An outstanding modern reimagined film poster for a true cinematic classic. A limited edition alternative movie poster by Laurent Durieux to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Jean-Luc Godard’s masterpiece “Le Mepris” (Contempt). The unmistakable style of Durieux makes for a truly outstanding art print. Signed by Durieux (full signature) and hand-numbered 17 from a print run of 150, with a beautiful, subtle colour palette, this rolled (as issued) poster displays and presents to excellent effect and represents a super rare & sought item of movie memorabilia.
Trivia: In the audio commentary for Taxi Driver (1976), Martin Scorsese stated that this is his favorite Jean-Luc Godard film.

A rare original country of origin 1985 UK quad film poster for Chris Bernard’s “Letter To Brezhnev” designed and illustrated by the British punk illustrator and designer, Jamie Reid, the artist responsible for most of the Sex Pistols’ influential graphics. This poster is featured in Sim Branaghan’s excellent book British Film Posters. He says of the poster and Palace Pictures – “The British producer and distributor, Palace pictures, maintained a higher design standard than most with the poster for Letter to Brezhnev one of the very last genuinely distinctive artist-designed British film posters”. Originally folded (as issued) this excellent example presents exceptionally well and represents a fine piece of collectable memorabilia from one of Punk’s best known artists.
Trivia: The script was written in only two weeks and the film was shot in three weeks.

A country of origin US One Sheet from original year of release, 1987 for Joel Schumacher’s classic 1980s vampire flick – “The Lost Boys”. Designed by Intralink Film Graphic Design and with artwork by John Alvin this is a very striking original movie poster featuring the teen vampires in all their undead glory presented in muted grey stones against a bright, blood red background. Originally rolled (as issued) this example presents to excellent effect and represents a fantastic piece of original cinematic memorabilia for this super popular movie…“Something I never could stomach about Santa Carla, all the damn vampires!”
Trivia: In the cave of the Lost Boys, you can see a poster of Jim Morrison, who recorded the original version of “People are Strange” with The Doors. Also, when Star and Laddie are being carried into Sam’s room, you can see a poster of Echo & The Bunnymen, who recorded the version used in the movie.

Original Gramercy Pictures country of origin, one-sheet movie poster for the slapstick Kevin Smith romantic comedy, “Mallrats” starring Shannen Doherty, Jeremy London, Claire Forlani and Jason Lee. All of whom are featured on this 1995 comic book style film poster by Drew Struzan. This is the story of two friends who both lose their girlfriends on the same day and spend the rest of the day hanging out in a local mall with their wacky friends. With a clever design, Struzan does a great job of representing the characters, making them instantly recognisable; the addition of Stan Lee is a nice touch and he looks particularly cool. It displays to excellent effect and is presented in unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition. A rare high grade item of movie memorabilia for a very collectable ‘cult’ comedy film.
Trivia: Brodie’s comic book collection seen in the movie was director Kevin Smith‘s collection at the time (which has grown considerably since). The collection is what Smith was able to purchase back after selling his original collection to finance production of Clerks (1994).

A classic and scarce original 2019 BFI 50th Anniversary 4K release British UK quad film poster for John Schlesinger’s multi Award winning “Midnight Cowboy”, still the only X-Rated movie to win an Oscar. It was nominated for seven and won three including Best Director for John Schlesinger which was an (then) unheard of return for an ‘X’ film. Beautiful distinctive character imagery; a great black & white character shot of ‘Ratso’ (Dustin Hoffman and ‘Joe’ (Jon Voight). Originally rolled (as issued) this example displays and presents to excellent effect with pure bright white background and crisp colour imagery. Showing in only a handful of independent and art-house cinemas the advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly hard to find with this fine example representing an impressive item of collectable original cinematic memorabilia.
Trivia: Dustin Hoffman kept pebbles in his shoe to ensure his limp would be consistent from shot to shot.

“Let the festivities begin”
Titled “The May Queen” this impressive giclee art print inspired by Ari Aster’s cult classic horror film “MidSommar” features the beautiful and intricate artwork of Ukrainian artist Ann Bembi, who’s photo-realistic style perfectly suits the content. With shades of “Wicker Man” the bright colours and sea of flowers can’t hide the anguish and fear of lead actress Florence Pugh (Dani). A lovely alternative movie poster for this slow-burn pagan horror that has a rapidly growing cult following. Available for a strictly limited one-hour time window on April 5th 2022 when 580 were ordered, with the poster here being hand-numbered #222. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents and displays to excellent effect and represents an outstanding piece of horror genre movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The practice of ättestupa is effectively a myth. As depicted in the movie, the elderly were expected to sacrifice for the good of the village, maintaining efficiency.

An all-action sweeping vista of a film poster for Glen A. Larson’s sci-fi ‘epic’ “Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack”. Receiving a full cinematic release in Europe & the UK (it was a edited together version of 3 TV shows released in the USA) largely cashing in on the still very popular ‘Star Wars’ phenomena. With some colourful, dynamic sci-fi artwork by Robert Tanenbaum (a homage to Tom Chantrell’s famous Style C art for ‘Star Wars’ perhaps ?) this original 1979 UK quad film poster is presented in excellent original unrestored, folded (as issued) condition that looks superb and displays to excellent effect with minimal age and handling wear; colours are deep and unfaded with some truly rip roaring imagery. This fine example represents a fantastic piece of very collectable and desirable original movie memorabilia for a much loved and hugely popular film and TV franchise.

For Duncan Jones’ 2009 science fiction masterpiece “MOON” Cardinal Communications have designed a most stylish and desirable movie poster for many a year. Truly stunning with exceptional design and graphics and due to the Film’s very low distribution (mainly to Independent or ‘art-house’ cinemas these posters are extremely scarce. This rolled (as issued) original UK Quad looks amazing and is presented in excellent condition and displays to fine effect.
Trivia: The film makes several references to Stanley Kubrick‘s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). GERTY looks and sounds similar to HAL 9000. They also have a similar dot: HAL’s is red and GERTY’s is blue. This film choreographs scenes in space to classical music, just as Kubrick did.

Jim and Brian Henson’s Muppets meet swash-buckling adventure in their 1996 movie adaption of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel “Muppets Treasure Island”. Artist Drew Struzan cleverly incorporates the live action actors into an excellent and colourful movie poster where they combine seamlessly with the true stars of the movie, the Muppets – Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Rizzo, Fozzie Bear. It’s an amazing looking poster, rolled (as issued) this lovely unrestored example presents to superb effect. Muppet movie memorabilia doesn’t get much better than this, from one of cinema’s most collectable and popular modern movie franchises.
Trivia: Kevin Bishop recalled that while filming the scene in the crow’s nest with Tim Curry, he said, “‘I mean be honest, Tim, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) – those fishnets – you’re never going to live those down, are you?” To which Curry responded, “Not as long as wankers like you keep bringing it up. You really are a sublime wanker, Kevin”. They would use the word sublime as a joke between them.

Dust off that velvet suit, making sure those lapels are of regulation width (hint, anything under 12″ not accepted). Polish the platform shoes and make sure the mullet is brushed…the 70’s are back with a vengeance…“Never Too Young To Rock”. Featuring a string of ‘top’ bands from the ‘Glam-Rock’ decade; Mud, the Rubettes, Glitter Band, Scott Fitzgerald, Whoopee Band, Slick add Sally James a sexy music journalist (best remembered as Chris Tarrant’s co-compere in the cult kids TV show TISWAS) and you have a mountain of fun & nostalgia for those of a certain age. With some colourful, dynamic artwork it really epitomises the time and is a very ‘FUN’ poster. This original 1976 UK quad film poster is presented in excellent original unrestored, folded (as issued) condition that displays to fine effect; colours are deep and unfaded with some great glam 70’s imagery. A rare example that hardly ever turns up for sale in this high grade condition and represents a fantastic piece of very collectable and desirable original movie memorabilia from the decade of Glam-Rock.

“If it doesn’t scare you, you’re already dead!”
In 2022 George A. Romero’s zombie classic “Night of the Living Dead”, received an extremely limited release as part of the Dreams are Monsters tour. The BFI screenings charts how the monsters of horror have evolved, made physical the anxieties of their times, and how we react when faced with the monster within. The season ran from October 2022 to December 2022 with the series horror movies screened at the BFI Southbank and at special one-off special events nationwide. Any posters from this unique season of films are incredibly scarce with paper for the ‘bigger’ (they don’t get much bigger than “Night of the Living Dead”) titles extremely desirable. Designed using zombie silhouettes as they attack the hero – Duane Jones the UK quad promoting the NOTLD screening is a great looking horror poster, from the green title and detailing to the black and white imagery. This event and country unique UK quad is presented in excellent unrestored, originally rolled (as issued) condition. Incredibly scarce horror artwork and a very rare highly desirable example of cinema memorabilia from perhaps the most influential horror film of the modern era.

“Oh! What a Lovely War” was Richard Attenborough’ Directorial debut in 1969 and also resulted in a highly patriotic film poster with a Union Jack design and as Sim Branagan states in his 2006 book “British Film Posters” – “A clever and appealing spoof of the classic Kitchener call-up poster”. With initial design by John Billingham and finished artwork by Brian Sanders each section of the Union Jack flag feature a scene from the movie and include General Haig (John Mills) playing leap frog and Brighton Pier with the colours red, white and blue are enhanced with Khaki, lilac and different shades of blue, red & green. An exceptional and eye-catching looking film poster with superbly detailed imagery, this really is a beautifully designed stand out poster and is becoming increasingly hard to find. Originally folded (as issued) this 1969 UK quad film poster displays superbly with vibrant unfaded colour tones. This excellent unrestored example presents to very good effect and represents an fine piece of collectable original British film memorabilia.
