“Bolt Your Doors. Lock Your Windows. There’s something in The Fog !”
After the huge success of Halloween John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally creepy horror The Fog. Taking creepy imagery from the movie the US one-sheet features silhouetted zombie pirates in a ‘fog’ filed room. The original movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1980 and displays to excellent effect. Originally folded (as issued) it is presented in unrestored condition with only minimal handling wear. Great horror imagery on a genuinely rare cult classic from the Carpenter archives that represents extremely desirable and collectable movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Although this was essentially a low budget independent movie, John Carpenter chose to shoot the movie in anamorphic widescreen Panavision. This decision gave the movie a grander feel for the viewer so this didn’t seem like a low budget horror movie.

After the huge success of “Halloween” John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally memorable horror “The Fog” – a guilty pleasure film of mine as I love how well Carpenter develops the tension and tells the story with great cinematography, sound, and use of locations. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so it was no surprise that this title was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “They Live”, “Escape From New York” and “Prince of Darkness”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 224. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.

In 2004 a film was released that defined the modern ‘British lad football culture’….that film was “The Football Factory” and the genre is still going strong and showing no sign of flagging. “The Football Factory” stars two actors who have very much cornered the market in ‘loveable’ rogues…Danny Dyer & Tamer Hassan. The originally rolled (as issued) UK quad film poster offered here displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with minimal handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Tommy Johnson walks into a lounge where his friend Rod is playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002). This game was made by Rockstar Games, who are also credited as being Executive Producers for the movie. Also, Danny Dyer who plays Tommy Johnson in Football Factory was the voice of Kent Paul in Vice City.

Scarce original UK quad film poster from one of the best thrillers of the 70’s…William Friedkin’s multi Oscar winning thriller “The French Connection”. Impressive, country unique (UK) artwork featuring hard hitting all-action photo style imagery highlighting the anti-hero Popeye Doyle (Gene Hackman) offset against the grainy New York skyline. A critical and commercial success and perhaps the best British movie (gangster or otherwise) ever made…John MacKenzie’s “The Long Good Friday”. Receiving a very limited release in UK cinemas (it was nearly never released due to financial problems & only saved as a cinematic production by George Harrison, with his Handmade Films stepping in at the 11th hour) meant that any paper is scarce, making this original 1980 UK quad film poster a rare find especially in such high grade condition. Featuring stark black & white country unique design & artwork, this excellent unrestored example presents near perfectly. This original They Live movie poster is probably the scarcest of all the John Carpenter paper from the series of four (Escape From New York, Prince of Darkness, The Fog & They Live) 2018 remastered re-releases and a very rare find in such excellent condition as offered here…The original 2018 Japanese B2 film poster for John Carpenter’s They Live was originally rolled (as issued) & presents in exceptional original unrestored condition with great detailed artwork (unique to the Japanese re-release, as the other posters produced for these releases all feature new re-imaging artwork by Matt Ferguson) & strong vibrant colours. “Five Criminals…One Line Up…No Coincidence.”
A classic movie poster from a classic 90’s crime thriller. A lovely rolled (as issued) Japanese B2 movie poster for Bryan Singer’s 1995 thought provoking mystery thriller “The Usual Suspects”. The clever imagery has the memorable line-up scene featuring the five ‘usual suspects’ – Kevin Pollak, Stephen Baldwin, Benicio Del Toro, Gabriel Byrne and Kevin Spacey. This Japanese poster design shows Kevin Spacey WITH a watch on. Many other posters from the U.S. and other countries had the watch removed as it gave clues to the film’s surprise ending. This example displays to excellent effect and represents a great looking item of original cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Verbal Kint says, “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist.” This quote from the French poet Charles Baudelaire also appears in End of Days (1999), also featuring Gabriel Byrne and Kevin Pollak.

One of the most defining cinematic images of the 20th century, Saul Bass’ spiral poster design for this classic 1958 Alfred Hitchcock thriller “Vertigo” has become synonymous with the film. Bass’s intention to convey the feeling of vertigo through this design is clearly felt in his simple and stylish graphics, symbolising the downward spiral of events in the movie’s timeline. The fourth and final time that James Stewart would work with Alfred Hitchcock, with both turning in career-defining performances. “Vertigo” consistently makes the shortlist for ‘Greatest Movie of All-Time’ with the influential movie magazine ‘Sight & Sound’ making it their Number One film of all time. From the 1996 re-release this one-sheet is a beautiful example of a sought-after piece of important movie memorabilia. The bold red colour is bright with deep black lettering and bright white background and border. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect, absolutely stunning; the classic vortex design is truly eye-catching. Guaranteed original this represents an extremely scarce item of modern original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly remarkable film.
Trivia: The opening title sequence designed by Saul Bass makes this the first movie to use computer graphics.
