A personal favourite and up there for me with “Jason and the Argonauts” as one of the greatest (and most colourful) action, adventure movies of all-time, with both boasting a superb poster and hat statement is illustrated here with a magnificent, original 1958 UK Quad movie poster for Richard Fleischer’s “The Vikings”. Originally folded (as issued) this beautiful poster displays to very good effect with vibrant, deep, unfaded colours and fantastic imagery of the two stars Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis. Rarely available with this being the first time we have ever offered one for sale, it represents a fine example of cinematic movie memorabilia and one of the best looking and most collectable film posters from the genre.
Trivia: Stuntmen had practiced for weeks for the oar walking scenes. Kirk Douglas told director Richard Fleischer that he could do it and did several times. At one point when he did fall in the icy water he calmly swam over to the camera boat and asked if they had gotten good shots. He then swam back to the Viking longboat. Fleischer noted they were watching and filming an activity that had not been done in 1000 years.

“Flesh to touch…Flesh to burn! Don’t keep the Wicker Man waiting !”
An outstanding modern example of a true British classic. An original 2023 Country of Origin British UK quad film poster for Robin Hardy’s cult horror masterpiece “The Wicker Man”. One of the most sought after titles of the horror genre. Completely new and re-imagined artwork was commissioned for the 50th Anniversary release of the movie featuring pagan dancers and only a glimpse of the sacrificial ‘wicker man’. Dubbed the ‘Final Cut’ the sound and print quality have been remastered to satiate the demands of the modern movie goer . Totally original and unrestored this rolled (as issued) poster displays and presents to excellent effect that due to the very limited cinematic screenings represents a super rare & sought item of authentic country of origin British horror movie memorabilia…“Come…It is time to keep your appointment with the Wicker Man.”
Trivia: Many years after making this movie, Edward Woodward re-visited some of the locations and claimed that he found the makeshift cross (that Howie makes out of some pieces of wood) still intact where it was left in the original scene.

The late 1970’s is generally regarded as a ‘golden’ age for explosive action movies at the cinema and in 1978 three of the greatest, hard drinking actors of their generation were signed up to star in Andrew V.McLaglen’s British actioner “The Wild Geese”. Released at a time to be considered politically incorrect it never achieved the success or praise it richly deserved but has since gone on to be a firm favourite with fans of gritty action genre films. The artwork of the original 1978 movie poster has been adapted here to complement the 2025 4K Remastered release and once again offers some exceptional character driven artwork by Arnaldo Putzu of Roger Moore, Richard Harris, Hardy Kruger and Richard Burton against an eye catching golden backdrop that really accentuates Putzu’s imagery. Originally rolled (as issued) with minimal handling wear this beautiful film poster represents a truly outstanding example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia from one of the best British action films of the late 70’s. These posters are unique to the UK and extremely scarce and used only to promote the very limited cinema screenings.
Trivia: Sir Roger Moore requested to have fewer lines in his scenes with Sir Richard Burton and Richard Harris. This kind of request was almost unheard of from a major star. His reasoning was, “You don’t seriously expect me to act against these guys?”

John Carpenter’s tale of alien occupation “They Live” is part horror, part sci-fi and part social satire, all viewed through dark sun-glasses of Nada played by ex-professional wrestler Roddy Piper. Considered one of Carpenter’s best it was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “Escape From New York”, “Prince of Darkness” and “The Fog”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 216. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.
Trivia: Artist Shepard Fairey credits the film as a major source of inspiration, sharing a similar logo to his “OBEY” campaign. “They Live was…the basis for my use of the word ‘obey’,” Fairey said. “The movie has a very strong message about the power of commercialism and the way that people are manipulated by advertising.”

One of the best time-travel romps ever made and a personal favourite for a bit of me time “Time After Time” sees inventor and writer H.G. Wells pursue the notorious London serial killer Jack the Ripper through time from Victorian England to late 1970’s San Francisco. The British UK quad film poster that accompanied its release is a clever design from first year of release, 1979 and features a stop watch transforming into a digital clock and a top hat and tails attired Wells’ taking on the appearance of a 1970’s attired man. Originally folded (as issued) this excellent unrestored example displays superbly with only minimal age and handling wear that represents a fine item of collectable film movie memorabilia.

Trivia: A deleted scene featured Wells meeting a punk who was playing extremely loud boom-box music on a bus in San Francisco. Nicholas Meyer later reused this idea in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986).

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s and Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 sci-fi ultra-violent actioner “Total Recall” produced one of the most distinctive film posters of Schwarzenegger’s impressive career. Designed by the Seiniger Advertising agency it features a bright blue close up of Arnold’s face, offset against an outer space filled background and the mysterious ‘Pyramids of Mars’. A clever adaption of the Philip K. Dick short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” and one of the cinematic high points for both Schwarzenegger and Verhoeven with physical special effects that have stood the test of time well. It’s a tough poster to find in high grade condition as any blemishes show up easily (especially on folded examples) because of the dark colours used. That is not the case here as this originally rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect and represents a truly outstanding and scarce item of highly sought after movie memorabilia.
Trivia: When Ronald Shusett and Dan O’Bannon first started working on the screenplay for this movie back in the 1970s, they realized that the movie would probably be too expensive and difficult to make (by the standards of special effects and budget at the time). They delayed working on the story and instead worked on an idea O’Bannon had about a space monster terrorizing a spaceship crew. This became Alien (1979).

“The name Megatron was originally rejected by Hasbro for being too scary. Bob Budiansky, the writer tasked with naming the characters, argued that, as a villain, his name should be scary.”
Hasbro’s Transformers was one of the most popular animated TV shows and toy-lines of the 1980s. being so successful that it warranted a big screen, cinematic movie “Transformers: The Movie” and then forty years later a special cinema experience developed by Hasbro that combined key episodes and new features with the original voice actors for both Megatron (Frank Welker) and Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) was released in cinemas worldwide for a strictly limited three day screening run. With colourful and exciting action-packed poster artwork promising everything that the award winning fantasy cartoon TV series offered and more. These posters are extremely scarce with this originally rolled (as issued) example a marvellous item of retro nostalgia. Totally feel good, original cinematic movie memorabilia for a franchise and toy-line that has weathered the test of time with a series of reimagined big budget CGI Michael Bay blockbusters and is just as popular today as it was when first released.
Trivia: In 2006, Peter Cullen said, “I kind of modeled Optimus Prime’s voice out of many people I had known over the years, my family especially. My brother was a captain in the Marine Corps, and a very big hero in my life. His approach to serious situations was always calm and controlled [and] authoritative. So my brother is in there. Even my dad, too, [and] former friends who have now departed but are strong in my memory.” The voice has also been compared to that of John Wayne, but Cullen said, “John Wayne was never intended to be the sound, but he did come out every now and then.”

Released on Netflix in July 2023 “WHAM!” is one the channel’s most streamed programmes, documenting (largely through the scrap book diaries kept by Andrew Ridgeley’s Mum) the effervescent rise of the happy go lucky pop duo and the emergence of George into a global solo singer/song-writer superstar. Prior to the film’s Netflix release it was screened for one-night only on June 27th in only a small number of select cinemas throughout the UK. The poster (a UK quad) used to accompany and promote this release features the imagery of photographer Chris Craymer. His photograph perfectly captures the charm, bubbliness, friendship and true happiness of the duo as they were starting out on their musical journey. Incredibly rare, due to the very limited number of cinemas showing the movie, this originally rolled (as issued) example displays superbly and represents a fantastic and hugely collectable item of music and movie memorabilia.
Trivia: “Wham! was one of the most commercially successful pop acts of the 1980s They ended up selling more than 30 million certified records worldwide between 1982 to 1986.”

Trivia: The distinctive snakeskin jacket Sailor wears in the film was actually Nicolas Cage‘s own. Cage asked director David Lynch if he could wear the jacket in the film, as a tribute to Marlon Brando‘s role in The Fugitive Kind (1960). After filming was completed, Cage gave his jacket to Laura Dern.
