Zombies, Nazis, stranded holiday makers and Peter Cushing…if this sounds like your kind of fun then you probably are a fan of Ken Wiederhorn’s enjoyable horror romp “Almost Human” (AKA Shock Waves). Nostalgic 70’s hokum that is complemented by a first rate film poster as the SS ‘Death Corps’ take centre stage in a great example of horror artwork…good use of bold day-glo colours in the title and striking well balanced design. Certainly a rare find and even more so in such excellent high grade condition. Originally rolled (as issued) this 1977 UK quad film poster is offered in superb unrestored condition and presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a rare piece of hugely collectable original 70’s horror movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The zombies weren’t originally supposed to be wearing goggles but when extra Max Trumpton returned from recent glaucoma surgery in protective eyewear the director liked the ‘look’ so much he instructed the wardrobe department to make a pair for each zombie.

In keeping with the previous four instalments and very much against the norm for modern movie posters, the fifth adventure for everyone’s favourite archaeologist – “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” sees a beautiful piece of artwork by Tony Stella. Stella brings his own unique style to what, the purists is a more traditional movie poster. Ford is the featured point of interest with action scenes and supporting characters making up the background, as the familiar various shades of orange and brown dominate the colour palette. A perfect addition to the canon. This is a classic action adventure poster from the ultimate adventure movie series that presents to excellent effect and is offered in beautiful rolled, unfolded (as issued) unrestored original condition. A truly fine piece of original country of origin movie memorabilia for a character and franchise that has proved to be one of the best loved and highly successful franchises in film history.

Stunning example of this much loved action-comedy-war ensemble piece. This is a very rare original 1970 first release UK quad film poster for Brian G. Hutton’s “Kelly’s Heroes” and features some fantastic adventure war artwork with great characterisations of its all-star cast; the colourful character driven imagery is a real highlight. Folded (as issued) this original unrestored UK quad film poster is from first year of release in Britain…One of the best posters from the war genre…This is a true first printing poster from this popular title; full bleed artwork to the edges (no border or white spaces) with superb deep unfaded colours. Trivia: The movie was mainly filmed in Yugoslavia because the Yugoslavian army still had a large quantity of Sherman tanks in 1970.

Being on almost constant release since it premiered in 1981 “Raiders of the Lost Ark” received an updated movie poster for the ‘official’ re-release in 1982. Artistic duties were again assigned to Richard Amsel who produced a more exciting, action packed offering. The overall ancient/papyrus styling remained but now Indiana Jones is featured in trademark bull-whip cracking pose offset against the Ark of the Covenant with the strong supporting cast beautifully rendered around the borders. A better image than the original ? Not really just slightly different and a perfect addition to the canon. This rare classic adventure poster from the ultimate adventure movie presents extremely well and is offered in beautiful rolled, unfolded (as issued) unrestored original condition. Trivia: Freeze-framing during the Well of Souls scene, you can notice a golden pillar with a tiny engraving of R2-D2 and C-3PO from the Star Wars saga. They are also on the wall behind Indy when they first approach the Ark.

This original 1991 British Quad film poster is a steam punk art-deco delight featuring the incredible artwork of John Mattos. Truly beautiful imagery that’s perfectly suited to the Republic Pulp Serial approach of Joe Johnston’s “Rocketeer”. Based upon Dave Stevens’ graphic comic novel the Walt Disney Studio produced an enjoyable stylised romp set in the early days of pulp comics and superheroes that quickly became a cult favourite. The Advance film poster offered here is by far the most sought after of paper produced for the Film as it’s all artwork with just the title. The landscape format perfectly suits John Mattos’ dynamic super hero artwork. This unrestored, original rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect. Genuinely scarce and highly desirable, not just to film buffs (the art-deco design appeals to number of collectors) this superb piece represents a fantastic piece of desirable film movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Artist and creator of the ‘Rocketeer’ Dave Stevens played the man in the test flight movie, who has the rocket pack strapped to his back (the test pilot).

Notable for a mix of striking Frank McCarthy artwork and photographs (a typical feature of Japanese poster design) this is a stunning original Japanese B2 film poster for Robert Aldrich’s 1967 World War 2 action extravaganza “The Dirty Dozen”. With artwork exclusive to this release Lee Marvin takes centre stage , machine gun blazing , charging into battle against a background of action scenes and co-stars, cleverly featured in a hand grenade illustration. Originally rolled (as issued) to Japanese cinemas this beautiful unrestored example presents to excellent. Hugely collectable; very rare first release poster for a war movie that is oft judged as one of the best from the action adventure genre.
Trivia: Woody Allen joined Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson and Telly Savalas to play poker when filming was finished for the day. He was simultaneously filming Casino Royale (1967) in London and earning “a fat salary”. Filming was so far behind schedule, that he would gladly hook up with the cast for a few hands of poker.

An exceptionally rare Indian Three-Sheet from 1969 (the first year of release in India) for Brian G. Hutton’s action packed World War II thriller “Where Eagles Dare” features artwork by C. Mohan based on the original design by Frank McCarthy. The cable car scene is one of the best remembered and most famous scenes from the film and all of the elements are the same, from Eastwood on the cable car to the Castle of The Eagle engulfed in flames in the background. Fans of Bollywood will know at least one of C. Mohan’s pieces as he designed the title for “Sholay”, which is widely considered the greatest Bollywood movie of all time. One of the most collected British action adventure war films ever produced, with the originally folded (as issued) example offered here being presented conservation linen-backed – it displays to excellent with colours that pop, thanks to the stone litho printing process. Of all the action / adventure films I deal with there is no doubt that “Where Eagles Dare” appears to have an incredible fan base and this superb poster represents a fine piece of original movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The driving force behind this movie was Richard Burton‘s stepson, who wanted to see his stepfather in a good old-fashioned adventure movie. Burton approached producer Elliott Kastner for ideas, who asked Alistair MacLean. At that time, most of MacLean’s novels had either been made into movies, or were in the process of being filmed. Kastner persuaded MacLean to write a new story. Six weeks later, MacLean delivered the script.

A rare, first release, 1968 Style B US one-sheet movie poster for Brian G. Hutton’s action packed World War II thriller “Where Eagles Dare”. This photographic imagery shows the famous drinking scene, taking place in Schloss Adler’s bierkeller as Richard Burton & Clint Eastwood (circled on the poster) mix with nazi officers guarding the castle. A really clever and memorable design that, because it was so different and out of the norm for an action adventure movie was printed in particularly low numbers when compared to the regular design; genuinely very, very hard to find. One of the most collected British action adventure war films ever produced. Originally folded (as issued) the example offered here has been professionally conservation linen backed to a very high standard by Backing to the Future (Their Certificate of Authenticity #2796 is included) and now appears rolled – it really does display to exceptional effect. Of all the action / adventure films I deal with there is no doubt that “Where Eagles Dare” appears to have an incredible fan base and this excellent poster represents a fine piece of original movie memorabilia.
