  • Teen Wolf Movie Poster

    Teen Wolf

    £195.00

“He always wanted to be special… but he never expected THIS!”

Original 1985 UK Quad movie poster for the best movie poster Michael J. Fox made, that isn’t “Back to the Future”, Rod Daniel’s teenage angst comedy with a werewolf twist “Teen Wolf”. With artwork by Lucinda Cowell, I personally feel it displays far better in the landscape format of the UK quad than the equivalent one-sheet. Originally rolled (as issued – uncommon with this title) this fantastic looking poster displays to excellent effect with lovely deep, unfaded colours. A great piece of 1980s nostalgia, presented in near perfect condition for one of cinema’s best loved stars.

  • The Blues Brothers Movie Poster

    The Blues Brothers

    £165.00

“It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark… and we’re wearing sunglasses”

One of the few films that truly deserves to be called a ‘classic’. John Landis’ 1980 action comedy rollercoaster “The Blues Brothers”.  Over the years this movie has built up a huge cult following and established itself as the benchmark for which other action comedy films are compared against; it’s not many that come close. Any paper from the original release is extremely scarce and very sought after – making this original, very displayable Australian waybill hugely desirable and features Jake (John Belushi) & Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) Blues in classic pose dancing atop an over turned police patrol car that perfectly suits the film’s mood and vibe. Originally folded (as issued) it displays very well and is a fine example of very rare original and collectable movie memorabilia for the screens best loved anarchic action musical comedy that is “The Blues Brothers”

“…and we would especially like to welcome all the representatives of Illinois’s law enforcement community that have chosen to join us here in the Palace Hotel Ballroom at this time…”

  • The Boy Friend Movie Poster

    The Boy Friend

    £595.00

“When the leading lady of a low-budget musical revue sprains her ankle, the assistant stage manager is forced to understudy and perform in her place, becoming a star and finding love in the process.”

A superb pop-art style design of Twiggy draped in the British Union Jack flag, by Polish School of Posters maestro Jakub Erol features on this original Polish film poster for Ken Russell’s 1971 musical extravaganza “The Boy Friend”. Offered here is an original 1973 (first release in Poland) Polish one-sheet finished in a very striking , country unique style with this example being the first time I have offered one for sale. The Polish artists were instructed to reject Western values in their posters and were to follow rules about appropriate messaging, but other than that, they had complete artistic freedom. This resulted in some truly unique and bold designs, chock-full with individual personality, wit and subversive commentary. Heavy in metaphors and symbolism and executed in a painterly fashion with handcrafted typography the posters of the Polish School of Posters significantly influenced the international development of graphic design. Originally folded (as issued) this looks and displays very well and has benefitted greatly from being conservation linen backed; the bold colour tones are superb and unfaded and literally ‘pop’ from the paper. Guaranteed original this represents an extremely scarce and desirable item of original collectable movie memorabilia.

Trivia: Vladek Sheybal‘s character, the director De Thrill, was a parody of famed director Cecil B. DeMille, and in fact Sheybal wore a pair of the actual boots DeMille always wore.

“Are you Monsieur Gustave of the Grand Budapest Hotel in Nebelsbad ?”

A beautiful movie poster for Wes Anderson’s best film to date, the multi Oscar winning 2014 production “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. Designed by creative arts agency BLT Communications, this original 2014 UK Quad film poster is the Style B version featuring the titular hotel and has been finished in a vintage / retro style which  looks quite amazing; very impressive and the landscape layout of the British quad is the best way to display the imagery. Although a huge success with audiences and critics alike the movie is considered “art-house” or “independent” and had a very limited cinema release meaning any paper from the title is truly scarce. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect. “The Grand Budapest Hotel” poster design  has become a modern cinematic classic, that appeals not only to film enthusiasts but also to collectors of design, fashion and contemporary art. • The Interview Movie Poster

    The Interview

    £125.00

“Dave Skylark and his producer Aaron Rapaport run the celebrity tabloid show “Skylark Tonight”. When they land an interview with a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Jong-Un Kim, they are recruited by the CIA to assassinate him.”

Few modern film campaigns have generated as much controversy as “The Interview”, represented here by its unmistakable propaganda-style US one-sheet poster. Designed by Ignition, the bold artwork places Aaron Rapaport (Seth Rogen) and Dave Skylark (James Franco) amid missiles, soldiers, tanks and radiating communist imagery, with Korean lettering completing its deliberately provocative appearance.

Directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the action comedy follows a television presenter and his producer whose planned interview with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un becomes an unlikely CIA assassination mission. The film attracted worldwide attention after a major cyberattack on Sony Pictures and threats against cinemas disrupted its planned theatrical release. It ultimately opened in a limited number of independent venues on Christmas Day 2014 alongside a digital release.

Measuring 27 × 40 inches, the poster is presented rolled (as issued) and remains in excellent condition. Although the artwork appears distressed and weathered around the edges, this is an intentional element of the printed design rather than actual wear. With tremendous visual impact, this highly desirable piece of rare cinematic memorabilia makes a superb display piece for collectors of controversial films, distinctive poster artwork and modern cinema history.

Trivia: With all the support from politicans and celebrities such as George Clooney, Sean Penn, Michael Moore, and even President Barack Obama, Sony Pictures Entertainment decided to release the film on the original release date of December 25, 2014 in select theaters and Video-On-Demand.

“The deeper you go, the weirder life gets !”

“The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” was a cult success on its release with Wes Anderson’s loyal fanbase hailing another solid cinematic offering, it is most certainly an unusual film. It’s something of a collage of colorful imagery, fragmented shots, quirky music, strange characters, bizarre situations, and amusing montages – it perfectly suits the artistic style of one of my favourite alternative movie poster artists – Ise Ananphada, with this limited edition (a print run of only 175), hand-numbered screen print for “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” one of the best (if not the best) for the title and has been created using fifteen (15) different coloured inks. “They’re not just getting rich… They’re getting even.”

Directed by John Landis and starring Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd, “Trading Places” is one of the strongest comedies of the 1980s and stands as some of the best work for the main participants. With impressive artwork by Adrian Purkis the film poster that accompanied the release is a very clever design and one of the most memorable and best of the comedy genre. The original 1983 UK (British) one sheet movie poster offered here was originally folded (as issued) & presents in excellent unrestored condition with great colours and outstanding artwork. A very rare poster and genuinely scarce in this British portrait format that represents a highly very collectible & desirable original film memorabilia from a film lauded as a modern comedy classic and poster artwork that is such great fun!
