“The Breakfast Club” was a massive blockbuster hit when released in 1985 establishing the careers of its five stars – Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall and it has gone on to attain cult status, as one of the must watch movies of the 1980s. This original country of origin US one-sheet is from the first year of release, 1985 and was designed by the Seiniger Agency and features a fantastic cast shot. Rolled (as issued) this example presents to excellent effect that represents a fine example of rare, collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The David Bowie quote at the beginning of the movie is pulled from his song “Changes”. It can be found on his 1971 album, “Hunky Dory”. Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds) suggested the quote to John Hughes, who liked it, and thus included it in the opening.

An absolutely stunning piece of alternative movie poster art by Matt Taylor. This is a sold out screen print for the Marvel Studios release “Captain Marvel” released by Mondo in 2019. The character depicted is the cosmically powered super-heroine Carol Danvers sporting her red, white, and blue Earth uniform. This is a hand numbered regular edition of 1725 with this being #1008. Originally flat & unfolded (as issued) this superb example displays to impressive effect (honestly the photo does not do this justice…needs to be seen), perfectly suited to this portrait format. Captain Marvel AKA Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) looks truly cosmic and takes centre stage in a full on ‘power’ pose. Very cool and very collectable this exceptional looking piece represents a fantastic item of ‘modern’ super-hero movie memorabilia.

“While the rest of us were just thinking about it…Ferris borrowed a Ferrari and did it…all in a day”
“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” was a so so hit for John Hughes when released in 1986 launching many of it’s cast on the road to Hollywood glory; Matthew Broderick, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey etc. But it’s the car that Ferris and his pals steal that has kept the movie firmly in the spotlight, especially in more recent years as movie poster art & automobilia have become very, very collectable – it’s one of the most famous and coveted cars that a certain Italian named Enzo ever produced – a Ferrari (RED of course) 250 GT California. Although it was featured on the original cinema marketing campaign it was heavily stylised by the artist Adrian Perkis. So, it’s no surprise that when it was released on video in 1986, the Ferrari figured prominently with a beautiful photograph of the car – don’t worry Ferrari fans, Ferris has been photo-shopped lounging on the car – no Ferrari was harmed in the taking of the photograph. Rolled (as issued) this excellent original 1986 British video poster presents very well and represents a scarce item of collectable cinematic and motoring memorabilia…“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it”
Trivia: John Hughes personally selected the songs for the film. He wanted them to be somewhat obscure to the typical moviegoing audience, feeling that he wanted everything about the film to feel new. For example, the song heard when the Ferrari is revealed for the first time (and during the final scene) is “Oh Yeah” by Swiss band Yello. The song was not a hit after its first release, but its inclusion in this movie rapidly popularized it, prompting a re-release. It has since been used in dozens of other movies and series, often in scenes featuring a desirable object or person.

“Fire and Ice” is a cult animated feature, based on characters co-created by Ralph Bakshi and legendary fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, and was made using the process of rotoscoping, in which scenes were shot in live-action and then traced onto animation cels. And it is from the first year of release, 1983 that this Frazetta illustrated original British UK quad is from. Impressive and exciting poster artwork promising everything that the award winning artist could offer – Frazetta is regarded as one of the greatest fantasy and science fiction artists of all time, noted for comic books, paperback book covers, paintings, posters, LP record album covers and other media, with some examples of his painted original artwork selling for seven figures, making this film poster very good value for money. Presented in lovely unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition this is a marvellous item of 1980’s nostalgia and a great piece of original cinematic movie memorabilia
Trivia: According to director Ralph Bakshi, the animators found working for producer Frank Frazetta to be so daunting that some of them even fainted when Frazetta visited the set.

Known as the ‘door’ style this original UK quad is the rarer of the two issued and features Culkin’s character Kevin MacCallister and his adversaries the ‘Wet Bandits’ – Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Rolled (as issued) this example presents very well and represents a rare piece of collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: In May 2011, the house in Winnetka, Illinois used in this movie was listed for sale at $2.4 million. It sold in March 2012 for $1.585 million. The house is promoted as a tourist attraction, and cited as an example of “How to Get Your Home in the Movies”.

“A family comedy without the family.”
“Home Alone” was a massive blockbuster hit when released in 1990 launching the career of child star – Macaulay Culkin and it has gone on to attain cult status, as one of the greatest and best-loved Christmas movies and is one of the highest grossing box office comedy’s of all time. This original UK quad is from the 1991 re-release and features Culkin’s character Kevin MacCallister in ‘Holy Cow’ posse and his adversaries the ‘Wet Bandits’ – Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Rolled (as issued) this example presents to excellent effect with deep blue unfaded background and crisp colours on the character images. It represents a fine example of rare, collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Joe Pesci was used to adding profanity to most of his scripts, and kept forgetting that he was filming a family movie during his character’s on-screen outbursts, so director Chris Columbus advised him to say “fridge” instead of the “f” word. A lot of Pesci’s unintelligible pained mutterings were his way to avoid cursing.

Love it or hate it “Rise of the Footsoldier” is a modern classic with a huge cult following. Filmed in 2007 and based on a true story of Essex gangsters – Carlton Leach, Tony Tucker and pat Tate it faithfully recreates the 1990s in all of its glory, portraying a violent crime genre that is still going strong and showing no sign of flagging with four sequels to date. There is so little paper available for this title, making this original UK quad such a great find – it is ultra rare and the first time we have ever offered one for sale. The eye-catching black and white imagery created by Mister S is certainly striking as the cast are featured on the barrel of a shotgun Originally rolled (as issued), the poster displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with minimal handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British cinematic memorabilia.
Trivia: During the films opening scene in the morgue, the answering machine message left on Tony Tucker’s phone was the real life recording that Carlton left him the day after the shooting. This was confirmed by Carlton in an interview with James English.

“To Cut a Long Story Short”…It’s not many films that get a a London premiere at the Royal Albert Hall, but then it’s not every film that tells the story of meteoric rise, fall and ultimate reunion of new romantic pop sensations, Spandau Ballet. The advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce. It really is a great snap shot of the 80’s image of the band from their first visit to New York. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays as new. Never commercially available the posters for this release are unbelievably scarce…fantastic item of Spandau Ballet / New Romantics / film / cultural memorabilia presented in investment grade condition !

“UP THERE WITH THE BEST OF THE BEST”
Absolute cheese on a stick, but “Top Gun” proves that that’s not always a bad thing. This movie’s got everything – an arrogant prodigy who’d be out on his arse if he wasn’t so good, a sensible, uglier best friend, a love interest, an arch nemesis and his dumb sidekick, a few cool high fives and catchphrases, an emotional death scene, a euphoric victory scene and of course, some unforgettable action scenes, punctuated by a cracking soundtrack. What more could any red-blooded child of the eighties ask for ? Well, how about the film poster ? From 1986 comes this original UK Quad movie poster for one of the 1980s most loved blockbusters. Tom Cruise never looked slicker than featured here as Lt.Pete Mitchell or as he’s better known “Maverick”. Presented in excellent ROLLED (as issued) unrestored condition it displays to magnificent effect with great character/action imagery and vibrant colours. This poster doesn’t turn up in this high grade condition very often and like a lot of movie posters from the 80s very desirable & represents an outstanding example of original film movie memorabilia.
Note: This iconic poster was actually designed by the much respected artist Brian Bysouth and Robin Behling of Feref and was one of the first to be created using an early digital/photoshop process.
Trivia: Riding on the back of this film’s success, the U.S. Navy set up recruiting booths in the major cinemas to try and catch some of the adrenaline charged guys leaving the screenings. They had the highest applications rate for years as a result.

“The name Megatron was originally rejected by Hasbro for being too scary. Bob Budiansky, the writer tasked with naming the characters, argued that, as a villain, his name should be scary.”
Hasbro’s Transformers was one of the most popular animated TV shows and toy-lines of the 1980s. being so successful that it warranted a big screen, cinematic movie “Transformers: The Movie” and then forty years later a special cinema experience developed by Hasbro that combined key episodes and new features with the original voice actors for both Megatron (Frank Welker) and Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) was released in cinemas worldwide for a strictly limited three day screening run. With colourful and exciting action-packed poster artwork promising everything that the award winning fantasy cartoon TV series offered and more. These posters are extremely scarce with this originally rolled (as issued) example a marvellous item of retro nostalgia. Totally feel good, original cinematic movie memorabilia for a franchise and toy-line that has weathered the test of time with a series of reimagined big budget CGI Michael Bay blockbusters and is just as popular today as it was when first released.
Trivia: In 2006, Peter Cullen said, “I kind of modeled Optimus Prime’s voice out of many people I had known over the years, my family especially. My brother was a captain in the Marine Corps, and a very big hero in my life. His approach to serious situations was always calm and controlled [and] authoritative. So my brother is in there. Even my dad, too, [and] former friends who have now departed but are strong in my memory.” The voice has also been compared to that of John Wayne, but Cullen said, “John Wayne was never intended to be the sound, but he did come out every now and then.”
