  • Cool Hand Luke Alternative Movie Poster

    Cool Hand Luke

    £295.00

“He was smiling… That’s right. You know, that, that Luke smile of his. He had it on his face right to the very end. Hell, if they didn’t know it ‘fore, they could tell right then that they weren’t a-gonna beat him. That old Luke smile. Oh, Luke. He was some boy. Cool Hand Luke. Hell, he’s a natural-born world-shaker.”

An impressive and eye-catching item from the hand of master illustrator – Paul Mann,  for the classic Paul Newman prison chain gang drama “Cool Hand Luke”. This stunning alternative movie poster features a beautiful image of Newman (dressed in prison fatigue double denim) along with the outstanding supporting cast in the background with Boss Godfrey (Morgan Woodward) one of the most prominent – He never removed the sunglasses throughout nor spoke a word and became known as ‘the man with no eyes’ one of the most significant and memorable characters from the Film. Hand-Numbered #69 from a print run of only 100, this originally rolled (as issued) example looks and displays to excellent effect. Unquestionably one of Newman’s finest roles, in a motion picture that has become near legendary and (rightly so) this modern re-imagining represents a highly collectable piece of artwork and a rare item of movie memorabilia.

Trivia: Two hundred hard-boiled eggs were provided for one of the film’s most famous sequences. Due to clever editing, Paul Newman only ate about eight altogether. The rest were consumed by the cast and crew, which led to extreme cases of flatulence the next day.

Fantastic pop art design by Dosshaus featuring the familiar image of Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and using the the Stars and Stripes of the American flag as a memorable backdrop – the bold colours literally do ‘pop’ out from from the paper of this original Italian locandina film poster from the 2019 re-release. For a Few Dollars More – Per Qualche Dollaro in Più

    £125.00

“Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the bounty hunters appeared.”

Sergio Leone’s “The Dollars Trilogy” is lauded (rightly so) as the greatest spaghetti westerns ever made with any paper from the films extremely sought after which makes this incredibly scarce 2014 Italian film festival release for the second in the series – “For a Few Dollars More” a real find. “To those unlucky few who missed “DR. NO”…You are unprepared for the sophisticated mayhem and the polished lovemaking. The James Bond bug has not bitten you. But take heart! There is still time to jump on the Bond bandwagon with the second James Bond adventure…FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. See it and we guarantee – you will be hooked for good !”

One for the true Bond collectors and my personal favourite Connery Bond movie. An original Swiss one-sheet for 007’s second screen outing “From Russia With Love”. This photo montage style features striking mixture of key scenes and characters. I particularly like the large 007 logo with Connery silhouette which runs across the bottom. The design is exclusive to the 1970s Swiss re-release and not found anywhere else. Presented in excellent unrestored folded (as issued) condition this presents superbly with minimal handling wear and represents a fantastic piece of collectable James Bond cinematic memorabilia from the Sean Connery era.

Trivia: Although he had his reservations about the choice of Sir Sean Connery for the part of James Bond, after seeing him in this movie, Ian Fleming was completely won over by the actor. In fact, as a result, Fleming added a Scottish ancestry to Bond’s character in later novels.

    The Naked Runner

    £75.00

“They found the key to Sam Laker. They wound it up good and tight. And then they turned him loose”

Striking and very modern design (for the late 1960’s) for the Frank Sinatra produced (he also starred) political thriller “The Naked Runner”. Filmed largely in England and Europe the movie has a great 60’s vibe and was very under-rated on its release. The paper produced to accompany the release is all of the highest quality and different for each country, with the country of origin (US) one sheet being particularly memorable (although Nistri’s art for theItalian release is one of the best images of Sinatra you will find). Offered here is an original US one sheet movie poster from first year of release 1967, originally folded (as issued) it displays and presents very well with minor handling & age wear. A fantastic looking and very collectable piece of genuine movie memorabilia from one of entertainments biggest stars.
