  • Almost Famous Movie Poster

    Almost Famous

    £75.00

“Experience it. Enjoy it. Just don’t fall for it”

Great looking and brilliantly designed film poster by creative arts agency FEREF. The studio used this provocative and sexy shot of rock groupie ‘Penny Lane’ (Kate Hudson) across the worldwide marketing campaign for Cameron Crowe’s Oscar winning “Almost Famous” and it has since become one of the most instantly recognisable of ‘modern’ film poster images. This rolled (as issued) original UK quad is from first year of release (2000) is in very nice condition that displays superbly with imagery that makes it one of the most memorable of recent years. Colourful and very stylish, it represents a fine piece of collectable and sought after original rock / movie memorabilia that is scarce in this high grade condition.

Trivia: The film is director Cameron Crowe‘s semi-autobiographical account of life as a young Rolling Stone reporter. The actual group Crowe first toured with was The Allman Brothers Band. Gregg Allman distrusted him, and kept asking if he was a narc. Crowe was in a near-fatal plane crash while traveling with The Who. The character of Russell Hammond is based on Glenn Frey of the Eagles.

A true British institution and all-round ‘top-bloke’ as featured here in the 2010 documentary “Lemmy” by Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski.  With testimonials by rock’s leading ‘Hall of Famers” (many of which are featured on the UK quad design) this is a remarkable cinematic biography. Designed by OTMentertain the imagery on the British quad places Lemmy centre stage offset against an ‘Ace of Spades’ logo. • Moonage Daydream Movie Poster

    Moonage Daydream

    £325.00

    “It’s not a biography. It’s a senses attack”

Undoubtedly, one of the great music biography films; David Bowie as presented by Brett Morgen in “Moonage Daydream”. Technically it’s not a biography but a loud, vivid, exploration and celebration of Bowie’s life, art, and music. Made up of clips cleverly edited together and enhanced to make this a cinematic experience. This original 2022 one-sheet designed by Empire Design and featuring an iconic Bianca Moran Parkes Bowie image is a truly great find due to the very limited cinematic release in art-house and small independent cinemas. Presented in near perfect unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition – truly stunning, and a perfect compliment to the ground breaking musician. Incredibly scarce with a very low print run this really is an exciting item of rock / movie collectible from one of the most influential icons of modern pop culture…David Bowie.

Trivia: The documentary includes a lot of David Bowie‘s unpublished personal material, including photos, home videos and some interviews on TV. Director Brett Morgen talked in person with Bowie’s widow, top model Iman, for asking permission to use the material as tribute to Bowie. Although in a first moment she was reluctant to this idea, she was convinced by Morgen’s previous works Cobain: Montage of Heck (2015) and Jane (2017) about singer Kurt Cobain and scientist Jane Goodall, where Morgen used personal material from each other to create artistic collages as tribute to them, instead to use in the way to make a classic biographic documentary.

    The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson

    £75.00

The Independent said…There is something comical but uplifting in the baffled ecstasy he feels in still being alive

Quite honestly some of the finest poster artwork I have seen on a ‘modern’ poster. In these days of digital design it’s a pleasure to see and handle such a beautiful item. Designed by Jonny Halifax for Julien Temple’s film ‘The Ecstasy Of Wilko Johnson’, and winner of the SXSW 2015 Excellence in Poster Design Special Jury Recognition Award this is a special and very rare film poster. After the film’s cinematic premiere held in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust in London at the Picturehouse on Shaftesbury Avenue on 17th July 2015 it was only screened in a very limited number of select ‘art-house’ cinemas making any paper from the release exceptionally scarce and sought after with the artist himself releasing limited edition prints of the artwork which immediately sold out and have become collectors items in their own right. The poster offered here is a genuine UK quad film poster from the initial 2015 release, not a copy. Printed on heavy stock paper with a four colour silk screen print finish this originally rolled example displays superbly…An incredibly rare and collectable piece of music/film memorabilia.
