…more detailAward winning film poster design courtesy of BLT Communications. The poster campaign artwork for Martin Scorsese’s 2008 ‘Rolling Stones’ documentary “Shine A Light” is outstanding. Live action black and white imagery of the band is the major feature of great looking poster. An highly entertaining and engrossing music documentary film for one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time. Showing in only a handful of independent and art-house cinemas the advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce. This originally rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect and certainly looks impressive and represents a fantastic item of original collectable music and movie memorabilia.
Trivia: As Keith Richards sings “You Got the Silver”, he wears a trench-coat with a pirate pin on the collar. This is a gift from working on “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007).”

“SUZI Q” is Liam Firmager’s ‘rockumentary’ of trailblazing American rock singer-songwriter Suzi Quatro, who helped redefine the role of women in rock ‘n’ roll when she broke out in 1973 selling over 50 million records on the way. The original UK quad film poster to accompany the release features the ‘Devil-Gate Drive’ rocker in all her glam-glory with a striking retro image. The advertising campaign for the movie was very low key and the UK film posters that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release are truly scarce. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays as new…a fantastic collectable item of music, film and cultural memorabilia presented in excellent condition.

Furthermore, it also follows how the ‘Fab Four’ began to change and grow while the excitement of ‘Beatlemania’ began to sour their lives into an intolerable slog they needed to escape from. A mesmeric and engrossing rock documentary film for one of the greatest and most influential bands of all time. “The Independent said…There is something comical but uplifting in the baffled ecstasy he feels in still being alive”
Quite honestly some of the finest poster artwork I have seen on a ‘modern’ poster. In these days of digital design it’s a pleasure to see and handle such a beautiful item. Designed by Jonny Halifax for Julien Temple’s film ‘The Ecstasy Of Wilko Johnson’, and winner of the SXSW 2015 Excellence in Poster Design Special Jury Recognition Award this is a special and very rare film poster. After the film’s cinematic premiere held in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust in London at the Picturehouse on Shaftesbury Avenue on 17th July 2015 it was only screened in a very limited number of select ‘art-house’ cinemas making any paper from the release exceptionally scarce and sought after with the artist himself releasing limited edition prints of the artwork which immediately sold out and have become collectors items in their own right. The poster offered here is a genuine UK quad film poster from the initial 2015 release, not a copy. Printed on heavy stock paper with a four colour silk screen print finish this originally rolled example displays superbly…An incredibly rare and collectable piece of music/film memorabilia.

“THE WHO: You’ve heard the sounds. Now live the life. Because only seeing is believing !”
A rare Country of Origin UK Quad movie poster from the original year of release 1979 for THE DEFINITIVE ROCK DOCUMENTARY – “The Kids Are Alright”. Starring The Who in all their glory, Jeff Stein’s rock documentary is a rock and roll rollercoaster ride, showing just why every kid who could wield an air guitar wanted to be in The Who. The photograph was shot by Art Kane and the Carl Shurz Monument in Morningside Heights in New York City. Originally folded (as issued) this original unrestored example presents to excellent effect with amazing colours and superb ‘Cool Britannia’ graphics…A fantastic piece of very desirable and collectable music/ movie / cultural memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential rock bands that Great Britain has ever produced.
Trivia: The film’s title “The Kids Are Alright” is taken from the title of one of The Who’s songs. While the song appears in the film during the closing credits, it does not appear on the soundtrack album for the film.
…more detail“The curious title refers to the last time the district of Civetta won the Palio in 1979. Il Palio is distinctive because the jockeys do not represent the 17 districts of the Siennese region – the horses do. This film trains its eye on the Civetta community, desperate for a win in the race after a drought of over 20 years”
John Appel’s excellent and entertaining docu-drama based upon the annual horserace called the ‘Palio’ held in the city’s center piazza (Piazza del Campo) in Siena, Italy. A very limited cinema release in ‘art-house’ & ‘independent’ theatres meant the posters for this enjoyable film are in extremely short supply, which is a shame as the design and production quality is of a very high standard. The imagery (and it’s not often I speak positively about a single image photographic film poster) is excellent, very colourful with genuine warmth and passion; the spirit of the ‘palio’ is truly embodied in it. The original UK quad film poster offered here is from first year of release 2004 and as it was originally rolled (as issued) it looks and presents to very good effect…A very rare find, this scarce, exceptional looking piece represents very collectable & desirable movie memorabilia.
