Tim Burton’s “Batman” revolutionised superhero cinema with its stunning Gothic production design and dark brooding atmosphere. Burton’s directorial vision and Michael Keaton’s surprisingly strong portrayal earned widespread praise, but it Jack Nicholson’s unforgettable Joker performance that wowed the audience as he literally ‘stole the show’. There are some amazing images of Nicholson in what has become a signature role for him (just think of how good he would have been in a sequel) as the marketing team missed a trick by not including him on any campaign posters. They did make up for their oversight though by including him on the lobby cards and a number of the black and white press promotional stills. The still here features the Joker from the museum scene; one of the most memorable from the movie as Batman (Keaton) rescues Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger), accompanied by Prince’s ‘Partyman’ playing in the background. Presented in excellent flat and unfolded condition, this original promotional still from 1989 is a super cool item of Batman cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Jack Nicholson said of his role, “The thing I like about the Joker is that his sense of humor is completely tasteless.” He later said The Joker was one of his favorite roles he played.

Simple, purchase this incredible, hand-numbered (#96/275) screen print from Matt Ferguson for Joel Schumacher’s 1995 comic book caper “Batman Forever”. Ferguson’s ongoing Batman and Batmobile series continues, and this time, he’s got Seal’s Kiss from a Rose blaring out of the Bat-stereo. “Batman Forever” is a visually spectacular movie combining a colourful cast, and a bonkers plot that while divisive, is undoubtedly wildly entertaining and whilst Jim Carrey is no Jack Nicholson, his Riddler steals the show from one-time Batman – Val KIlmer. Ferguson’s Batmobile series focuses on Bruce Wayne’s incredible rides from throughout Batman’s history, and he’s added a ton of fun details and Easter eggs from both the film and general Ferguson lore. Originally rolled (as issued) this displays to excellent effect with the day glo, neon coloured inks adding a real kinetic energy to the imagery and represents a truly eye-catching alternative movie poster from one of the most memorable Batman movies.
Trivia: This is the first movie to refer to Batman as “The Dark Knight”.

“Out of the darkness…comes the Knight.”
There were some outstanding posters produced for Christopher Nolan’s 2008 “Batman Begins” sequel “The Dark Knight” but this advance “Coming Soon” teaser takes the plaudits…a truly stunning looking film poster designed by Crew Creative Advertising. This International one sheet was printed in USA for use in United Kingdom and Europe and depicts the Batman silhouetted against a striking city scape and is the rarest of any paper for the movie. The photograph really doesn’t do this poster justice. Originally rolled (as issued) this beautiful unrestored example displays and presents to magnificent effect and represents a hugely collectable item of modern original movie memorabilia from a truly outstanding film franchise and an icon of modern pop culture…“The night is darkest before the dawn.”
Trivia: In Sir Michael Caine‘s opinion, Heath Ledger beat the odds and topped Jack Nicholson‘s Joker from Batman (1989): “Jack was like a clown figure, benign but wicked, maybe a killer old uncle. He could be funny and make you laugh. Heath’s gone in a completely different direction to Jack, he’s like a really scary psychopath. He’s a lovely guy and his Joker is going to be a hell of a revelation in this picture.” Caine bases this belief on a scene where The Joker pays a visit to Bruce Wayne’s penthouse. He’d never met Ledger before, so when Ledger arrived and performed, he gave Caine such a fright, he forgot his lines.

Where the previous ‘teaser’ posters had highlighted ‘The Joker’ this style firmly pushes a heroic Batman with the hint of his troubles to come illustrated by a flaming bat logo. An all-action sci-fi vista of a film poster for Glen A. Larson’s ‘epic’ “Battlestar Galactica”. Receiving a full cinematic release it was an edited together version of three TV shows released in the USA largely to cash in, on the still very popular ‘Star Wars’ phenomena. With some colourful, dynamic sci-fi artwork by Robert Tanenbaum (a homage to Tom Chantrell’s famous art for ‘Star Wars’ perhaps ?) this original 1978 country of origin US one-sheet movie poster is presented in original unrestored, folded (as issued) condition. It displays to impactful effect with light age and handling wear; colours are deep and unfaded with some truly rip roaring laser blasting, robot, space ship adventure imagery. A cool item that represents a fantastic piece of very collectable and desirable original movie memorabilia for a much loved and hugely popular film and TV franchise.
Trivia: John Dykstra, who worked on Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) used much of the technology developed for ILM in this movie, including his motion control camera, the so-called “Dykstraflex”.

Largely due to the “Star Wars” effect and the huge global popularity of the “Dungeons & Dragons” role playing game, the 1980’s truly was the decade of the mystical sword and sorcery fantasy. Don Coscarelli’s “Beastmaster” has stood the test of time well and is fondly remembered with a large and loyal fanbase. Boasting some of the best fantasy art seen on a movie poster by the advertising agency FEREF (Eddie Paul) with finished art byJosh Kirby this original 1982 UK quad for “Beastmaster” certainly impresses. Scarce and hard to find in this high grade condition, this originally folded (as issued) example looks fantastic and presents in exceptional condition that represents a fine piece of hugely collectable original 80’s sci-fi fantasy movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Director Don Coscarelli decided to set the story in a sort of Bronze Age milieu because he was a long time fan of Steve Reeves, Ray Harryhausen, and sword and sandal flicks.

“Go back to where it all began. She’s Done Running From Her Past!”
Creative design agency LA pulled out all the stops when they issued the marketing campaign posters for the Marvel Studios’ long-awaited blockbuster “Black Widow”. This original 2021 US / International style one-sheet movie poster for Marvel’s all action super hero romp is certainly impressive with Natasha Romanoff, better known as the deadly ‘Black Widow’ beautifully realised and taking centre stage; standing proud and battle ready. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks stunning and displays and presents to excellent effect. One of the best looking posters to date for any of the prolific Marvel Studios releases with spectacular imagery. A hugely important and collectable piece of movie memorabilia from the Studio that can do no wrong for if first appearances in movies follows the same trend as the comics then with their rumoured appearances in the forthcoming ‘Thunderbolts’ production of Florence Pugh, Taskmaster and Red Guardian appearing in this instalment it is a must have item that represents a fine piece of collectable modern cinema movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Black Widow’s wrist-mounted tasers, commonly referred to as her Widow bites or gauntlets, for the first time are painted gold. This is an homage to Natasha’s classic Black Widow costume from the comics, which was an all-black suit with a gold ringed belt and gold gauntlets.

One of the few films that truly deserves to be called a ‘classic’. John Landis’ 1980 action comedy rollercoaster “The Blues Brothers”. Over the years this movie has built up a huge cult following and established itself as the benchmark for which other action comedy films are compared against; it’s not many that come close. Any paper from the original release is very sought after – making this complete set of all eight (8) British front of house lobby cards hugely desirable. Featuring Jake (John Belushi) & Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) Blues on five of the cards and some of the comedy action scenes on the remaining three, this really is a superb set of displayable images that perfectly illustrates the film’s fun mood and chaotic vibe. Originally flat and unfolded (as issued) they display very well and represents a fine example of original and collectable movie memorabilia for the screens best loved anarchic action musical comedy that is “The Blues Brothers”

A guaranteed original 1995 UK Quad movie poster for Mel Gibson’s Oscar winning historical epic “Braveheart”. Designed by the creative arts agency InSync Plus this classic UK quad film poster issued for the Oscar winning epic is presented rolled (as issued) in high grade condition and displays superbly. Perfectly suited by the landscape format the imagery features both Mel Gibson as the Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace and the beautiful Sophie Marceau as Princess Isabelle with the battlefield of Stirling acting as a stunning backdrop. This amazing example looks beautiful and represents a fantastic piece of original cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Mel Gibson was on location for 105 consecutive days, and it took its toll on his body. He said that this film was more physically taxing than shooting three “Lethal Weapon” movies in a row.
