    A beautiful British Quad for Terrence Malick’s cinematic debut “Badlands” starring Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek as the young couple on a killing spree across the ‘badlands of Montana’. This 2008 BFI (British Film Institute) re-release offering sees the original 1973 British artwork adapted to a full bleed image with no white border. It really works, resulting in a particularly powerful silhouette imagery. Presented unrestored, in originally rolled (as issued) condition, this scarce British poster rarely comes to market and represents a fine piece of cinematic memorabilia for a cult classic movie.

    Trivia: The film’s plot and lead characters are based on Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate. In 1958, they embarked on a murder spree that horrified the country.

The original 2010 UK quad film poster offered here is a ‘cast-style’ offering featuring the main stars.     Trivia: This is the third telling of the notorious Essex Boys murders that was previous filmed as Essex Boys (2000) and Rise of the Footsoldier (2007).

Like many small studio independent releases the advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema showings is truly scarce.     In 1998 a British film was released that launched the modern ‘Brit Gangster’ genre….that film was “Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and the relaunched genre is still going strong and showing no sign of flagging. “Dead Man Running” stars two actors who have very much cornered the market in Cockney ‘loveable’ rogues…Danny Dyer & Tamer Hassan. Designed by  the advertising agency Creative Partnership the 2009 UK quad that accompanies the cinema release of “Dead Man Running” is typical of the genre. The originally rolled (as issued) film poster offered here displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with just very minor handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British movie memorabilia.

    Re-released by the BFI in 1999 this original UK quad for Mike Hodges’ iconic British gangster film “Get Carter” is very hard poster to find; stark and hard hitting design by Eureka Design consultants(very in keeping with the film) featuring a great image of Michael Caine in probably his most recognisable role. Being originally rolled it displays very well with only light handling wear to some edges (as to expected when handled for signing). As stylish and cool a poster as they come…“Frank wasn’t like that. I’m the villain in the family, remember?”

    Trivia: Sir Michael Caine made subtle changes to Mike Hodges‘ depiction of Carter in the script, cut out pleasantries and gave him a cold, hard edge, closer to Ted Lewis original envisioning of the character.

    Autographed with character name Anna by Britt Ekland at HorrorCon 2024 (Sunday 12th May). This original black & white publicity still features Ekland’s Anna (in one of the most memorable scenes from the movie) having phone sex with Caine’s Carter. Flat and unfolded (as issued), in exceptional condition, and offered in a custom made black frame finished with UV plexiglass. A movie that is highly regarded as a true classic of the genre and a hugely collectable piece of horror, sci-fi film memorabilia…“Frank wasn’t like that. I’m the villain in the family, remember?”

The name of the firm in the film, the Green Street Elite, refers to Green Street in the London Borough of Newham, where West Ham’s old home stadium, Upton Park was located. The UK quad used to market the movie is a classic character study with the two major stars – Elijah Wood and Charlie Hannam taking centre stage. The originally rolled (as issued) UK quad film poster offered here displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with minimal handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: West Ham were approached by the film-makers who wanted to shoot scenes at their Upton Park ground. As they were under the impression that the film was celebrating the glorious game and its fanatical supporters, they agreed. Once they realized the film’s true take on the subject (after filming had taken place), they disassociated themselves from the project.

A lovely blue colour palette is used throughout which perfectly highlights the use of red in her eyes. In excellent original, unrestored condition this rolled (as issued) example displays to superb effect and represents a great item of original horror movie memorabilia from a director who has made this genre very much his own.

    Trivia: Although this entire movie is about vampires, the word “vampire” itself is never actually used.

    Trivia: The film was having trouble finding an American distributor when Trudie Styler called an acquaintance of hers – Tom Cruise. He attended a screening and loved the film. Matthew Vaughn later recalled, “It was hysterical. You had all these mid-level executives sitting there, and Cruise walked in. He saw them all sit up and pay attention, all getting on their phones, and suddenly all these senior executives joined the screening … At the end, Tom got up in front of everyone and said ‘This is the best movie I’ve seen in years, you guys would be fools not to buy it.’…”
