“Jaws” is one of the most important films of ‘modern’ cinema, launching the movie trend known as the ‘Summer Blockbuster’. It is also one of the best and most copied movie poster images ever. Designed by The Seiniger Advertising Agency with finished artwork by Roger Kastel the poster imagery has attained an almost cult status. The designers of the 2019 Park Circus release Quad have cleverly incorporated the original poster design into a more ‘modern’ imagining with great success. Their poster is a spin on the Roger Kastel classic, the iconic image of the shark looming under an unsuspecting Chrissie as she swims through the water. This image fills the entire poster design, given a twist with a paint splatter style bleed at the edges that is sure to give it that extra collectable desirability. Park Circus re-releases are notoriously limited screenings making any paper from them very hard to come by and incredibly rare. Presented unrestored and in original rolled condition, this is a near perfect example for the classic Spielberg film. Perfect, deep rich colours this is truly impressive poster in this format that presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a key item of highly sought after, collectable original movie memorabilia…“You’re gonna need a bigger boat !”
Trivia: Several decades after the film’s release, Lee Fierro, who played Mrs. Kintner, walked into a seafood restaurant and noticed that the menu had an “Alex Kintner Sandwich.” She commented that she had played his mother so many years ago; the owner of the restaurant ran out to meet her, and he was none other than Jeffrey Voorhees, who had played her son. They had not seen each other since the original movie shoot.

This magnificent example is incredibly rare, being one of only 150 produced – Alien terror never looked better than this, thanks to stunning imagery by acclaimed award winning movie poster artist Drew Struzan producing some of his finest work. Created in 2021 as a collaboration between Vice Press and Bottleneck Gallery (BNG) this example is the pure artwork style with no title or credits and printed onto 4mm polystyrene. As it’s flat and printed onto a solid surface it really is the best way to display the movement and depth of the lenticular design. This impressive ve alternative movie poster for John Carpenter’s sci-fi horror classic “The Thing” was created by Australian artist Florey and printed in 2021.
Florey’s striking artwork perfectly captures the isolation and paranoia of Carpenter’s film, with the frozen Antarctic landscape dominated by a fiery representation of the shape-shifting alien creature. MacReady is depicted walking towards us beneath the mass of flames, while the solitary figure silhouetted in the doorway adds to the sense of menace and uncertainty that runs throughout the film.
Released in 1982 and starring Kurt Russell as R.J. MacReady, “The Thing” was not a success on its original release but has since undergone a remarkable reassessment and is now regarded as one of the finest science-fiction horror films ever made. Rob Bottin’s extraordinary practical creature effects, Ennio Morricone’s atmospheric score and Carpenter’s masterful direction have helped the film become a genuine cult classic.
Printed in 2021, this alternative movie poster uses glow in the dark inks and comes from a limited edition of just 100 copies worldwide with this particular example hand-numbered 4/100.
