Being on almost constant release since it premiered in 1981 “Raiders of the Lost Ark” received an updated movie poster for the ‘official’ re-release in 1982. Artistic duties were again assigned to Richard Amsel who produced a more exciting, action packed offering. The overall ancient/papyrus styling remained but now Indiana Jones is featured in trademark bull-whip cracking pose offset against the Ark of the Covenant with the strong supporting cast beautifully rendered around the borders. A better image than the original ? Not really just slightly different and a perfect addition to the canon. This rare classic adventure poster from the ultimate adventure movie presents extremely well and is offered in beautiful rolled, unfolded (as issued) unrestored original condition. A truly fine piece of original country of origin movie memorabilia for a character and franchise that has proved to be one of the best loved and highly successful franchises in film history.
Trivia: Freeze-framing during the Well of Souls scene, you can notice a golden pillar with a tiny engraving of R2-D2 and C-3PO from the Star Wars saga. They are also on the wall behind Indy when they first approach the Ark.

Based upon Rob Bottin’s iconic ‘robo’ suit design Paul Mann produced the perfect alternative movie poster to complement his graphics. A truly striking image for Paul Verhoeven’s ultra violent sci-fi masterpiece “Robocop” that is perfectly suited to the portrait format of this edition. Robocop is offset against a colourful background of supporting characters and action imagery, that are made to stand out when placed in front of the black background. It gives a depth that gives an almost 3D effect to the colour imagery. Printed by Mad Duck in 2022 this limited edition art print is hand-numbered #47 from a print run of 200. Artist Saniose has produced the perfect alternative movie poster for Paul Verhoeven’s ultra violent sci-fi masterpiece “Robocop” Titled the Battle Damage edition Robocop is offset against a colourful background of action packed imagery and supporting characters, including the iconic ED 209. Not just a stunning poster, hand numbered limited edition poster (#9/150) this example has also been autographed by the actor Peter Weller, annotated with his character name ‘ROBO’ with the movie’s tagline ‘Part Man, Part Machine, All Cop !’ The signing was carried out in 2023 (June) at FanExpo, Philadelphia and is accompanied by an official JSA Certificate of Authenticity from the event numbered AK96629. Trivia: Realizing that the film was running behind schedule and over budget, director Paul Verhoeven and producer Jon Davison purposely did not film one crucial scene: Officer Murphy’s death. When production wrapped, they went back to Los Angeles and grimly informed the execs that Murphy’s death had not been filmed. After watching the footage they did film, the execs were so astonished by the aesthetics and performances they gave the filmmakers more money and they filmed the scene in a redecorated warehouse in Los Angeles.

This original 1991 British Quad film poster is a steam punk art-deco delight featuring the incredible artwork of John Mattos. Truly beautiful imagery that’s perfectly suited to the Republic Pulp Serial approach of Joe Johnston’s “Rocketeer”. Based upon Dave Stevens’ graphic comic novel the Walt Disney Studio produced an enjoyable stylised romp set in the early days of pulp comics and superheroes that quickly became a cult favourite. The Advance film poster offered here is by far the most sought after of paper produced for the Film as it’s all artwork with just the title. The landscape format perfectly suits John Mattos’ dynamic super hero artwork. This unrestored, original rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect. Genuinely scarce and highly desirable, not just to film buffs (the art-deco design appeals to number of collectors) this superb piece represents a fantastic piece of desirable film movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Artist and creator of the ‘Rocketeer’ Dave Stevens played the man in the test flight movie, who has the rocket pack strapped to his back (the test pilot).

Trivia: Steven Spielberg cast Matt Damon as Private Ryan because he wanted an unknown actor with an All-American look. He did not know Damon would win an Oscar for Best Screenplay and be nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor for the hit Good Will Hunting in 1998 and become an overnight star before the film was released.

When first aired in 2010 the television series “SHERLOCK” went on to receive rave reviews and a cult following, becoming one of the most successful TV shows ever produced being revered by critics and fans alike in its modern re-imagined and re-booted formula. So successful in fact that for the ‘final’ episode on January 15th 2017 the BBC decided to simultaneously broadcast it in cinemas as well as standard TV screens. The advertising campaign was one the most extensive ever commissioned by the BBC and the poster that accompanied the extremely limited (one night only) cinema release was truly exceptional. Highlighting the two stars (Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman) it really is stunning, dark and mysterious with a design perfectly suited to the landscape format of the UK quad film poster. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays to excellent effect. One of the best looking and most collectable film posters of recent years from a TV series that has become a global favourite. Never commercially available by the BBC these posters are unbelievably scarce and represent a marvellous piece of original collectable film & TV memorabilia…“All lives end; all hearts are broken. “Get Ready For Rush Hour”
Designed by Dan Chapman this is an original 1994 UK Quad film poster for Jan De Bont’s exceedingly fast paced bomb on a bus actioner “Speed”. A true box-office blockbuster this movie quickly became an action classic spawning a sequal and acting as a template for many films since. In the same way “Die Hard” launched Bruce Willis as a credible action hero the same can be said of “Speed” and Keanu Reeves. This impressive, all-action film poster displays to excellent effect being originally rolled (as issued) with bright, unfaded colours and eye-catching imagery that represents a great piece of original cinematic movie memorabilia from the movie that launched the career of John Wick & Neo.
Trivia: The film was released one week before O.J. Simpson led Los Angeles police on a chase in a white Bronco after he was suspected of murder. After the Bronco chase, many audiences who saw the film in theaters noticed how closely scenes from the film resembled the real-life Bronco chase, including media coverage and aerial shots of Los Angeles freeways.

After making his buddy cop hit “48 Hours” Walter Hill directed a film that was inspired by the movies he grew up on. It was a wild homage filled with the kinds of images and themes he loved most about those movies such as: “custom cars, kissing in the rain, neon, trains in the night, high-speed pursuit, rumbles, rock stars, motorcycles, jokes in tough situations, leather jackets and questions of honor.” What Hill created was “Streets of Fire” (1984) a 1980’s meets retro 1950’s musical-action-crime-comedy B-movie epic. The film stars Michael Pare as Tom Cody an ex-soldier who returns to his home to rescue his ex-girlfriend, a singer named Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) from the clutches of evil biker gang leader Raven Shaddock (Willem Dafoe). The music (heavily influenced by Meatloaf’s guru Jim Steinman) featured in the film also reflected the odd 1950’s meets the 1980’s backdrop with its diverse rockabilly, doo-wop, blues and New Wave sounds…Even though “Streets of Fire” didn’t do well when it was released, over the years it has developed a cult following because of its unique qualities. The colourful eye catching poster art by Riehm for the film reflects the furiously stylised aesthetic that was used to tell the rock n’ roll fable of love ! Originally rolled (as issued) this beautiful unrestored 1984 US one sheet film poster presents superbly and represents a fine piece of original very collectable movie / music memorabilia…“A Rock ‘n’ Roll Fable !”
Trivia: The car that Cody (Michael Pare) drives in the movie is a 1951 Mercury that was chopped, channelled, nosed, and decked.

The third entry in the Salkind’s ‘Superman’ canon sees Richard Lester’s more comedic action touch as Christopher Reeve again dons the red cape in the 1983 release “Superman III”. Humour is largely provided by an excellent over the top performance (in reality just playing himself) by comic genius Richard Pryor as computer genius Gus Gorman. And it is Reeve and Pryor who feature prominently on this British UK quad film poster. The colourful all-action design sees Superman in full flight smashing his way to defeat the ‘villain’ Gus’ ‘super-computer’ Gorman From first year of release (1983) this rare folded (as issued) example displays and presents to excellent effect with only very minimal handling wear. Beautiful artwork and vivid unfaded colours this is an exceptional unrestored example of very collectable original movie memorabilia.
Trivia: According to Ilya Salkind, an earlier version of the script included the comic book villains Brainiac and Mr. Mxyzptlk teaming up, and Superman meeting his cousin, Supergirl, which would lead to the potential Supergirl spin-off.
