It can only be Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster “Jurassic Park”. Ground breaking and game changing are phrases banded around far to easily in this day of modern cinema but “Jurassic Park” truly deserves these accolades. A massive worldwide success on its release with merchandising and memorabilia hugely sought after with the logo style design being the most desirable. From first year of release 1993 this rolled (as issued) Advance ‘Summer 1993’ original, unrestored UK quad film poster displays and presents to excellent effect. The bright red logo and title which is printed , slightly embossed, using a spot varnish finish, truly pops against the matt black background. From an aesthetic point of view I have always preferred the landscape format of the quad, as feel it suits the design (and is much more impressive) than the portrait style of a one-sheet. A fine piece of original movie memorabilia that is hard to find in such high grade condition from the film that kickstarted the CGI phenomenon and made millions fall in love with a T-Rex.
Trivia: The novel was published in 1990. However, pre-production of the film began in 1989, using only Michael Crichton‘s manuscript. It was widely believed that the book would be such a hit that it would make an outstanding movie. It turns out that assumption was correct

Re-released for a very limited cinematic run in 2011 the original iconic design and colour palette has been reworked, using a striking silver background. The UK quad film poster offered here displays and presents to excellent effect. From an aesthetic point of view I have always preferred the landscape format of the quad, as feel it suits the design (and is much more impressive) than the portrait style of a one-sheet. A fine piece of original movie memorabilia from the film that kickstarted the CGI phenomenon and made millions fall in love with a T-Rex.
Trivia: In 2005, paleontologist Dr. Mary Schweitzer discovered red blood cells and soft tissue in the fossilized bones of a T. Rex, meaning dinosaur cloning may someday become a reality.

A massive worldwide success on its release with merchandising and memorabilia hugely sought after with numerous posters produced for the title, some better than others with this example by Andrew Swainson certainly one of the most impressive. Swainson takes one of the most memorable scenes from the film as the T-Rex bursts from the trees to chase the jeep. From 2024 this rolled (as issued) alternative movie poster displays and presents to excellent effect and in addition to such incredible imagery this poster has been hand-signed and remarqued with a velociraptor by the artist to the bottom right corner area. Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Ken Loach, “KES” is based on the 1968 novel “A Kestrel for a Knave”, written by Barry Hines. It is part of the kitchen sink realism movement that developed in Britain in the late 50s and early 60s. This movement focussed on those that were disillusioned with modern society, and on the domestic lives of working-class Britain. When re-released by the BFI in 1999 for the 30th Anniversary, graphic design agency The Farm was commissioned to create a new poster, and it’s fair to say it what he has produced surpasses the original. Exclusive to this British release it’s a stunning imagery sums up the feeling of isolation. The borrowed shorts typify the “done unto” theme for the young lad while attempting to add a touch of welcome understated humour to the poster – made more poignant by the fact that for David Bradley’s role in life humour was usually at his own expense or not at all. An incredibly scarce example of modern poster design, perfectly suited to the landscape format of the UK quad. Originally rolled (as issued) this superb example presents extremely well and represents a beautiful example of cinematic movie memorabilia from a film that remains a powerful study of school, family, strife and dreams ever made.

Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Ken Loach, “KES” is based on the 1968 novel “A Kestrel for a Knave”, written by Barry Hines. It is part of the kitchen sink realism movement that developed in Britain in the late 50s and early 60s. This movement focused on those that were disillusioned with modern society, and on the domestic lives of working-class Britain. When re-released in the 1970s the front of house lobby cards – full colour in the 1969 release were re-issued with a light blue sepia tone, which in my opinion is much better looking , giving a particularly striking effect that also makes David Dai Bradley’s signature (signed in black sharpie pen) really stand out. Bradley has signed with a very nice signature and has also added his character name – Billy. An outstanding card from the set as it features Billy (Dai Bradley) with his kestrel, KES. Originally flat and unfolded (as issued) this superb example presents extremely well and represents a beautiful example of cinematic movie memorabilia from a film that remains a powerful study of school, family, strife and dreams ever made.

Taking audiences by storm at the box-office it was never expected (by the Studio) to be the huge worldwide success it turned out to be with a merchandising and marketing budget not reflected in the success. Hence the rarity of the film posters. Chazelle’s Oscar winning film was complemented with an award winning movie poster created by the creative arts agency LA. Stylish and simple the movie poster offered here is the British UK quad film poster affectionately known as the “dancing style” with both stars, Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) & Mia (Emma Stone) prominently featured and complemented by the five star glowing reviews. Original 1998 UK Quad film poster for Guy Ritchie’s breakthrough movie…“Lock Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels”…A very limited initial UK release means these Yellow1 designed posters are in extremely scarce…Any original memorabilia from the movie has become extremely sought after as this breakthrough film has gone on to become of the most influential British films of recent years, launching the careers of its stars and director. Trivia: The film was having trouble finding an American distributor when Trudie Styler called an acquaintance of hers – Tom Cruise. He attended a screening and loved the film. Matthew Vaughn later recalled, “It was hysterical. You had all these mid-level executives sitting there, and Cruise walked in. He saw them all sit up and pay attention, all getting on their phones, and suddenly all these senior executives joined the screening … At the end, Tom got up in front of everyone and said ‘This is the best movie I’ve seen in years, you guys would be fools not to buy it.’…”

A British classic – comedy & romance combine for Richard Curtis’ “Love Actually”. With an impressive star-studded cast, most of whom are featured on the poster, this much loved movie is a genuine feelgood offering. A Christmas or a Valentines movie – well you can decide with this beautifully presented, country of origin British UK quad film poster from the first year of release 2003. Designed by TEA – The Entertainment Agency this example was originally issued rolled and displays superbly and represents a great piece of cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: A speech given by Hugh Grant in this movie (where he extols the virtues of Great Britain and refuses to cave to the pressure of its longstanding ally, the United States) was etched in the transatlantic memory as a satirical, wishful statement on the concurrent relationship with George W. Bush. Tony Blair responded by saying in 2005, “I know there’s a bit of us that would like me to do a Hugh Grant in Love Actually (2003) and tell America where to get off. But the difference between a good film and real life is that in real life there’s the next day, the next year, the next lifetime to contemplate the ruinous consequences of easy applause.”

A fine and clever film poster for Gareth Edwards’ ‘intelligent’ creature feature “MONSTERS”. Created by design agency ‘Hoo-Ha’ this original 2010 UK quad film poster is a good looking example and incredibly rare in this final release design ‘Awards/Review’ style. Extremely scarce, the advertising campaign was very low key for Gareth Edwards’ debut feature and the UK film posters that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release are in very short supply and truly hard to find. This originally rolled (as issued) film poster displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition. Distinctive & eye-catching with the two main actors; Scoot McNair & Whitney Able stranded in the Mexican jungles of the quarantined ‘Infected Zone’. Some of best imagery seen on a modern poster it represents an extremely desirable piece of original movie memorabilia.
