The original UK quad film poster for “Dirty Harry” offered here is an extremely rare example from later 1971 with ‘red-style’ artwork that was only seen in the smaller independently owned cinemas in the UK provinces. This stunning original UK quad movie poster is based upon Bill Gold’s initial designs from the first release in early 1971 which had a bright white background; I personally think the RED is more appropriate and striking. Originally folded (as issued) this unrestored, totally original piece presents to excellent effect; the deep red background is truly vibrant with the other bold colours, deep & unfaded. Certainly the best example of this key poster I have ever seen, let alone have the pleasure to sell. Almost flawless in every way with only the very minimal handling and age wear…Clint Eastwood carved out a violent niche in the cinema with his portrayal of ‘Dirty Harry Callahan’ in this, the first in the popular series about a San Francisco detective who makes his own rules and this extremely scarce UK quad movie poster represents a fine piece of very collectable and desirable cinematic film memorabilia.
Trivia: (At around ten minutes) In the bank robbery scene (At around ten minutes into the movie), Harry enters a burger joint across the street from the bank. Around the corner from the burger joint, the viewer can see a movie theatre marquee that lists Play Misty for Me (1971). Clint Eastwood starred in and directed that movie, which was the first theatrical movie directed by Eastwood.

It’s not often that a TV show enters the Guinness Book of Records but on November 23 2013 that is exactly what happened as the 50th anniversary of “Dr Who: The Day of the Doctor” was broadcast simultaneously to 94 countries and cinemas around the world. The advertising campaign was one the most extensive ever commissioned by the BBC and the poster that accompanied the extremely limited (one night only) cinema release was truly exceptional. It really is stunning and perfectly suited to the landscape format of the UK quad film poster. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays almost perfectly. One of the best looking and most collectable film posters of recent years from a TV series that has become a global favourite. A beautiful, colourful masterpiece of a poster for Walt Disney’s beloved animated classic “Dumbo”. Originally premiered in 1941 this superb is from the 1982 re-release in Japan and focuses on the titular ‘Dumbo’. As you would expect from a Disney offering artwork is of the highest quality and colours truly bright and vibrant featuring ‘Dumbo’ in full flight with marvellous border art of the supporting characters; Mrs Jumbo, the Crows, Timothy Q Mouse and the WDP Bigtop Circus (WDP actually stands for Walt Disney Productions. Originallyrolled (as issued) and unrestored this beautiful example presents very well and displays to excellent effect with colourful imagery exclusively created for the Japanese re-release. A fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia for a much loved Disney classic.
Trivia: A very tightly budgeted, scripted and produced film, because Walt Disney needed it to bring in much-needed revenue after the expensive failures of Pinocchio (1940) and Fantasia (1940). Final negative cost of Dumbo was $813,000 (making it the least expensive of all Disney’s animated features), and it grossed over $2.5 million in its original release (more than the original grosses of “Pinocchio” and “Fantasia” combined).

Much like Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner” released two years earlier, David Lynch’s “Dune” (1984) received lack-lustre reviews and a poor box-office return on its initial release. Jump forward to today and “Dune” is now regarded as a genre defining masterpiece with a loyal and devoted fanbase. The poor box-office resulted in any associated cinema advertising material being junked and disposed of, making any paper highly desirable and collectable appealing not only to film fans but fans of the bestselling Frank Herbert novels. Tom Cruise is one of the greatest movie stars in cinema history and certainly one of the most energetic and action centric actors, so it’s no surprise that in 2014 he took on a project that he was perfectly suited. Set in a war torn future, Cruise’s character Cage is a man fighting in a war against aliens and must relive the same day every time he dies until he can find a way to stop them invading the Earth. “Edge of Tomorrow” is a very clever, stylish (the exo-battle suits look super cool) time travel movie with some incredible action set pieces. The imagery featured here by Graphic design agency Concept Arts (regular collaborators with Cruise) on this 2014 US one sheet features both Cruise and Emily Blunt (she plays the elite warrior – Rita, who mentors Cruise) in full battle mode. Originally rolled (as issued) this presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia for one of popular cinema’s most loved actors.
Trivia: Tom Cruise didn’t want the exo-suits to be too CGI, so it would be more real to the audience. He showed up two months early to research and develop the suit. He thought its weapons were fun and cool. Emily Blunt was unprepared for the weight of the suit which was between 85-90 pounds, and the armaments between 120-125 pounds.

“Enter the Dragon” is rightly regarded as one of the key and most collectable movie posters from the 1970’s for a film that created it’s own unique genre and provided the vehicle to launch Bruce Lee (albeit briefly) as a screen & cultural icon. Bob Peak created the artwork and his design was used globally as the imagery became as memorable as its late star. Whilst the core artwork remained the same slight variations appeared in different countries with the UK landscape format probably the most striking as the action imagery (including a nun-chuk wielding Bruce Lee) was offset against a bright yellow background. Offered here is an exceptional originally folded (as issued) UK quad film poster from first year of release 1973 that displays and presents to excellent effect – colours are very vibrant and truly pop from the paper. On almost constant release in the mid 70s as Lee’s reputation rose to new heights following his untimely death, no new posters issued with cinema owners having to make use of their 1973 examples – making this offering extremely desirable as it rarely comes to market in such high grade unrestored condition. It represents an extremely scarce and collectable example of original movie memorabilia & a fitting tribute to the martial arts legend BRUCE LEE.

“Enter the Dragon” is rightly regarded as one of the key and most influential movie’s from the 1970’s, creating it’s own unique genre and provided the vehicle to launch Bruce Lee (albeit briefly) as a screen & cultural icon. Unsurprisingly, it is one of the most popular licences when looking to have artwork commissioned. This 2024 offering from Thai artist Kwow is one of the best of these. Kwow’s impressive artwork beautifully portrays the most memorable scenes from the film and is beautifully complemented by some amazing realistic likenesses of the main cast members, particularly Lee who takes prominence. This very limited release of only 100, has been hand-numbered #57 in pencil and is offered in beautiful rolled, unfolded (as issued) condition that displays and presents to excellent effect – colours are very vibrant and truly pop from the paper. A truly outstanding art print that represents a key item of highly sought after modern cinematic memorabilia and a fitting tribute to the martial arts legend BRUCE LEE.

Sam Raimi’s “The Evil Dead” is one of the best horror comedy movies ever made, full of dark humour and gory thrills. As most people know, this is one of the greatest performing films, dollar for dollar in cinematic history. One of the most popular film titles for alternative movie posters artists, this 2016 hand-numbered (#134/220) print by Francesco Francavilla is a standout piece and a proper horror poster as a chainsaw wielding Ash (Bruce Campbell) and the demonically possessed Cheryl (Ellen Sandweiss) dominate the blood red coloured imagery. An original country of origin UK quad cinema poster in near mint condition designed by Crew Creative Advertising for Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 film “Eyes Wide Shut”. A brilliant erotic mystery from which stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman as the married couple at the centre of the story. Though the famous couple were married at the time they were to divorce two years later in what was almost a case of life imitating art. Sadly, this was to be Kubrick’s final film as a director. Rich colour and simple design featuring sexy close up of the two stars Cruise and Kidman. Originally rolled this fine example displays superbly. Sought after and becoming very hard to find it represents an impressive item of movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman signed open-ended contracts. They agreed to work on this project until Stanley Kubrick released them from it, however long that turned out to be.
