“Strength Now. Courage Always. Family, Above All. Batman and Robin!”
Long after Tim Burton re-invented him, Chris Chris Nolan re-imagined him and Ben Affleck played him as an older more mature Caped Crusader there was Joel Schumacher’s “Batman & Robin” 90s neon in this this hugely enjoyable not so Dark Knight adventure. An all-star bat-movie that sees George Clooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman, Chris O’Donnell and Alicia Silverstone don their superhero and super villain costumes. The poster that accompanied the screening is a marvellous, colourful feast for the eyes with all five actors featured. Bright vibrant colours and beautiful graphics, this originally rolled (as issued) example is a great looking poster. I am a huge Batman fan (all incarnations) and this is one just shouts fun. A chance to purchase one of the campiest Batman posters (since Adam West and Burt Ward) ever produced and a magnificent item of collectable cinematic memorabilia.

…more detailOne of the best films of the 1980’s and certainly one of Schwarzenegger’s finest roles, “Predator“ is a film I’ve seen more times than I care to remember. Directed by John McTiernan, who would go on to helm “Die Hard” the following year (arguably the greatest action movie ever made), the film is an excellent mix of gung-ho action and sci-fi horror with a truly iconic monster (designed by Stan Winston). The rare and original UK quad film poster offered here is from first year of release 1987 and was created by a team at the FEREF design agency, including Stephen Laws, Frank Hillary and acclaimed movie poster artist Brian Bysouth. This was one of the first film posters by the artist to have been created with photo composition and not painted, as had been the case with his previous posters. This ‘thermal imaging’ version has a great action image of Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and is considered a classic amongst collectors of the genre. Originally folded (as issued – the fold lines are soft from being stored flat for a number of years) this beautiful unrestored example displays and presents to excellent effect. Sought after and extremely hard to find in this high grade condition it represents a fine piece of collectable original movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The mandibles of the Predator were the idea of James Cameron.

Sci-fi movies can rarely be made in such way that can be looked at as works of art. This is one of the few exceptions. The prediction of judgment day with Hamilton watching a playground full of kids be burnt to the ground is an absolute brilliant portrayal of Armageddon. The theme that men will destroy themselves is also shown throughout the movie also and is even said by The Terminator…“It’s in your nature to destroy yourselves”. This brings the movie to a whole new level of sci-fi and one of the most sought after of titles by collectors of the genre and Schwarzenegger’s vast legion of fans. Offered here is a scarce large format Japanese B1 movie poster (equivalent to a standard one-sheet) for James Cameron’s sci-fi, time travel, shoot ’em up uber-actioner “Terminator 2: Judgement Day”. This example is often referred to as the ‘Smoke’ version featuring Schwarzenegger’s Terminator emerging from the smoke. In a design that’s unique to Japan the largely black and white imagery features Arnie’s eyes finished in a blazing red, leaving you in no doubt he is a Terminator. One of the most influential film of the past 25+ years with ground breaking CGI special effects and spectacular action set pieces. A very hard film poster to find in this fine unrestored rolled (as issued) condition that represents an impressive and stylish item of original cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Given Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s US $15 million salary, and his total of seven hundred words of dialogue, he was paid $21,429 per word. “Hasta la vista, baby” cost $85,716.
