Steven Shainberg’s multi award winning and controversial film “Secretary” certainly caused a few eyebrows to be raised when released in 2002 dealing with a master/slave relationship of an unlikely couple played by James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Award winning film poster design courtesy of BLT Communications. The poster campaign artwork for Martin Scorsese’s 2008 ‘Rolling Stones’ documentary “Shine A Light” is outstanding. Live action black and white imagery of the band is the major feature of great looking poster. An highly entertaining and engrossing music documentary film for one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time. Showing in only a handful of independent and art-house cinemas the advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce. This originally rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect and certainly looks impressive and represents a fantastic item of original collectable music and movie memorabilia.
Trivia: As Keith Richards sings “You Got the Silver”, he wears a trench-coat with a pirate pin on the collar. This is a gift from working on “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007).”

Jonathan Demme’s “The Silence of the Lambs” is one of the best horror thriller movies ever made; excellent Award winning performances, full of dark humour and gory thrills. This original pair of 1991 British double crowns features a design by Marcus Silversides commissioned by the design agency BLT Communications which really is two clever and visually stunning pieces of complementing artwork with an amazing use of colour (white and pale colour tones for Clarice and deep, blood red for Lecter) and imagery featuring skull adorned winged moths over both Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal Lecter) and Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) leading characters’ mouths. Presented in very good condition these rolled (as issued) examples display superbly and represent fine pieces of original cinematic movie memorabilia.

Trivia: When Sir Anthony Hopkins found out that he was cast as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, based on his performance as Dr. Frederick Treves in The Elephant Man (1980), he questioned director Jonathan Demme, and said “But Dr. Treves was a good man”, to which Demme replied “So is Lecter, he is a good man too. Just trapped in an insane mind.”

…An original 2008 UK Quad movie poster for Danny Boyle’s multi oscar winning modern fairytale “Slumdog Millionaire”…A great looking poster from one of the best film’s in recent years.
“To Cut a Long Story Short”…It’s not many films that get a a London premiere at the Royal Albert Hall, but then it’s not every film that tells the story of meteoric rise, fall and ultimate reunion of new romantic pop sensations, Spandau Ballet. The advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce. It really is a great snap shot of the 80’s image of the band from their first visit to New York. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays as new. Never commercially available the posters for this release are unbelievably scarce…fantastic item of Spandau Ballet / New Romantics / film / cultural memorabilia presented in investment grade condition !

“Get Ready For Rush Hour”
Designed by Dan Chapman this is an original 1994 UK Quad film poster for Jan De Bont’s exceedingly fast paced bomb on a bus actioner “Speed”. A true box-office blockbuster this movie quickly became an action classic spawning a sequal and acting as a template for many films since. In the same way “Die Hard” launched Bruce Willis as a credible action hero the same can be said of “Speed” and Keanu Reeves. This impressive, all-action film poster displays to excellent effect being originally rolled (as issued) with bright, unfaded colours and eye-catching imagery that represents a great piece of original cinematic movie memorabilia from the movie that launched the career of John Wick & Neo.
Trivia: The film was released one week before O.J. Simpson led Los Angeles police on a chase in a white Bronco after he was suspected of murder. After the Bronco chase, many audiences who saw the film in theaters noticed how closely scenes from the film resembled the real-life Bronco chase, including media coverage and aerial shots of Los Angeles freeways.

Original 1982 Japanese B2 movie poster for the best original series Star Trek movie ever “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”. Originally rolled (as issued) this fantastic looking poster displays to excellent effect with no fold lines, lovely deep, unfaded colours and fantastic photo-montage imagery featuring all the key cast members, Kirk, Spock and the crew of USS Enterprise never looked better. A fine piece of sci-fi movie memorabilia and one of the best looking and most collectable film posters for the much loved franchise.
Trivia: The famous “Space, the final frontier” monologue is heard for the first time since Star Trek (1966), now narrated by Leonard Nimoy, however this has been changed slightly. Instead of saying, “…its five-year mission…” and “to seek out new life,” this now says, “her ongoing mission…” and “to seek out new lifeforms”.
