Quite honestly some of the finest poster artwork I have seen on a ‘modern’ poster. In these days of digital design it’s a pleasure to see and handle such a beautiful item. Designed by Jonny Halifax for Julien Temple’s film ‘The Ecstasy Of Wilko Johnson’, and winner of the SXSW 2015 Excellence in Poster Design Special Jury Recognition Award this is a special and very rare film poster. After the film’s cinematic premiere held in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust in London at the Picturehouse on Shaftesbury Avenue on 17th July 2015 it was only screened in a very limited number of select ‘art-house’ cinemas making any paper from the release exceptionally scarce and sought after with the artist himself releasing limited edition prints of the artwork which immediately sold out and have become collectors items in their own right. The poster offered here is a genuine UK quad film poster from the initial 2015 release, not a copy. Printed on heavy stock paper with a four colour silk screen print finish this originally rolled example displays superbly…An incredibly rare and collectable piece of music/film memorabilia.

A great looking ‘cast’ character poster for Robert Rodriguez’ 1998, sci-fi horror hit “The Faculty”. Described as a cross between the Breakfast Club and Invasion of the Body Snatchers it’s up there as one of the best popcorn movies of the genre – superb fun with top notch special effects and a tight script. But then you wouldn’t expect anything else from the director who bought you Planet Terror and From Dusk Till Dawn and the writer of the first two (and best) Scream movies. A nice and very collectable item of original movie memorabilia. Offered rolled (as issued) this original first year of release UK Quad displays and presents to excellent effect with a great creepy cast image perfectly suited the vibe of the movie.
Trivia: At the start of the movie, Coach Willis (Robert Patrick) is seen standing at the end of a long hall, then begins running down the hall in pursuit of Principal Drake (Bebe Neuwirth). The way he runs, and the way the scene is shot (cutting back and forth between Willis running and Drake trying to open the door) mirrors a similar scene in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), when the T-1000–also played by Patrick–is chasing the Connors and the T-800 down a long hall while they wait for an elevator to open.

“Bolt Your Doors. Lock Your Windows. There’s something in The Fog !”
After the huge success of Halloween John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally creepy horror The Fog. Taking creepy imagery from the movie the US one-sheet features silhouetted zombie pirates in a ‘fog’ filed room. The original movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1980 and displays to excellent effect. Originally folded (as issued) it is presented in unrestored condition with only minimal handling wear. Great horror imagery on a genuinely rare cult classic from the Carpenter archives that represents extremely desirable and collectable movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Although this was essentially a low budget independent movie, John Carpenter chose to shoot the movie in anamorphic widescreen Panavision. This decision gave the movie a grander feel for the viewer so this didn’t seem like a low budget horror movie.

“Bolt Your Doors. Lock Your Windows. There’s something in The Fog !”
After the huge success of “Halloween” John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally memorable horror “The Fog” – a guilty pleasure film of mine as I love how well Carpenter develops the tension and tells the story with great cinematography, sound, and use of locations. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so it was no surprise that this title was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “They Live”, “Escape From New York” and “Prince of Darkness”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 224. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.

Scarce original UK quad film poster from one of the best thrillers of the 70’s…William Friedkin’s multi Oscar winning thriller “The French Connection”. Impressive, country unique (UK) artwork featuring hard hitting all-action photo style imagery highlighting the anti-hero Popeye Doyle (Gene Hackman) offset against the grainy New York skyline. The original 1971 UK quad movie poster offered here comes folded (as issued) and presents to great effect in very good unrestored condition with nice bright white background. A fine example of rare, collectable original movie memorabilia that really captures the feel and look of the genre & the period.

A magnificent example for one of the best feelgood films ever made…Richard Donner’s “The Goonies”. Add to the mix Steven Spielberg & Chris Columbus it was a guaranteed box office hit, but just to make sure they commissioned movie poster maestro Noriyoshi Ohrai to create an alternative style poster for the Japanese marketing campaign that complemented and could be displayed next to Drew Struzan’s familiar ‘hanging’ design . Ohrai in turn produced some of the best work of his career as featured here on this original 1985 Style A Japanese B2 film poster. The portrait format is perfectly suited to his design which is fondly referred to as the ‘One-Eyed Willie’ style. Originally rolled (as issued) this unrestored example looks incredible with amazing vibrant colour tones. A fantastic and eye-catching item for a hugely loved and popular movie that represents scarce original movie memorabilia for a film poster that has become one of the most desirable titles of the 1980’s…“Goonies never say die !”

The sails required more than 7,000 square feet of material, the largest measured 30ft by 60ft. Some of the ship’s rigging was recycled for the Pirates of the Caribbean ship at Disneyland, which was being renovated at the time.

This is certainly one of the most compelling and despite its three hour plus runtime, most watchable films Martin Scorsese has directed. It is an epic motion picture that will stand the test of time for years and years to come. The ‘cast’ style UK quad film poster by Concept Arts that accompanied this 2019 release of “The Irishman” was equally as striking as it features three of the greatest actors of any generation – Robert De Niro, Al Pacino & Joe Pesci. The originally rolled (as issued), unrestored example offered here has minimal handling and displays & presents to excellent effect with dark unfaded background and outstanding character imagery. Very scarce with a incredibly low print run, as it was essentially a Netflix streaming service movie which received a limited cinematic release so it would qualify as a contender for Academy Award recognition and was only shown in a handful of independent cinemas with no general release. A must have title for the serious collector or fan.
Trivia: “I heard you paint houses” were the first words Jimmy Hoffa ever spoke to Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran. On The Tonight Show, Robert De Niro remarked that the term, along with “I also do my own carpentry work,” refer to both the hit and the clean-up.

Receiving a very limited release in UK cinemas (it was nearly never released due to financial problems & only saved as a cinematic production by George Harrison, with his Handmade Films stepping in at the 11th hour) meant that any paper is scarce, making this original 1980 UK quad film poster a rare find especially in such high grade condition. Featuring stark black & white country unique design & artwork, this excellent unrestored example presents near perfectly. Rolled (as issued) it represents an exceptional piece of collectable original film memorabilia from a true British gangster classic…“The Mafia? I’ve shit ’em”
A critical and commercial success and perhaps the best British movie (gangster or otherwise) ever made…John MacKenzie’s “The Long Good Friday”. Receiving a very limited release in UK cinemas (it was nearly never released due to financial problems & only saved as a cinematic production by George Harrison, with his Handmade Films stepping in at the 11th hour) meant that any paper is scarce, with the British one sheet featuring Ron Fenton’s artwork, the scarcest of them all (this is the only time I have offered one for sale) making this original 1980 British, country of origin one sheet, a rare find especially in such high grade condition. Fenton’s exciting action montage for this classic British gangster film features an exploding rolls Royce, an exploding casino, mobsters being hung upside down on meathooks in an abattoir and some incredible character portraits – Bob Hoskins in arguably his best film role, alongside Helen Mirren, Eddie Constantine and P.H. Moriarty (as the psychotic hardman Razors). This excellent example is presented rolled (as issued) and represents an exceptional piece of collectable original film memorabilia from a true British gangster classic…“The Mafia? I’ve shit ’em”
Trivia: The actors being held upside-down on meathooks in the abattoir had to be supported between takes, to prevent them passing out.

The imagery featured is one the most memorable scenes from the film, as Harold (Bob Hoskins) in an effort to find out who is threatening him interrogates fellow mobsters by hanging them upside down on meathooks in a freezing abattoir. Presented flat (as issued) it represents an exceptional piece of collectable original film memorabilia from a true British gangster classic…“The Mafia? I’ve shit ’em”
