  • John Carpenter's The Thing Alternative Movie Poster

    John Carpenter’s The Thing

    £595.00

“Man is The Warmest Place to Hide”

An outstanding alternative movie poster by the maestro of British horror art, Graham Humphreys for John Carpenter’s horror, sci-fi classic “The Thing”. This superb limited edition example is incredibly rare in any edition and to offer an Artist Proof example (this is hand-numbered #10/10) is indeed a bonus. Antarctic Alien terror never looked better than this, thanks to Humphreys’ stunning imagery, MacReady (Kurt Russell) and the Thing illustrations are perfectly realised, with beautiful colour tones. Released in 2023 as an exclusive Private Commission, this immediately sold out when launched. Originally rolled, flat-unfolded (as issued) the example offered displays to exceptional effect and represents a truly outstanding and extremely desirable item of collectable movie memorabilia with a ‘modern’ twist…“Did you notice anything strange about the dog that arrived yesterday? Anything at all?”

Trivia: Unused music composed for this film was later used by Ennio Morricone in Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight (2015). Ironically, Morricone’s Thing score was nominated for a Razzie for worst score, while his score for Hateful Eight won him an Oscar.

  • Predator-Movie-Poster

    Predator

    £175.00

“It came for the thrill of the hunt…It picked the wrong man to hunt !”

One of the best films of the 1980’s and certainly one of Schwarzenegger’s finest roles, Predator is a film I’ve seen more times than I care to remember. Directed by John McTiernan, who would go on to helm “Die Hard” the following year (arguably the greatest action movie ever made), the film is an excellent mix of gung-ho action and sci-fi horror with a truly iconic monster (designed by Stan Winston). The rare and original Japanese B2 film poster offered here is the ‘Cast’ style from first year of release 1987 with ‘Dutch’ (Schwarzenegger) prominent and a photo montage of the other leading actors in a design that is unique to Japan. Considered a classic by Arnie’s legion of fans & collectors of the action / sci fi genre it is incredibly scarce in this format. Originally rolled (as issued) this beautiful unrestored example displays and presents to excellent effect…Sought after and extremely hard to find in this high grade condition it represents a fine piece of very collectable Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi action movie memorabilia.

Trivia: The mandibles of the Predator were the idea of James Cameron.

  • Terminator 2: Judgement Day Movie Poster

    Terminator 2: Judgement Day

    £395.00

“He Said He’d Be Back…and He Certainly is !”

Sci-fi movies can rarely be made in such way that can be looked at as works of art. This is one of the few exceptions. The prediction of judgment day with Hamilton watching a playground full of kids be burnt to the ground is an absolute brilliant portrayal of Armageddon. The theme that men will destroy themselves is also shown throughout the movie also and is even said by The Terminator…“It’s in your nature to destroy yourselves”. This brings the movie to a whole new level of sci-fi and one of the most sought after of titles by collectors of the genre and Schwarzenegger’s vast legion of fans. Offered here is a scarce large format Japanese B1 movie poster (equivalent to a standard one-sheet) for James Cameron’s sci-fi, time travel, shoot ’em up uber-actioner “Terminator 2: Judgement Day”. This example is often referred to as the ‘Smoke’ version featuring Schwarzenegger’s Terminator emerging from the smoke. In a design that’s unique to Japan the largely black and white imagery features Arnie’s eyes finished in a blazing red, leaving you in no doubt he is a Terminator. One of the most influential film of the past 25+ years with ground breaking CGI special effects and spectacular action set pieces. A very hard film poster to find in this fine unrestored rolled (as issued) condition that represents an impressive and stylish item of original cinematic movie memorabilia.

Trivia: Given Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s US $15 million salary, and his total of seven hundred words of dialogue, he was paid $21,429 per word. “Hasta la vista, baby” cost $85,716.
