Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jaws’ is probably the most important film of ‘modern’ cinema, launching a movie trend that is now commonly referred to as the ‘Summer Blockbuster’. It also caused a surge in cases of aqua phobia (fear of water) and that’s largely attributable to Roger Kastel’s original marketing campaign who created one of the best and most memorable movie poster images ever ! So why reinvent it ? Well, it’s just so popular and one of the most licensed of all titles when it comes to the growing market for alternative movie posters. This artist signed and hand-numbered (#19/25) limited edition Artist Proof print by Graham Humphreys is a real eye-catcher and is considered one of the best and most desirable currently produced; incredible character driven imagery of Chief Brody, Quint, Hooper and of course the 25ft great white shark. A very limited private commission that was sold out prior to release. This originally rolled unfolded (as issued) example displays to exceptional effect. Trivia: Several decades after the film’s release, Lee Fierro, who played Mrs. Kintner, walked into a seafood restaurant and noticed that the menu had an “Alex Kintner Sandwich.” She commented that she had played his mother so many years ago; the owner of the restaurant ran out to meet her, and he was none other than Jeffrey Voorhees, who had played her son. They had not seen each other since the original movie shoot.

Trivia: Unused music composed for this film was later used by Ennio Morricone in Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight (2015). Ironically, Morricone’s Thing score was nominated for a Razzie for worst score, while his score for Hateful Eight won him an Oscar.

A superb and eye-catching alternative movie poster by Graham Humphreys’ for “Planet Terror”, Robert Rodriguez‘ homage to the ‘Grindhouse’ movies of the Seventies. A clever, stylish design as heroes, zombies and monsters adorn the background with a centre-piece which focuses on the iconic Rose McGowan‘s ‘machine gun legged’ character – Cherry Darling. Presented in excellent unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition with amazingly vibrant colour tones this hand-numbered Artist Proof edition from 2021 is hand-numbered #AP 2/5 and has been signed by Graham Humphrey’s that represents a an amazing piece of cinematic memorabilia.
Trivia: Michael Parks reprises his character as Sheriff Earl McGraw in Planet Terror (2007). He also played Sheriff Earl McGraw in Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), as well as Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003), and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004).

“WHO WILL SURVIVE AND WHAT WILL BE LEFT OF THEM ?”
Described by The News of the World as the ‘sickest carnival of slaughter ever seen’...“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” has become one of the most debated films of all time bringing (at the time) nauseating, forceful horror to the screen with a focussed realism that was new to mainstream cinema. Arguments raged as most councils and cinemas across the country banned it’s release (The full fascinating story of the censorship battle is well worth checking out on the official BBFC website.) with only a handful of cinemas eventually bowing to public demand and showing the Film. Trivia: Ed Gein – on whom “Leatherface” was loosely based–was not a true serial killer, as he actually only killed two people, both of them women. He was however, a graverobber. He stole body parts–only female–from many different graves. He kept some of the parts in his refrigerator, and skinned one corpse and wore the skin as a dress.

“Do you believe in ghosts?”
An outstanding modern example of a true British horror classic. An original 2012 Country of Origin British UK quad film poster for Hammer Films’ horror “The Woman in Black”. Unlike the computer generated, photoshopped posters that accompanied the initial release, renowned horror illustrator Graham Humphreys was commissioned by Momentum and Hammer Films, to create an exclusive ‘old school’ horror poster for certain limited screenings as part of the Hammer Classic Film archive collection. These examples, all personally hand-signed by Humphreys are incredibly scarce and highly sought after by poster and Hammer collectors. Presented in original, unrestored condition this rolled (as issued) poster displays and presents to excellent effect that due to the very limited print run represents a sought item of horror movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The Woman in Black (2012) was originally passed by the British Board of Film Classification with a 15 certificate. However the distributor, Momentum Pictures, suggested several cuts and the BBFC agreed to a lower 12A certificate. Despite this, it was this film which was most complained about to the BBFC in 2011.

A superb and eye-catching alternative movie poster by Graham Humphreys’ for the cult dark comedy horror “What We Do in the Shadows”. Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement.created the clever idea of a family of vampires living together under the same roof and the struggles they encounter in modern day life. Each vampire housemate bears some resemblance to a past screen vampire – Nosferatu, David (Lost Boys), Dracula (Gary Oldman), Edward (Twilight zone) and Louis fromInterview With the Vampire. And it’s these five who feature on this 2015 Hand-Numbered (#AP 39/40) Artist Proof print that has also been signed by the artist – Graham Humphrey. Presented in excellent unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition with amazingly vibrant colour tones that truly pop from the paper (the photo doesn’t do this justice)it almost appears to be painted. A super-cool piece of cinematic memorabilia and artwork.
Trivia: The hill where the vampires have a run-in with the werewolves is the same hill filmed in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), where Frodo and the hobbits are running from the Black Rider and hiding under the roots of a tree.
