“From a barbed-wire camp to a barbed-wire country, they made…THE GREAT ESCAPE !”
A very rare find, these original release theatrical posters just don’t turn up and are incredibly scarce. One of the biggest films of all times certainly deserves a big poster and this original 1963 US Three-Sheet movie poster for John Sturges’ wartime adventure “The Great Escape” certainly impresses. Frank McCarthy’s ‘countdown’ artwork looks superb featuring Bartlett “Big X” (Richard Attenbrough), Hendley-“The Scrounger” (James Garner) and of course heading the group Hilts-“Cooler King” (Steve McQueen). The large format makes for a truly stunning piece that presents very well and represents a superb example of very rare collectable film memorabilia from one of the greatest film’s ever made and featuring a character and final scene that has become synonymous with screen legend Steve McQueen and is regarded as a much loved classic and one of McQueen’s signature roles.
Trivia: During the climactic motorcycle chase, director John Sturges allowed Steve McQueen to ride (in disguise) as one of the pursuing German soldiers, so that in the final sequence, through the magic of editing, he’s actually chasing himself. McQueen played the German motorcyclist who hits the wire.

One of the biggest films of all times certainly deserves a striking poster and this original 1970 STB/Tatekan movie poster for John Sturges’ wartime adventure “The Great Escape” certainly impresses. Frank McCarthy’s ‘countdown’ artwork looks superb featuring Bartlett “Big X” (Richard Attenbrough), Hendley-“The Scrounger” (James Garner) and of course heading the group Hilts-“Cooler King” (Steve McQueen) and has been updated to include a photo montage of the cast and more importantly – McQueen attempting his motorbike jump escape. Although the most memorable scene from the film it doesn’t feature on any of the original 1963 paper and only on a handful or later release posters. A very rare find, an original 2022 alternative movie poster by Steve Chorney for John Sturges’ wartime adventure “The Great Escape”. One of the biggest films of all times certainly deserves a striking poster and Chorney’s limited edition offering certainly impresses. As a homage to posters of the 60s and 70s the great ensemble cast have their headshots in a row towards the bottom of the design, Hendley -“The Scrounger” (James Garner), Danny – “The Tunnel King” (Charles Bronson), Danny – “The Tunnel King” (Charles Bronson), Ashley-Pitt “Dispersal” (David McCallum), Blythe – The Forger” (Donald Pleasence), Bartlett “Big X” (Richard Attenbrough), Sedgwick “Manufacturer” (James Coburn) and of course dominating the imagery Hilts-“Cooler King” (Steve McQueen), not just an incredible headshot, but McQueen in action (from the finale of the movie) attempting his legendary motorbike jump escape. Although the most memorable scene from the film it doesn’t feature on any of the original 1963 paper and only on a handful or later release posters, making this artwork, super desirable. A nice touch is the inclusion of Hannes Messemer who played the Kamp Kommandant Von Luger. Released as a limited edition, hand-numbered (#88/90) fine art print, the giclee finish gives a freshly painted effect. What is Giclee ?
Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.
The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.
Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

Featuring stark black & white country unique design & artwork, this excellent unrestored example presents near perfectly. Rolled (as issued) it represents an exceptional piece of collectable original film memorabilia from a true British gangster classic…“The Mafia? I’ve shit ’em”

Receiving a very limited release in UK cinemas (it was nearly never released due to financial problems & only saved as a cinematic production by George Harrison, with his Handmade Films stepping in at the 11th hour) meant that any paper is scarce, with the British one sheet featuring Ron Fenton’s artwork, the scarcest of them all (this is the only time I have offered one for sale) making this original 1980 British, country of origin one sheet, a rare find especially in such high grade condition. Fenton’s exciting action montage for this classic British gangster film features an exploding rolls Royce, an exploding casino, mobsters being hung upside down on meathooks in an abattoir and some incredible character portraits – Bob Hoskins in arguably his best film role, alongside Helen Mirren, Eddie Constantine and P.H. Moriarty (as the psychotic hardman Razors). This excellent example is presented rolled (as issued) and represents an exceptional piece of collectable original film memorabilia from a true British gangster classic…“The Mafia? I’ve shit ’em”

On its release at the dawn of a new Millenia the Wachowski Brother’s ground breaking science fiction blockbuster “The Matrix” influenced everything from fashion, technology, how movies are made and introducing us to…Bullet-Time. This 2025 alternative movie poster by Pablo Olivera is an outstanding re-design that takes you to the heart of the matrix with its wealth of lore and symbology from the mega-hit, Pablo’s print is a thrilling look back at the film’s imagery and themes – “You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”. It is a fine art giclee print where the colours literally pop from the paper and one of best examples I have seen that uses this printing process – the colours, in this case neon pinks, purples and blues are incredibly rich giving a true hand painted effect. This Purple Variant edition has been Hand-Numbered #11/75 that represents a cool looking film poster from a “game-changing” movie. A true modern classic that displays superbly and is presented in excellent rolled condition.
Trivia: All scenes that take place within the Matrix have a green tint, as if watching them through a computer monitor. Scenes in the real world have a blue tint. Blue was also used at a minimum within the Matrix, since the directors thought blue was more of a real-world color (despite, ironically, blue being often the least-occurring color in nature). The fight scene between Morpheus and Neo, which is neither in the real world, nor in the Matrix, is tinted yellow.

“Heroes. Giants. Villains. Wizards. True Love. – Not just your basic, average, everyday, ordinary, run-of-the-mill, ho-hum fairy tale.”
A very COOL poster for a much loved action adventure fantasy romance. This original “The Princess Bride” movie poster has it all; amazing artwork by the movie poster legend John Alvin – perfect content and super colours. It is also very rare and one of the scarcest movie posters from the 80’s to find. The original US one sheet offered here is from first year of release, 1987 and displays to excellent effect. Originally rolled (as issued) it is presented in beautiful near perfect unrestored condition and could truly be considered investment grade quality – it’s the best example of this poster I have ever offered for sale. A genuinely rare fantasy classic cinema poster that represents extremely desirable and collectable movie memorabilia, especially if you are a fan of Heroes, Giants, Wizards & True Love (& let’s face it who isn’t).
Trivia: According to author William Goldman, when he was first trying to get the movie made in the 1970s, a then-unknown Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to play Fezzik, and he was strongly being considered because Goldman could never get his first choice, André the Giant, to read for the role. By the time the movie was made about twelve years later, Schwarzenegger was such a big star they could not afford him. Andre was cast after all, and the two big men had gone on to become friends.

“Judge, Jury, and Executioner is what The Punisher is.”
“The Punisher” may be one of the darkest comic book characters ever created. This film and especially Thomas Jane, get that which makes this film is one of the better in the genre, because it sticks to the source better than most. By 2004 the cinema had already seen an influx of ‘big-budget’ super hero movies; X-Men, Spiderman, Hulk as well as a re-imagined Batman so a ‘new’ Punisher was a safe bet as the character of Frank Castle still one of the most popular creations and a corner stone of the ‘Marvel Universe’. Designed by creative arts agency Intralink Film Graphic Design this original 2004 UK quad film poster is typical of the character, dark & moody. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect with impressive artwork highlighting both The Punisher (Thomas Jane) & his protagonist Howard Saint (John Travolta). It represents a fine piece of collectible ‘comic book’ cinema movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Seeing as he had only one involvement with the creation of the original Punisher character; (changing the character from ‘The Assassin’ to ‘The Punisher’) this is one of the few movies based on a Marvel Comic in which Stan Lee does not appear.

“The Terrible Northmen…Sailing on Dragon Ships Like Serpents on the Sea! Shouting a Battle-Cry to Their Awesome God of War, Odin!”.
A personal favourite and up there for me with “Jason and the Argonauts” as one of the greatest (and most colourful) action, adventure movies of all-time, with both boasting a superb poster and hat statement is illustrated here with a magnificent, original 1958 UK Quad movie poster for Richard Fleischer’s “The Vikings”. Originally folded (as issued) this beautiful poster displays to very good effect with vibrant, deep, unfaded colours and fantastic imagery of the two stars Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis. Rarely available with this being the first time we have ever offered one for sale, it represents a fine example of cinematic movie memorabilia and one of the best looking and most collectable film posters from the genre.
Trivia: Stuntmen had practiced for weeks for the oar walking scenes. Kirk Douglas told director Richard Fleischer that he could do it and did several times. At one point when he did fall in the icy water he calmly swam over to the camera boat and asked if they had gotten good shots. He then swam back to the Viking longboat. Fleischer noted they were watching and filming an activity that had not been done in 1000 years.

The late 1970’s is generally regarded as a ‘golden’ age for explosive action movies at the cinema and in 1978 three of the greatest, hard drinking actors of their generation were signed up to star in Andrew V.McLaglen’s British actioner “The Wild Geese”. Released at a time to be considered politically incorrect it never achieved the success or praise it richly deserved but has since gone on to be a firm favourite with fans of gritty action genre films. The artwork of the original 1978 movie poster has been adapted here to complement the 2025 4K Remastered release and once again offers some exceptional character driven artwork by Arnaldo Putzu of Roger Moore, Richard Harris, Hardy Kruger and Richard Burton against an eye catching golden backdrop that really accentuates Putzu’s imagery. Originally rolled (as issued) with minimal handling wear this beautiful film poster represents a truly outstanding example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia from one of the best British action films of the late 70’s. These posters are unique to the UK and extremely scarce and used only to promote the very limited cinema screenings.
Trivia: Sir Roger Moore requested to have fewer lines in his scenes with Sir Richard Burton and Richard Harris. This kind of request was almost unheard of from a major star. His reasoning was, “You don’t seriously expect me to act against these guys?”

John Carpenter’s tale of alien occupation is part horror, part Sci-Fi and part social satire, all viewed through dark sunglasses of Roddy Piper . This original They Live movie poster is probably the scarcest of all the John Carpenter paper from the series of four (Escape From New York, Prince of Darkness, The Fog & They Live) 2018 remastered re-releases and a very rare find in such excellent condition as offered here…The original 2018 Japanese B2 film poster for John Carpenter’s They Live was originally rolled (as issued) & presents in exceptional original unrestored condition with great detailed artwork (unique to the Japanese re-release, as the other posters produced for these releases all feature new re-imaging artwork by Matt Ferguson) & strong vibrant colours. Extremely rare this example represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s ever working in the sci-fi / horror / action genre.
