Steven Shainberg’s multi award winning and controversial film “Secretary” certainly caused a few eyebrows to be raised when released in 2002 dealing with a master/slave relationship of an unlikely couple played by James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Made by the award winning team responsible for the excellent “AMY”, “SENNA” tells the tragic story of the late Formula 1 motor racing legend Ayrton Senna da Silva – ‘The best driver who ever lived’ – Niki Lauda. The original 2010 UK quad film poster to accompany the release was designed by the Creative Partnership creative arts agency , who have produced a poignant and eye catching piece based around a fantastic close up head shot photograph by Norio Koike. The advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce. Guaranteed original, it is presented in excellent rolled (as issued) condition and represents a superb example of desirable and collectable original film movie, sports, motor racing memorabilia for one of the sport’s greatest and much loved personalities.
Trivia: Despite a limited release, it set a UK box office record for a documentary on its opening weekend.

Created by Empire Design with finished artwork by Michael Godard this award winning original 2000 UK quad film poster is a fantastic looking piece…a deeply sunburnt Gal (Ray Winstone) relaxing in an over-sized martini glass offset against a dark black background; a simple that stays in the memory. Originally rolled (as issued) this poster displays beautifully and is presented in exceptional condition with some of the best design seen on a modern poster. Incredibly scarce this fine example represents hugely collectable original movie memorabilia from a cult British crime thriller.
Trivia: Ray Winstone travelled to Spain two weeks before filming commenced to get as deep a tan as he could in the time possible and to eat as much as he could to bulk up considerably. He called it “the best rehearsal time I’ve ever had in my life.”

By far the rarest and most desirable film poster for Jonathan Glazer’s dark brit-gangster thriller “Sexy Beast”. Produced by Empire Design this award winning original 2000 UK/International one sheet film poster is an incredible looking example…a deeply sunburnt Gal (Ray Winstone) relaxing poolside whilst the menacing shadow of his former partner in crime, Don (Sir Ben Kingsley) approaches; all photographed in blazing sunlight – you can feel the heat. Extremely scarce, this poster displays beautifully being originally rolled (as issued) and is presented in excellent condition with one of the memorable designs seen on a ‘modern’ poster. An impressive and highly collectable example of original cinematic memorabilia.

Award winning film poster design courtesy of BLT Communications. The poster campaign artwork for Martin Scorsese’s 2008 ‘Rolling Stones’ documentary “Shine A Light” is outstanding. Live action black and white imagery of the band is the major feature of great looking poster. An highly entertaining and engrossing music documentary film for one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time. Showing in only a handful of independent and art-house cinemas the advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce. This originally rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect and certainly looks impressive and represents a fantastic item of original collectable music and movie memorabilia.
Trivia: As Keith Richards sings “You Got the Silver”, he wears a trench-coat with a pirate pin on the collar. This is a gift from working on “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007).”

Jonathan Demme’s “The Silence of the Lambs” is one of the best horror thriller movies ever made; excellent Award winning performances, full of dark humour and gory thrills. This original pair of 1991 British double crowns features a design by Marcus Silversides commissioned by the design agency BLT Communications which really is two clever and visually stunning pieces of complementing artwork with an amazing use of colour (white and pale colour tones for Clarice and deep, blood red for Lecter) and imagery featuring skull adorned winged moths over both Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal Lecter) and Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) leading characters’ mouths. Presented in very good condition these rolled (as issued) examples display superbly and represent fine pieces of original cinematic movie memorabilia.

Trivia: When Sir Anthony Hopkins found out that he was cast as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, based on his performance as Dr. Frederick Treves in The Elephant Man (1980), he questioned director Jonathan Demme, and said “But Dr. Treves was a good man”, to which Demme replied “So is Lecter, he is a good man too. Jonathan Demme’s “The Silence of the Lambs” is one of the best horror thriller movies ever made; excellent Award winning performances, full of dark humour and gory thrills. For this 2023 Mad Duck release, artist Paul Mann has produced a scene based alternative movie poster. The scene featured is a pivotal scene as Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) meets with Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal Lecter) for the first time and it’s the only scene in the movie in which both actors actually appear in the same frame. Screen print finish with varnish over the glass, this hand-numbered example #180/250 is presented in excellent rolled (as issued) condition that display superbly and represents a fine item of movie poster memorabilia.

“To Cut a Long Story Short”…It’s not many films that get a a London premiere at the Royal Albert Hall, but then it’s not every film that tells the story of meteoric rise, fall and ultimate reunion of new romantic pop sensations, Spandau Ballet. The advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce. It really is a great snap shot of the 80’s image of the band from their first visit to New York. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays as new. Never commercially available the posters for this release are unbelievably scarce…fantastic item of Spandau Ballet / New Romantics / film / cultural memorabilia presented in investment grade condition !
