“Your grace. I represent the magazine “Tit Bits” by whom I’m commissioned to approach you for the publication rights of your memoirs.”
A film that’s a personal favourite and for the 70th Anniversary BFI remastered & restored 2019 it is accompanied by a beautiful re-imagined poster with artwork unique to the British re-release. “Kind Hearts and Coronets” is one of the most perfect, brilliant comedies to come out of Ealing Studios with career best performance (eight times) by Alec Guinness. The caricature imagery is a nod to the ‘St. Trinian’s’ style artwork of Ronald Searle and the use of soft colours perfectly suits the light tone of subject matter. Originally rolled (as issued) this unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect and represents an great piece of original ‘modern’ movie memorabilia from one of the finest Ealing Comedy film’s ever made.
Trivia: In 1999, it was ranked #6 on the British Film Institute’s 100 Greatest British Films of the 20th Century.…more detail
