  • Big Trouble in Little China Movie Poster

    Big Trouble in Little China

    £1,495.00

“They told Jack Burton to go to hell…and that’s exactly where he’s going !”

A very COOL poster and a fantastic example of the supremely talented British film poster artist Brian Bysouth’s work.  (Brilliant interview with Eddie Shannon Film on Paper). This original “Big Trouble in Little China” movie poster has it all; incredible graphics, great detail & amazing colours. It is very rare and one of the scarcest John Carpenter movie posters from the 80’s to find. The original UK quad movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1986 and displays to excellent effect. Originally rolled (as issued) it is presented in incredible unrestored condition and is the best example of this poster I have ever offered for sale. In true investment grade condition, this genuinely rare cult classic from the Carpenter archives represents an extremely desirable and collectable piece of movie memorabilia.

Trivia: John Carpenter and Kurt Russell explain on the audio commentary that the test screening was so overwhelmingly positive, that both of them expected it to be a big hit. However, 20th Century Fox put little into promoting the movie, and it ended up being a box-office bomb. In addition, the film was released in the midst of the hype for Aliens (1986), which was released sixteen days afterwards. However, it went on to be a huge cult hit through home video. Carpenter and Russell explained that the reason the studio did little to promote the film, was because they simply didn’t know how to promote it.

  • Conan the Barbarian Movie Poster

    Conan the Barbarian

    £150.00

“Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure !”

By Crom ! you will struggle find a nicer example of this classic Schwarzenegger film poster for sale. Stunning original 1982 British UK quad from Arnold Schwarzenneger’s break through role as Robert E. Howard’s “Conan the Barbarian”. Conan (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Valeria (Sandahl Bergman) feature in beautifully painted artwork by highly acclaimed movie poster artist Renato Casaro. Presented in excellent unrestored, folded (as issued) condition. Totally bad-ass original cinematic movie memorabilia, “Conan The Barbarian” along with the original “Terminator” of 1984 and “Predator” (1987) are easily the greatest films that Arnold Schwarzenegger ever starred in, and is a sword and sorcery epic that outshines everything else in the field by far.

Trivia: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sandahl Bergman did their own stunts, as suitable body doubles couldn’t be found.

  • Enter The Dragon

    Enter The Dragon

    £195.00

“His deadly mission: to crack the forbidden island of Han!”

Sorry for the spoiler but the poster imagery featured here is from the climax of Lee’s most successful and well known movie “Enter the Dragon” and showcases an iconic image of martial arts’ greatest star…Bruce Lee. This striking black & white photographic poster (I genuinely don’t think it would have worked as well in colour) was issued by Warner Bros. to record stores to promote the soundtrack album that accompanied the film in 1973. Easily the best example of this poster I have offered for sale. This originally rolled (as issued) example is rarely seen in this high grade unrestored  investment condition and represents an extremely scarce and collectable example of  original movie related memorabilia & a fitting tribute to the martial arts legend BRUCE LEE.

Trivia: Over 8,000 mirrors were used to set up the “Hall of Mirrors” where the climactic duel takes place.

    Enter The Dragon

    £495.00

“Their deadly mission: to crack the forbidden island of Han !”

Rightly regarded as one of the key and most collectable movie posters for a film that created its own unique genre and provided the vehicle to launch Bruce Lee (albeit briefly) as a screen & cultural icon. Bob Peak created the artwork and his design was used globally as the imagery became as memorable as its late star. Whilst the core artwork remained the same slight variations appeared in different countries with this Japanese re-issue one-sheet format probably the most striking as the action imagery (including a nunchuk wielding Bruce Lee) was offset against a black background. Offered here is an exceptional Japanese B1 film poster for “Enter the Dragon” from the 1997 re-release, finished with a high gloss sheen it presents to stunning effect and displays minimal handling wear. This originally rolled (as issued) example is rarely seen in this large Japanese format and in such high grade unrestored investment grade condition. A striking piece that represents an extremely scarce and collectable example of original movie memorabilia & a fitting tribute to the martial arts legend BRUCE LEE.

Trivia: In 2004, this movie was deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” in the United States and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.

“Their deadly mission: to crack the forbidden island of Han !”

“Enter the Dragon” is rightly regarded as one of the key and most collectable movie posters from the 1970’s for a film that created it’s own unique genre and provided the vehicle to launch Bruce Lee (albeit briefly) as a screen & cultural icon. Bob Peak created the artwork and his design was used globally as the imagery became as memorable as its late star. Whilst the core artwork remained the same slight variations appeared in different countries with the UK landscape format probably the most striking as the action imagery (including a nun-chuk wielding Bruce Lee) was offset against a bright yellow background. Offered here is an exceptional UK quad film poster from first year of release 1973 that displays and presents to excellent effect – colours are very vibrant and truly pop from the paper. This originally folded (as issued) example is rarely seen in this high grade unrestored condition and represents an extremely scarce and collectable example of  original movie memorabilia & a fitting tribute to the martial arts legend BRUCE LEE.

TRIVIA: ENTER THE DRAGON due to its huge popularity was consistently re-released and shown after its 1973 debut yet no new standalone posters were ever printed & it was down to the cinema owners to re-use the posters from 1973. Making original unrestored 1973 posters of this quality extremely scarce.

    The Big Brawl

    £45.00

    Jackie Chan’s US debut !

Jackie Chan was a huge star in the far east and Europe and it was the Robert Clouse directed (Clouse had previously directed Bruce Lee in “Enter the Dragon”) martial arts actioner “The Big Brawl” that introduced him to audiences in the USA. Previous kung fu / martial arts movies relied on audience excitement by having a great action poster and that caveat certainly applied to the UK quad design. The artwork used on the British campaign was exclusive to the UK and features incredible fight graphics and fantastic image of the movie’s hero Jerry Kwan (Jackie Chan). The original 1980 UK quad movie poster offered here is from first year of release and displays and presents to excellent effect. Originally folded (as issued) the colours are bright and unfaded and art action packed and exciting. With minimal handling and age wear this beautiful folded unrestored film poster is a fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia.
