“It’s Craaazy! … big top … big shoes … big teeth!!”
If you were looking for a film to define cult classic, and you don’t suffer from coulrophobia, look no further than the Chiodo Brothers’ 1988 sci-fi, comedy, horror “Killer Klowns From Outer Space”. From the incredible Tom Simpson artwork on the British Quad to the premise that a gang of aliens looking like grotesque, colourful circus clowns have come to Earth to terrorise and murder us by cocooning their victims in candy floss, it has everything a cult film fan could want. Regarded as one of the scarcest posters from the period and of the genre, this is a full size 30″ x 40″ (76 x 102 cm) from the very limited cinema release and not one of the smaller posters produced with the same artwork when it released on video in Great Britain. An incredibly hard film poster with very few printed with only an extremely small number to have survived. The U.S. one sheet with bland artwork is pretty scarce and finding this original English poster featuring Tom Simpson artwork is almost impossible.. especially in this excellent unrestored rolled (as issued) condition. It represents one of the funnest and coolest items of original cinematic movie memorabilia we have ever offered for sale…“In Space No One Can Eat Ice Cream!”
Trivia: The popcorn gun include a compressor inside that would fire real popcorn. It was the most expensive prop in the movie, costing $7,000 and taking six weeks to build.

Largely due to the “Star Wars” effect and the huge global popularity of the “Dungeons & Dragons” role playing game, the 1980’s truly was the decade of the mystical sword and sorcery fantasy. Filmed at Pinewood Studios, largely using the same staff and crew that had previously worked on James Bond and Star Wars, Peter Yates’ “KRULL” has stood the test of time well and is fondly remembered. Boasting some of the best fantasy art seen on a movie poster by Josh Kirby this original 1983 UK quad for “KRULL” certainly impresses. Scarce and hard to find in this high grade condition, this originally folded (as issued) example looks fantastic and presents in exceptional condition that represents a fine piece of hugely collectable original 80’s sci-fi fantasy movie memorabilia.
Trivia: A hand that could physically transform into a “Changeling Claw” was developed for the movie, but due to time constraints could not be developed in time and was not used in the film. The piece later was completed for Tobe Hooper‘s movie Lifeforce (1985).

Although a relatively recent release any paper for Damien Chazelle’s 2016 multi award winning musical romance phenomenon “La La Land” is scarce. Taking audiences by storm at the box-office it was never expected (by the Studio) to be the huge worldwide success it turned out to be with a merchandising and marketing budget not reflected in the success. Stylish and simple the movie poster offered here is the British UK quad film poster affectionately known as the “dancing style” with both stars, Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) & Mia (Emma Stone) prominently featured and complemented by the five star glowing reviews. Luc Besson’s 1994 dark action thriller “Leon: The Professional” remains one his most celebrated movies. Showing in only a handful of ‘art-house’ cinemas the advertising campaign was very low key and the distinctive British campaign is unquestionably the best looking of any marketing campaign. The stylish red and black design is used here on the fully illustrated synopsis tri-fold which is accompanied by four original black and white promotional stills; two feature Jean Reno as the master assassin Leon, one shows his young apprentice Mathilda (Natalie Portman) with the remaining still a rare candid shot of Luc Besson. Any marketing material that accompanied the limited cinema release is truly scarce. Originally flat and unfolded (as issued) it all presents in original unrestored condition with only minor handling wear. Hugely collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from a truly stylish cult classic movie of the 90’s.
TRIVIA: Luc Besson got the idea of doing this movie while working on his previous movie, Nikita(1990). In that film’s third act, Victor the Cleaner appears to deal with the aftermath of Nikita’s botched mission. Realizing the potential of the character was underused in that movie, Besson decided to create a story that focused on the activities of such a character. Both Victor and Leon appear dressed in a long wool coat, sunglasses and a knit cap. Both are played by Jean Reno. The film’s working title was “The Cleaner”.

“They’ve never been on a building site. Not to say that that’s, you know; not to say that the dirt under your fingernails is some sort of badge of honor. It’s not. It’s just a fact, you know. They never had a paper route, you know. I had a milk route and stuff like that. I’ve working on building sites. That fundamentally makes my soul a lot more purer than theirs.” — Noel Gallagher on the rivalry with Blur. The best part is that he said it with a straight face.
In 2003 John Dower’s Brit Pop documentary “Live Forever” was released….Featuring the talents of Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Jarvis Cocker, Noel Gallagher, Liam Gallagher, Damon Albarn, Toby Young and Damien Hirst. An excellent documentary capturing the phenomenon of the Britpop passage. It is worth noting that I think that even if you didn’t get the whole Britpop experience it is still worth watching to try and understand exactly what the period of time tried to encapsulate. Dragging Britain from a period of being totally dormant, to generating great music and creating an aura of genuine invincibility. A highlight of the film has to be the Damien Hirst designed UK quad movie poster. A real eye catching, talking piece poster for a movie that quickly became a cult classic. Genuinely scarce and in very short supply due to a limited cinema release. Never commercially available it is believed that there are a small number currently in circulation making genuine examples such as the one of offer here even more desirable.
Limited Edition Damien Hirst prints regularly sell for £1,000+ so this original ”Live Forever” UK quad movie poster represents exceptional value and it looks really cool !
