Although a relatively recent release any paper for Damien Chazelle’s 2016 multi award winning musical romance phenomenon “La La Land” is extremely scarce. Taking audiences by storm at the box-office it was never expected (by the Studio) to be the huge worldwide success it turned out to be with a merchandising and marketing budget not reflected in the success. Hence the rarity of the film posters. Chazelle’s Oscar winning film was complemented with an award winning movie poster created by the creative arts agency LA. Stylish and simple the movie poster offered here is the British UK quad film poster affectionately known as the “dancing style” with both stars, Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) & Mia (Emma Stone) prominently featured and complemented by the four and five star glowing reviews. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to very good effect with a design particularly suited to the landscape format of the poster. Absolutely stunning; the deep blue/purple colour range is superb and unfaded with the bright yellow of Stone’s dress shining out like a beacon. Guaranteed original this represents an extremely scarce and desirable item of modern original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly remarkable film.
Trivia: The plot has strong ties to Emma Stone‘s real-life history. The movie is based in LA, and Mia is discovered as a college dropout actress pursuing her dreams. Stone is a school dropout herself, moving to LA at the age of 15 in pursuit of an acting career.

“A Disgrace to Criminals Everywhere.”
Original 1998 UK Quad film poster for Guy Ritchie’s breakthrough movie…“Lock Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels”…A very limited initial UK release means these Yellow1 designed posters are in extremely scarce…Any original memorabilia from the movie has become extremely sought after as this breakthrough film has gone on to become of the most influential British films of recent years, launching the careers of its stars and director. Presented here in excellent original rolled (as issued) condition this high grade example is a beauty…“All right, son: roll them guns up, count the money, and put your seat belt on.”
Trivia: The film was having trouble finding an American distributor when Trudie Styler called an acquaintance of hers – Tom Cruise. He attended a screening and loved the film. Matthew Vaughn later recalled, “It was hysterical. You had all these mid-level executives sitting there, and Cruise walked in. He saw them all sit up and pay attention, all getting on their phones, and suddenly all these senior executives joined the screening … At the end, Tom got up in front of everyone and said ‘This is the best movie I’ve seen in years, you guys would be fools not to buy it.’…”

A fine and clever film poster for Gareth Edwards’ ‘intelligent’ creature feature “MONSTERS”. Created by design agency ‘Hoo-Ha’ this original 2010 UK quad film poster is a good looking example and incredibly rare in this final release design ‘Awards/Review’ style. Extremely scarce, the advertising campaign was very low key for Gareth Edwards’ debut feature and the UK film posters that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release are in very short supply and truly hard to find. This originally rolled (as issued) film poster displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition. Distinctive & eye-catching with the two main actors; Scoot McNair & Whitney Able stranded in the Mexican jungles of the quarantined ‘Infected Zone’. Some of best imagery seen on a modern poster it represents an extremely desirable piece of original movie memorabilia.

“Oh! What a Lovely War” was Richard Attenborough’ Directorial debut in 1969 and also resulted in a highly patriotic film poster with a Union Jack design and as Sim Branagan states in his 2006 book “British Film Posters” – “A clever and appealing spoof of the classic Kitchener call-up poster”. With initial design by John Billingham and finished artwork by Brian Sanders each section of the Union Jack flag feature a scene from the movie and include General Haig (John Mills) playing leap frog and Brighton Pier with the colours red, white and blue are enhanced with Khaki, lilac and different shades of blue, red & green. An exceptional and eye-catching looking film poster with superbly detailed imagery, this really is a beautifully designed stand out poster and is becoming increasingly hard to find. Originally folded (as issued) this 1969 UK quad film poster displays superbly with vibrant unfaded colour tones. This excellent unrestored example presents to very good effect and represents an fine piece of collectable original British film memorabilia.

There is no doubting the cinematic and cultural influence and impact of Quentin Tarantino with his ninth feature “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” his most anticipated as he presents his own unique take on the end of ‘Hollywood’s Golden Age’ as the notorious Manson Family murders spelt the end of the hippie era of ‘Peace & Love’. With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. The 2019 British UK quad offered here is no exception. Designed by creative agency BLT Communications with finished artwork by Steven Chorney this is truly a stunning and beautifully detailed poster with a nod to the vintage hand drawn artwork from movies Tarantino is so fond of. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker…“Hey! You’re Rick fucking Dalton, don’t you forget it.”
Trivia: Its title is an homage to Sergio Leone, who has directed Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) as well as Once Upon a Time in America (1984). Tarantino has cited the director as a favorite of his and an influence throughout his career.

One of the great silent films, Georg Wilhelm Pabst’s “Pandora’s Box” is renowned for its sensational storyline, sparkling Weimar-period setting and the legendary, lead performance from its iconic star Louise Brooks who is featured prominently on the poster imagery. As a general rule BFI re-release posters are incredibly scarce due to limited print runs and distribution, being shown in literally a handful of independent and ‘art-house’ cinemas with the updated imagery often superior to many of the original release designs. The rolled (as issued) UK quad offered here is from the 2020 digital restoration BFI release and displays to excellent effect with beautiful imagery and design; lovely bright bold colours. A fantastic looking item and a fine piece of cinema memorabilia for a true classic of the silent era.
Trivia: Despite being replaced by Louise Brooks at the last minute for the role of Lulu in Pandora’s Box (1929), Marlene Dietrich managed to snag another coveted role. Her removal from “Pandora’s Box” freed her up to play one of her most iconic roles, Lola Lola in Josef von Sternberg‘s The Blue Angel (1930).

An incredibly rare find, a 2023 Park Circus UK quad film poster for Michael Powell’s disturbing 1960 voyeuristic thriller “Peeping Tom”. One of the most distinctive and best redesigned of any posters from the genre and rightly regarded as a British classic and highly sought after by collectors. “Peeping Tom” was not a great commercial success at the time of its release, and was largely over shadowed by Hitchcock’s “Psycho” and often treated as a film ‘way ahead of its time’ with filmgoers reluctant to see it due to Powell’s controversial content. The originally rolled (as issued), unrestored example offered here has minimal handling and displays & presents to excellent effect with beautiful colour tones and dramatic imagery. Incredibly scarce, as it received a very limited release and was only shown in a handful of ‘Park Circus’ affiliated cinemas. A must have title for the serious collector or fan it represents a fantastic item of good looking collectible movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The critical mauling and public outcry about the film resulted in it being pulled from British cinemas after just five days.

One of the best films of the 1980’s and certainly one of Schwarzenegger’s finest roles, “Predator“ is a film I’ve seen more times than I care to remember. Directed by John McTiernan, who would go on to helm “Die Hard” the following year (arguably the greatest action movie ever made), the film is an excellent mix of gung-ho action and sci-fi horror with a truly iconic monster (designed by Stan Winston). The rare and original Japanese B2 film poster offered here is the ‘Cast’ style from first year of release 1987 with ‘Dutch’ (Schwarzenegger) prominent and a photo montage of the other leading actors in a design that is unique to Japan. Considered a classic by Arnie’s legion of fans & collectors of the action / sci fi genre it is incredibly scarce in this format. Originally rolled (as issued) this beautiful unrestored example displays and presents to excellent effect…Sought after and extremely hard to find in this high grade condition it represents a fine piece of very collectable Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi action movie memorabilia.

There is no doubting the influence and impact of Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 masterpiece “Pulp Fiction” and like so many of the Tarantino films the paper from each has become hugely collectable. The 30th Anniversary UK quad release offered here is no exception. This popular and most recognisable design by Indika Entertainment Advertising has been adapted as a black and style with Uma Thurman’s bright red lips the perfect complement to the monotone imagery – truly striking and enhanced by the print quality and colour saturation. Very cool looking, and incredibly scarce, with only a limited release in a small number of cinemas. This is a fantastic original poster from Quentin Tarantino’s most celebrated film to date. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a hugely collectible piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie…“I do believe Marsellus Wallace, my husband, your boss, told you to take ME out and do WHATEVER I WANTED. Silents Synced have stylishly and cleverly paired, a classic silent horror movie with epic rock music to bring audiences a unique big screen experience with “Radiohead X Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror”. Directed and remixed by Josh Frank this reimagining of the iconic Nosferatu (1922) features Radiohead’s Kid A (2000) and Amnesiac (2001) albums. An unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Nosferatu (1922) is the quintessential silent vampire film, crafted by legendary German director F. W. Murnau. Rather than depicting Dracula as a shape-shifting monster or debonair gentleman, Murnau’s Graf Orlok (as portrayed by Max Shreck) is a nightmarish, spidery creature of bulbous head and taloned claws – perhaps the most genuinely disturbing incarnation of vampirism yet envisioned. This imaginative new take on an iconic horror classic is accompanied by an equally striking poster. Designed by EMEK it resembles a vintage black and white engraving with colour (it had to be RED) used sparingly for maximum effect. With a very limited release & showing in only a handful of independent art-house cinemas and drive-ins the advertising posters for the screenings are truly scarce.
