Beatlemania’ began to sour their lives into an intolerable slog they needed to escape from.  A mesmeric and engrossing rock documentary film for one of the greatest and most influential bands of all time. With a very limited release & showing in only a handful of independent and art-house cinemas the advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce.     After the huge success of Halloween John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally creepy horror The Fog. Taking creepy imagery from the movie the US one-sheet  features silhouetted zombie pirates in a ‘fog’ filed room. The original movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1980 and displays to excellent effect. Originally folded (as issued) it is presented in unrestored condition with only minimal handling wear. Great horror imagery on a genuinely rare cult classic from the Carpenter archives that represents extremely desirable and collectable movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: Although this was essentially a low budget independent movie, John Carpenter chose to shoot the movie in anamorphic widescreen Panavision. This decision gave the movie a grander feel for the viewer so this didn’t seem like a low budget horror movie.

    Alternative movie poster artist Ice Ananphada has created a truly beautiful looking movie poster for Wes Anderson’s best film to date, the multi Oscar winning 2014 production “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. Released in 2015 as a private commission this limited edition print is hand-numbered #61/65. Printed on dur-o-tone butcher white art paper using 15 colour inks (which includes two metallics) and featuring the star-studded cast and titular hotel, Ananphada’s colour palette, line work and detailing is incredible – it  looks quite amazing.  Originally rolled (as issued) this displays to excellent effect and is a fine example of collectable modern movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: Ralph Fiennes partly based his character’s vocal traits on English comic actor Leonard Rossiter.
