Beautiful Drew Struzan artwork for one of the most recognisable movie poster series’ of the 80’s. Offered here is an original 1989 Japanese B2 film poster for one of the most collectable classic modern movie poster series available. Updating his artwork from the original and Part II (where he added the Doc) this style sees the Doc’s love interest Clara Clayton (Mary Steenburgen) added to the 1885 versions of Marty (Michael J. Fox) and the Doc (Christopher Lloyd) This unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect being originally rolled (as issued) with minimal handling wear and beautiful deep colours that ‘pop’ from the paper. Trivia: Marty uses a “Frisbie’s” pie plate to knock a gun out of Mad Dog’s hand. In 1871, the Frisbie Pie Company started in Connecticut. Their pie pans were thrown on the campus of Yale, and this eventually lead to the invention of Frisbees.

An exceptional looking movie poster for Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 historical drama “Barry Lyndon”. With superbly detailed imagery by Richard Amsel this is the much rarer ‘full’ artwork version and perfectly suited the the British UK quad landscape format; this really is a beautifully designed poster and becoming increasingly hard to find. Originally folded (as issued) this displays superbly retaining a crispness with deep unfaded colour tones. This excellent unrestored example presents near perfectly and represents an exceptional piece of collectable original film memorabilia. Perhaps over-looked by Kubrick’s other masterpieces he made many great films – and this one is most definitely one of them!
Trivia: Stanley Kubrick‘s first movie to feature an auteur opening credit of “A film by Stanley Kubrick”. It also contains his longest on-screen credit in the end titles: “Written for the screen, produced, and directed by Stanley Kubrick.”

The draw of “Basic Instinct” is its over-the-top style and sex, the way the story forges ahead with gleeful abandon and is widely regarded as an expertly crafted guilty pleasure. One of the most talked about movie of the early 90’s. From Sharon Stone’s leg crossing interrogation scene to Michael Douglas’ green cashmere jumper in a disco. This rolled (as issued), UK Quad from 1992 features close-ups of Michael Douglas & Sharon Stone designed by Dan Chapman and Kevin Bachman. It presents to excellent condition and represents a fantastic piece of high quality cinematic movie memorabilia for a classic crime noir thriller.
Trivia: After the film’s release, someone called Sharon Stone‘s mother and asked her how she would feel about her daughter’s nudity in the film. Her mother said, “Frankly, I was much more concerned about her playing a sociopathic serial killer, but thank you for calling”.

Designed by Hive Associates this is a special 3D lenticular poster for Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster superhero movie “Batman: The Dark Knight” and (for the one & only time) Heath Ledger’s show stopping turn as ‘The Joker’. This promotional poster was issued as a gift to VIP attendees and at early press screenings for Nolan’s incredibly successful sequel to Batman Begins. Depending on the viewing angle, you can see either Batman (Christian Bale), Joker (Heath Ledger) or Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart). Presented in dark blue, grey and black tones this is a great looking piece with the gritty dark colours perfectly suiting the subject matter. Originally flat (as issued) this stunning film poster presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a truly desirable piece of original Batman movie memorabilia from a trilogy that has become one of the most collectable and popular modern movie franchises.

“Out of the darkness…comes the Knight.”
There were some outstanding posters produced for Christopher Nolan’s 2008 “Batman Begins” sequel “The Dark Knight” but this advance “Coming Soon” teaser takes the plaudits…a truly stunning looking film poster designed by Crew Creative Advertising. This International one sheet was printed in USA for use in United Kingdom and Europe and depicts the Batman silhouetted against a striking city scape and is the rarest of any paper for the movie. The photograph really doesn’t do this poster justice. Originally rolled (as issued) this beautiful unrestored example displays and presents to magnificent effect and represents a hugely collectable item of modern original movie memorabilia from a truly outstanding film franchise and an icon of modern pop culture…“The night is darkest before the dawn.”
Trivia: In Sir Michael Caine‘s opinion, Heath Ledger beat the odds and topped Jack Nicholson‘s Joker from Batman (1989): “Jack was like a clown figure, benign but wicked, maybe a killer old uncle. He could be funny and make you laugh. Heath’s gone in a completely different direction to Jack, he’s like a really scary psychopath. He’s a lovely guy and his Joker is going to be a hell of a revelation in this picture.” Caine bases this belief on a scene where The Joker pays a visit to Bruce Wayne’s penthouse. He’d never met Ledger before, so when Ledger arrived and performed, he gave Caine such a fright, he forgot his lines.

Posters for Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise have always been of the highest quality and Ignition Print have certainly not disappointed with this iconic design for the trilogy’s 2012 finale “The Dark Knight Rises”. In the comics Bane famously broke Batman’s back – Does the shattered Bat cowl tease that this time he goes one further ? Dark and stylish. A foretaste of things to come…A great way to use a teaser poster. Enigmatic and stylish, and in this Japanese B1 format truly impressive. The Japanese lettering perfectly suits the imagery, totally enhancing the overall effect. The Japanese paper is slightly thicker than used on US or British examples and this produces a sharper, detailed print of real quality. An all-action sci-fi vista of a film poster for Glen A. Larson’s ‘epic’ “Battlestar Galactica”. Receiving a full cinematic release it was an edited together version of three TV shows released in the USA largely to cash in, on the still very popular ‘Star Wars’ phenomena. With some colourful, dynamic sci-fi artwork by Robert Tanenbaum (a homage to Tom Chantrell’s famous art for ‘Star Wars’ perhaps ?) this original 1978 country of origin US one-sheet movie poster is presented in original unrestored, folded (as issued) condition. It displays to impactful effect with light age and handling wear; colours are deep and unfaded with some truly rip roaring laser blasting, robot, space ship adventure imagery. A cool item that represents a fantastic piece of very collectable and desirable original movie memorabilia for a much loved and hugely popular film and TV franchise.
Trivia: John Dykstra, who worked on Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) used much of the technology developed for ILM in this movie, including his motion control camera, the so-called “Dykstraflex”.

Original 1967, first year of release Japanese STB/Tatekan movie poster for the Stanley Donen seven deadly sins comedy “Bedazzled”. After the success of the first two series of British TV show “Not Only … But Also” (1965-1970), comic duo Dudley Moore and Peter Cook star in their second big screen outing. “Bedazzled” sees Stanley Moon (Moore) sell his soul to The Devil (Cooke) in exchange for seven wishes. Raquel Welch features as Lust and, with her climb to fame from “One Million Years B.C”. Japanese posters put her front and centre for the obvious sex appeal. The Japanese tatekan poster (as offered here) is printed in two pieces which were designed to be pasted together on the bill boards. Far rarer, and more striking than the more common Japanese B2 posters, they are highly sought after. Eye catching, country unique design, exclusive to the Japanese release this excellent rolled, flat/unfolded example displays superbly and represents one of the most colourful and best looking posters from the period and an amazing example of cinema memorabilia.
Trivia: Although Raquel Welch is featured in most of the promotional material for this movie, she is on-screen for only roughly seven minutes.
