Trivia: Several decades after the film’s release, Lee Fierro, who played Mrs. Kintner, walked into a seafood restaurant and noticed that the menu had an “Alex Kintner Sandwich.” She commented that she had played his mother so many years ago; the owner of the restaurant ran out to meet her, and he was none other than Jeffrey Voorhees, who had played her son. They had not seen each other since the original movie shoot.
What is Giclee ?
Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.
The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.
Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

There are a lot of alternative ‘Jaws’ posters on the market with this 2020 offering considered one of the best and most desirable with beautiful imagery. This wonderful design, featuring the second on screen victim – Alex Kitner is very clever as Alex is seen running on the Amity beach, the sea in the background and if you look closely the black Labrador Pippin about to run into the sea and meet his grisly fate. Look closer and you see an additional easter egg as one of the kites flying high above the beach resembles a black shark’s fin; a nod to Durieux’s earlier 2013 Jaws poster where the same fin is shown on a sunshade. This originally rolled, unfolded (as issued) example displays to exceptional effect. Durieux’s style is unmistakable with perfect, colours and composition. A truly outstanding and extremely rare art print that represents an impressive item of highly sought after modern movie memorabilia.

The blood red background silhouetting the infamous T-rex skeleton makes for the most iconic and instantly recognisable logo in cinema history. It can only be Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster “Jurassic Park”. Ground breaking and game changing are phrases banded around far to easily in this day of modern cinema but “Jurassic Park” truly deserves these accolades. A massive worldwide success on its release with merchandising and memorabilia hugely sought after with the logo style design being the most desirable. Re-released for a very limited cinematic run in 2011 the original iconic design and colour palette has been reworked, using a striking silver background. The UK quad film poster offered here displays and presents to excellent effect. From an aesthetic point of view I have always preferred the landscape format of the quad, as feel it suits the design (and is much more impressive) than the portrait style of a one-sheet. A fine piece of original movie memorabilia from the film that kickstarted the CGI phenomenon and made millions fall in love with a T-Rex.
Trivia: In 2005, paleontologist Dr. Mary Schweitzer discovered red blood cells and soft tissue in the fossilized bones of a T. Rex, meaning dinosaur cloning may someday become a reality.

A magnificent example for one of the best feelgood films ever made…Richard Donner’s “The Goonies”. Add to the mix Steven Spielberg & Chris Columbus it was a guaranteed box office hit, but just to make sure they commissioned movie poster maestro Noriyoshi Ohrai to create an alternative style poster for the Japanese marketing campaign that complemented and could be displayed next to Drew Struzan’s familiar ‘hanging’ design . Ohrai in turn produced some of the best work of his career as featured here on this original 1985 Style A Japanese B2 film poster. The portrait format is perfectly suited to his design which is fondly referred to as the ‘One-Eyed Willie’ style. Originally rolled (as issued) this unrestored example looks incredible with amazing vibrant colour tones. The sails required more than 7,000 square feet of material, the largest measured 30ft by 60ft. Some of the ship’s rigging was recycled for the Pirates of the Caribbean ship at Disneyland, which was being renovated at the time.
