This original black and white press still was produced in 1999 to promote the release of the groundbreaking science-fiction action film “The Matrix.”
The photograph features Keanu Reeves as Neo alongside Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, both dressed in the distinctive black costumes that became such an iconic part of the film’s visual style. The image is particularly effective in black and white and perfectly captures the sleek, futuristic look that helped make “The Matrix” instantly recognisable.
Written and directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski, “The Matrix” was released in 1999 and became one of the most influential science-fiction films of its generation. The film combined martial arts, cyberpunk imagery and groundbreaking visual effects with a story questioning the nature of reality, and went on to win four Academy Awards.
The lower border carries the original Warner Bros. Distributors publicity caption identifying Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves as Trinity and Neo, together with the 1999 Warner Bros. copyright and the instruction that the photograph was to be used for advertising, promotion, publicity or reviews of the film.
Measuring 8 x 10 inches (20.25 x 25.5 cm), this authentic original 1999 studio press photograph is flat and unfolded (as issued) and in excellent high grade condition.
A superb piece of original Warner Bros. promotional material from one of the defining science-fiction films of the 1990s.
Trivia: All scenes that take place within the Matrix have a green tint, as if watching them through a computer monitor. Scenes in the real world have a blue tint. Blue was also used at a minimum within the Matrix, since the directors thought blue was more of a real-world color (despite, ironically, blue being often the least-occurring color in nature). The fight scene between Morpheus and Neo, which is neither in the real world, nor in the Matrix, is tinted yellow.

“Judge, Jury, and Executioner is what The Punisher is.”
“The Punisher” may be one of the darkest comic book characters ever created. This film and especially Thomas Jane, get that which makes this film is one of the better in the genre, because it sticks to the source better than most. By 2004 the cinema had already seen an influx of ‘big-budget’ super hero movies; X-Men, Spiderman, Hulk as well as a re-imagined Batman so a ‘new’ Punisher was a safe bet as the character of Frank Castle still one of the most popular creations and a corner stone of the ‘Marvel Universe’. Designed by creative arts agency Intralink Film Graphic Design this original 2004 UK quad film poster is typical of the character, dark & moody. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect with impressive artwork highlighting both The Punisher (Thomas Jane) & his protagonist Howard Saint (John Travolta). It represents a fine piece of collectible ‘comic book’ cinema movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Seeing as he had only one involvement with the creation of the original Punisher character; (changing the character from ‘The Assassin’ to ‘The Punisher’) this is one of the few movies based on a Marvel Comic in which Stan Lee does not appear.

“The Terrible Northmen…Sailing on Dragon Ships Like Serpents on the Sea! Shouting a Battle-Cry to Their Awesome God of War, Odin!”.
A personal favourite and up there for me with “Jason and the Argonauts” as one of the greatest (and most colourful) action, adventure movies of all-time, with both boasting a superb poster and hat statement is illustrated here with a magnificent, original 1958 UK Quad movie poster for Richard Fleischer’s “The Vikings”. Originally folded (as issued) this beautiful poster displays to very good effect with vibrant, deep, unfaded colours and fantastic imagery of the two stars Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis. Rarely available with this being the first time we have ever offered one for sale, it represents a fine example of cinematic movie memorabilia and one of the best looking and most collectable film posters from the genre.
Trivia: Stuntmen had practiced for weeks for the oar walking scenes. Kirk Douglas told director Richard Fleischer that he could do it and did several times. At one point when he did fall in the icy water he calmly swam over to the camera boat and asked if they had gotten good shots. He then swam back to the Viking longboat. Fleischer noted they were watching and filming an activity that had not been done in 1000 years.

The late 1970’s is generally regarded as a ‘golden’ age for explosive action movies at the cinema and in 1978 three of the greatest, hard drinking actors of their generation were signed up to star in Andrew V.McLaglen’s British actioner “The Wild Geese”. Released at a time to be considered politically incorrect it never achieved the success or praise it richly deserved but has since gone on to be a firm favourite with fans of gritty action genre films. The artwork of the original 1978 movie poster has been adapted here to complement the 2025 4K Remastered release and once again offers some exceptional character driven artwork by Arnaldo Putzu of Roger Moore, Richard Harris, Hardy Kruger and Richard Burton against an eye catching golden backdrop that really accentuates Putzu’s imagery. Originally rolled (as issued) with minimal handling wear this beautiful film poster represents a truly outstanding example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia from one of the best British action films of the late 70’s. These posters are unique to the UK and extremely scarce and used only to promote the very limited cinema screenings.
Trivia: Sir Roger Moore requested to have fewer lines in his scenes with Sir Richard Burton and Richard Harris. This kind of request was almost unheard of from a major star. His reasoning was, “You don’t seriously expect me to act against these guys?”

John Carpenter’s tale of alien occupation is part horror, part Sci-Fi and part social satire, all viewed through dark sunglasses of Roddy Piper . This original They Live movie poster is probably the scarcest of all the John Carpenter paper from the series of four (Escape From New York, Prince of Darkness, The Fog & They Live) 2018 remastered re-releases and a very rare find in such excellent condition as offered here…The original 2018 Japanese B2 film poster for John Carpenter’s They Live was originally rolled (as issued) & presents in exceptional original unrestored condition with great detailed artwork (unique to the Japanese re-release, as the other posters produced for these releases all feature new re-imaging artwork by Matt Ferguson) & strong vibrant colours. John Carpenter’s tale of alien occupation “They Live” is part horror, part sci-fi and part social satire, all viewed through dark sun-glasses of Nada played by ex-professional wrestler Roddy Piper. Considered one of Carpenter’s best it was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “Escape From New York”, “Prince of Darkness” and “The Fog”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 216. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.
Trivia: Artist Shepard Fairey credits the film as a major source of inspiration, sharing a similar logo to his “OBEY” campaign. “They Live was…the basis for my use of the word ‘obey’,” Fairey said. “The movie has a very strong message about the power of commercialism and the way that people are manipulated by advertising.”

Thor is one of the key, corner stone characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and takes centre stage on this stunning multi-coloured UK quad film poster surrounded by the more than able supporting cast; Hulk, Loki and villainess Hela. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks stunning and displays to excellent and memorable effect with incredible colour tones (have I mentioned the colours before ?) One of the best looking posters to date for any of the Marvel Studios’ releases with fantastic super hero artwork that represents a fine piece of collectible modern cinema movie memorabilia. Fantastic to display as is, but if you own a lightbox this is a poster you want to put in it – super stunning when backlit.
Trivia: Thor’s “friend from work” line about The Incredible Hulk was suggested to Chris Hemsworth by a Make-A-Wish child who paid a visit to the set on the day the scene was filmed.

“UP THERE WITH THE BEST OF THE BEST”
Absolute cheese on a stick, but “Top Gun” proves that that’s not always a bad thing. This movie’s got everything – an arrogant prodigy who’d be out on his arse if he wasn’t so good, a sensible, uglier best friend, a love interest, an arch nemesis and his dumb sidekick, a few cool high fives and catchphrases, an emotional death scene, a euphoric victory scene and of course, some unforgettable action scenes, punctuated by a cracking soundtrack. What more could any red-blooded child of the eighties ask for ? Well, how about the film poster ? From 1986 comes this original UK Quad movie poster for one of the 1980s most loved blockbusters. Tom Cruise never looked slicker than featured here as Lt.Pete Mitchell or as he’s better known “Maverick”. Presented in excellent ROLLED (as issued) unrestored condition it displays to magnificent effect with great character/action imagery and vibrant colours. This poster doesn’t turn up in this high grade condition very often and like a lot of movie posters from the 80s very desirable & represents an outstanding example of original film movie memorabilia.
Note: This iconic poster was actually designed by the much respected artist Brian Bysouth and Robin Behling of Feref and was one of the first to be created using an early digital/photoshop process.
Trivia: Riding on the back of this film’s success, the U.S. Navy set up recruiting booths in the major cinemas to try and catch some of the adrenaline charged guys leaving the screenings. They had the highest applications rate for years as a result.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s and Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 sci-fi ultra-violent actioner “Total Recall” produced one of the most distinctive film posters of Schwarzenegger’s impressive career. Designed by the Seiniger Advertising agency it features a bright blue close up of Arnold’s face, offset against an outer space filled background and the mysterious ‘Pyramids of Mars’. A clever adaption of the Philip K. Dick short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” and one of the cinematic high points for both Schwarzenegger and Verhoeven with physical special effects that have stood the test of time well. It’s a tough poster to find in high grade condition as any blemishes show up easily (especially on folded examples) because of the dark colours used. That is not the case here as this originally rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect and represents a truly outstanding and scarce item of highly sought after movie memorabilia.
Trivia: When Ronald Shusett and Dan O’Bannon first started working on the screenplay for this movie back in the 1970s, they realized that the movie would probably be too expensive and difficult to make (by the standards of special effects and budget at the time). They delayed working on the story and instead worked on an idea O’Bannon had about a space monster terrorizing a spaceship crew. This became Alien (1979).
