“Scream as your nightmares come true”
Sam Raimi’s “The Evil Dead” is one of the best horror comedy movies ever made, full of dark humour and gory thrills. As most people know, this is one of the greatest performing films, dollar for dollar in cinematic history. One of the most popular film titles for alternative movie posters artists, this 2018 hand-numbered (#18/100) print by Paul Mann is a standout piece and a proper horror poster as a chainsaw wielding Ash (Bruce Campbell) accompanied by his demonically possessed supporting cast and as Mann has cleverly illustrated here includes the haunted cabin and the iconic yellow 1973 Oldsmobile Delta. Presented in excellent condition this rolled (as issued) example displays superbly that represents an impressive piece of horror artwork and is a hugely desirable alternative movie poster. “I know now that my wife has become host to a Kandarian demon. I fear that the only way to stop those possessed by the spirits of the book is through the act of… bodily dismemberment.”
Trivia: Over his years as a director, Raimi’s 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (originally bought by Raimi’s father for the family when Sam was 14) has “played” Ash’s car in the Evil Dead movies, Uncle Ben and Aunt May’s car in the Spider-Man movies, Annie’s car in The Gift (2000), and Mrs. Ganoush’s car in Drag Me to Hell (2009), and has made cameos in nearly all of his other movies.

An absolutely stunning Japanese B2 film poster for one of the greatest cult horror movies ever made…Frank Henenlotter‘s “Frankenhooker”. Featuring incredible country unique artwork, this really is one of the best examples created for this cult horror-comedy title. Any paper for this title is extremely sought after and also ultra scarce, with this being the first time we have ever offered something for sale – and we are delighted that it is this Japanese B2, which has always been a personal favourite of mine. The finish is superb with neon, pink, green and blues popping from the paper (this day-glo effect is further enhanced by the high gloss finish – this does make it hard to photograph) Originally rolled (as issued) this displays to excellent effect and represents scarce cinematic movie memorabilia for a film that has become one of the most desirable titles of the genre…“She’s hot. Nautilus Art Prints released this Laurent Durieux variant as a limited run of 200 in 2017. In this poster, Durieux creates a bright and colourful retro summer aesthetic as he illustrates the memorable scuba-suit pool scene from Mark Nichols’ 1967 comedy-drama-romance “The Graduate”. This scene was very symbolic in displaying Ben’s (Dustin Hoffman) lack of control over his future whilst he was still trapped under hs parents control. The 12-colour screen print is signed by Durieux and hand-numbered #36/200. Having a very limited release these alternative movie posters are incredibly rare. Unrestored, this rolled (as issued) poster presents and displays to exceptional effect and represents a superb example of genuinely scarce modern film memorabilia featuring one of Hollywood’s greatest romantic comedy’s…classic and very COOL!
Trivia: In the famous promotional still and original poster for this film, Dustin Hoffman is seen in the background framed by Mrs. Robinson’s shapely leg. The leg in that photo didn’t belong to Anne Bancroft, however; it belonged to a then-unknown model, Linda Gray, who later played Mrs. Robinson in a London stage musical of The Graduate & Sue Ellen Ewing in the TV show Dallas.

An excellent example for one of the best comedy horror films ever made…“Gremlins”. Written by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, The Goonies) and directed by Joe Dante it was a huge box office hit. Re-released by Warner Bros. in 2019, recognising the fact that the movie has now become a classic ‘Christmas’ movie with Gizmo dressed in a Santa hat set against a Snow White background with the landscape format of the British UK quad perfectly suited to his design. Originally rolled (as issued) this 2019 film poster presents and displays very well. Totally original and unrestored this hard to find modern re-release of an important 80’s movie is becoming more and more sought after and represents a great collectable piece of original film movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Zach Galligan recounted in an interview that when the movie was made, there was no CGI, so all of the Gremlins were animatronics, each costing between $30,000-40,000 ($60,000-$90,500 adjusted for 2024 inflation). When everyone left the lot for the day, security would have everyone open the trunks of their cars to make sure they weren’t stolen.

An excellent rolled example for one of the best comedy horror films ever made…“Gremlins”. Written by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, The Goonies) and directed by Joe Dante it was a huge box office hit. The global advertising poster campaign that accompanied the release was designed by Intralink Film Graphic with finished artwork by John Alvin. Alvin knows how to produce a blockbusting poster as his work on E.T. & Blade Runner demonstrate. His work for “Gremlins” doesn’t disappoint with a tantalising image of ‘Gizmo’ emerging from his box with a little hidden detail – if you look closely to the button fastening on the waistband of the jeans you will see the Ambling logo. The landscape format of the British UK quad is perfectly suited to Alvin’s artwork. Originally rolled (as issued) this 1984 film poster presents and displays superbly. Totally original and unrestored this hard to find example of an important 80’s poster is becoming more and more sought after and represents a great collectable piece of original film movie memorabilia.
Trivia: This movie and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) are credited with inspiring the Motion Picture Association (MPA) to create the PG-13 rating. Many felt the movies were too violent for a PG rating, but not violent enough for an R.

“Home Alone” was a massive blockbuster hit when released in 1990 launching the career of child star – Macaulay Culkin and it has gone on to attain cult status, as one of the greatest and best-loved Christmas movies and is one of the highest grossing box office comedy’s of all time. Known as the ‘door’ style this original UK quad is the rarer of the two issued and features Culkin’s character Kevin MacCallister and his adversaries the ‘Wet Bandits’ – Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Rolled (as issued) this example presents very well and represents a rare piece of collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: In May 2011, the house in Winnetka, Illinois used in this movie was listed for sale at $2.4 million. It sold in March 2012 for $1.585 million. The house is promoted as a tourist attraction, and cited as an example of “How to Get Your Home in the Movies”.

“Home Alone” was a massive blockbuster hit when released in 1990 launching the career of child star – Macaulay Culkin and it has gone on to attain cult status, as one of the greatest and best-loved Christmas movies and is one of the highest grossing box office comedy’s of all time. This original UK quad is from the 1991 re-release and features Culkin’s character Kevin MacCallister in ‘Holy Cow’ posse and his adversaries the ‘Wet Bandits’ – Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Rolled (as issued) this example presents to excellent effect with deep blue unfaded background and crisp colours on the character images. It represents a fine example of rare, collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Joe Pesci was used to adding profanity to most of his scripts, and kept forgetting that he was filming a family movie during his character’s on-screen outbursts, so director Chris Columbus advised him to say “fridge” instead of the “f” word. A lot of Pesci’s unintelligible pained mutterings were his way to avoid cursing.
