Although a relatively recent release any paper for Edgar Wright’s 2021 horror mystery “Last Night in Soho” is highly desirable. Not only because it is such a stylish and cool thriller movie but because of a beautiful painted movie poster created by artist, James Paterson. Although a huge success with audiences and critics alike the movie is considered somewhat ‘art-house’ and had a very limited cinema release resulting in the scarcity of the posters used in the marketing campaign with this particular example being an English language text style used for the Japanese release. Originally rolled (as issued) this Japanese B2 movie poster looks and displays to excellent effect with minimal handling wear with imagery perfectly suited to the portrait style format; the bold colours are particularly vibrant. A scarce, ‘modern’ original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly talented director that looks very very cool !
Trivia: The drink ordered by Sandie early on in the film is a Vesper created by Ian Fleming in the 1953 James Bond novel Casino Royale. The character Vesper Lynd was portrayed by Eva Green in Casino Royale (2006).

Incredibly rare original 1971 French Grande “Le Mans” movie poster. Any paper from this sought after Steve McQueen motor racing title is sought after, with the French Grande design considered one of the very best for this iconic McQueen movie. Beautiful, photo realistic painted artwork by Rene Ferracci, featuring a stunning image of McQueen as a backdrop to the race cars, that in this large format is particularly impressive. Originally folded (as issued) this unrestored example presents and displays to very good effect with only minimal age and handling wear. A film where any posters are genuinely scarce and very hard to find due to the very limited cinematic release at the time. “Evil Beyond Exorcism”…A great horror poster from the late 1970’s for the much under rated occult thriller “The Legacy” This original UK quad film poster Richard Marquand’s 1978 release and really is a striking example of horror poster design and artwork that certainly remains in the memory. Very rare to find in such excellent original unrestored condition; the black background is a deep unfaded black whilst the imagery and lettering is bright and truly stands out. This scarce, folded (as issued) example displays and presents superbly and represents an extremely collectable piece of 1970’s British horror cinema memorabilia.

“Two no-hopers. One cursed village. One hell of a night !”
An original 2009 Advance UK Quad movie poster for Phil Claydon’s horror comedy romp “Lesbian Vampire Killers”. James Corden and Mathew Horne (yes, the two guys from the hit TV show “Gavin and Stacey”) in their first cinematic endeavour. This movie is often compared to “Shaun of the Dead” but with lesbian vampires and has established a real cult following of fans. A eye-catching poster design by FEREF makes for a desirable piece of original movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Writers Stewart Williams and Paul Hupfield were challenged to think of the dumbest and yet most commercial title possible for a film, Lesbian Vampire Killers was the answer. They then went away and wrote the script.

A rare original country of origin 1985 UK quad film poster for Chris Bernard’s “Letter To Brezhnev” designed and illustrated by the British punk illustrator and designer, Jamie Reid, the artist responsible for most of the Sex Pistols’ influential graphics. This poster is featured in Sim Branaghan’s excellent book British Film Posters. He says of the poster and Palace Pictures – “The British producer and distributor, Palace pictures, maintained a higher design standard than most with the poster for Letter to Brezhnev one of the very last genuinely distinctive artist-designed British film posters”. Originally folded (as issued) this excellent example presents exceptionally well and represents a fine piece of collectable memorabilia from one of Punk’s best known artists.
Trivia: The script was written in only two weeks and the film was shot in three weeks.

“A Disgrace to Criminals Everywhere.”
Original 1998 UK Quad film poster for Guy Ritchie’s breakthrough movie…“Lock Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels”…A very limited initial UK release means these Yellow1 designed posters are in extremely scarce…Any original memorabilia from the movie has become extremely sought after as this breakthrough film has gone on to become of the most influential British films of recent years, launching the careers of its stars and director. Presented here in excellent original rolled (as issued) condition this high grade example is a beauty…“All right, son: roll them guns up, count the money, and put your seat belt on.”
Trivia: The film was having trouble finding an American distributor when Trudie Styler called an acquaintance of hers – Tom Cruise. He attended a screening and loved the film. Matthew Vaughn later recalled, “It was hysterical. You had all these mid-level executives sitting there, and Cruise walked in. He saw them all sit up and pay attention, all getting on their phones, and suddenly all these senior executives joined the screening … At the end, Tom got up in front of everyone and said ‘This is the best movie I’ve seen in years, you guys would be fools not to buy it.’…”

Trivia: A speech given by Hugh Grant in this movie (where he extols the virtues of Great Britain and refuses to cave to the pressure of its longstanding ally, the United States) was etched in the transatlantic memory as a satirical, wishful statement on the concurrent relationship with George W. Bush. Tony Blair responded by saying in 2005, “I know there’s a bit of us that would like me to do a Hugh Grant in Love Actually (2003) and tell America where to get off. But the difference between a good film and real life is that in real life there’s the next day, the next year, the next lifetime to contemplate the ruinous consequences of easy applause.”
