“To know death, Otto, you have to f**k life…in the gall bladder!”
Although the Andy Warhol name is only referred to in the title for Paul Morrissey’s 1974 campy, shock horror “Andy Warhol’s Flesh for Frankenstein” it cannot be said that the accompanying front of house lobby cards (not by Warhol) for this Bryanston Pictures release are not artistically impressive with some stylish horror and character imagery. The card I chose to highlight the set is a fantastic homage to the gothic horror offerings of the past with a female and male ‘zombie’ creation by Baron Frankenstein. Any memorabilia with a Warhol connection is very collectable and this complete set of all eight (8) front of house lobby cards is no exception. Presented unrestored, in original fla/folded (as issued) condition this lovely set displays very well and represents a fine collection of original movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The film was shot with a 3D technique called Spacevision. Unlike other 3D films that usually required red and blue glasses, this one required polarized glasses with one lens slightly shifted, which allowed full colors in the film. The 3D effects were mostly pronounced in the center of the screen.

A clever, stylish design with FRANKENSTEIN apparently written in blood over an open cut then sewn together in thick black thread…certainly memorable. Any art or memorabilia with a Warhol connection is very collectable and this original 1974 US one sheet is no exception. Presented unrestored, in original folded (as issued) condition this lovely example displays very well and represents a fine piece of original movie memorabilia.

Legendary creator Brian Clemens writes and directs this stylish, revisionist Hammer Horror – pitting a swashbuckling hero (Horst Janson), his hunchbacked assistant (John Cater) and a feisty gypsy (Caroline Munro) ingenue against a cunning and malevolent vampire. 2025 sees the cult classic “Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter” makings its worldwide debut as a brand-new 4K restoration from the original negative film elements. The release was accompanied (with certain orders) by a highly exclusive, limited-edition Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter poster, masterfully illustrated world-renowned artist and horror maestro Graham Humphreys. Limited to just 70 meticulously crafted copies with the official Hammer certificate accompanying this poster number #31. Although officially a print run of 70, the number of actual posters surviving in very good or better condition is much, much less due to issues with damage caused by shipping. This piece is the ultimate collector’s item, capturing the legendary vampire slayer and his full supporting cast in stunning detail and vibrant colour. Hammer horror memorabilia is always popular and desirable and this original rolled (as issued) special British full size (30′ x 40′) quad is no exception that displays to beautiful effect.
Trivia: Although no further movies of Kronos were made, his adventures were continued in two comic books published 40 years apart. “The House of Hammer #1-3” (October 1976-January 1977) and “Captain Kronos – Vampire Hunter #1-4” (Titan Comics 2017).

“Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown.”
Roman Polanski’s “Chinatown” is one of cinemas finest detective movies accompanied by an incredible marketing campaign headed by Jim Pearsall in 1974. This multi-award winning film has been complemented by a series of alternative movie posters over the years with this most recent commission by Laurent Durieux is the best and destined as a future classic. Much like a fine wine Durieux’s art prints age very well, getting better and better with each viewing. and he has produced an outstanding addition to the title, truly eye-catching and super stylish. The deep, rich colours are predominantly blues and purples with ‘Chinatown’ printed in contrasting bright pink ink. Originally rolled (as issued) this signed and hand-numbered offering (#175/500) looks and displays to excellent effect with very minimal handling wear. An extremely scarce, selling out in near record time modern art print, collectable item of movie memorabilia from a true Hollywood classic.
Trivia: There is a rumour that this was the first part of a planned trilogy written by Robert Towne about J.J. “Jake” Gittes and Los Angeles. The second part, The Two Jakes (1990), was directed by Jack Nicholson. The supposed third part never existed, as later confirmed by the writer; however, certain elements and details of the story (a corrupt company called Cloverleaf tries to buy up all public transportation in order to replace it with freeways) would later end up in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), which was a film-noir spoof/homage of Chinatown.
The interesting thing about the trilogy concept is that they focused on the three things that were instrumental in making Los Angeles grow the way that it did, which is via the control of water, real estate, and transportation.

“What Do You Say To A Talking Bomb? All Systems Snafu!!!”
A very striking poster for John Carpenter’s cinematic debut feature “Dark Star” and a fantastic example of the supremely talented film poster artist Tom Chantrell – a master at illustrating anything aeronautical, outer space and especially space ships. And it’s an amazing illustration, if what rather serious; unusual as the movie has a largely comedic tone. This original “Dark Star” movie poster has it all; incredible graphics, great detail & amazing colours. It is very rare and one of the scarcest movie posters from the early 1970’s to find. The original, first release 1974 UK quad movie poster offered here is from the personal collection of the artist himself – Tom Chantrell and is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity signed by the Curators of his archive; Shirley Chantrell and Mike Bloomfield. Originally rolled (as issued) it is presented in high grade unrestored condition. This genuinely rare cult classic represents an extremely desirable and collectable piece of sci-fi cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Co-writer Dan O’Bannon later reused the “alien mascot” section of the film as the basis of a script he called ‘Star Beast’. Due to the low budget of “Dark Star,” the ‘alien’ was clearly a beach ball that could only be played for comedy, but O’Bannon felt that with a proper budget, the premise of an alien creature stalking the crew of a spaceship could work as a genuinely tense movie. As luck would have it, directors Alejandro Jodorowsky and Ridley Scott had both seen and liked “Dark Star,” and employed O’Bannon and designer Ron Cobb in projects that would finally lead to O’Bannon’s screenplay being filmed as Alien (1979).

“The world’s greatest villains have tried to kill James Bond…Now it’s Scaramanga’s turn to try !”
A truly exceptional complete set of all eight US lobby cards for the 1974 James Bond film “The Man With The Golden Gun”, produced for United Artists under the classic stewardship of Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman and director Guy Hamilton. Ian Fleming’s spy novel received the usual terrific treatment with the help of two beautiful Bond Girls, Britt Ekland and Maud Adams, and an incredibly dangerous villain, Scaramanga portrayed by Hammer Films “Dracula” star Christopher Lee. He is accompanied by one of the best Bond henchmen, diminutive Nick Nack as played by French actor Herve Villechaize. Stunning Far East location work in this effort includes Kowloon, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand and throw in a bit of martial arts (popular due to the huge success of “Enter The Dragon”) then you have not just your typical action-packed Bond spectacle but also an incredible series of Bond images. Originally flat and unfolded (as issued) these lobby cards display and present to superb effect. No pinholes, tears, rips or paper loss, just the very minimal of handling wear, this beautiful set represents a fantastic item of highly desirable 007 movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Travelling to Los Angeles for the Johnny Carson show to promote the film, Sir Christopher Lee had his golden gun confiscated by U.S. Customs.

“WHO WILL SURVIVE AND WHAT WILL BE LEFT OF THEM ?”
Described by The News of the World as the ‘sickest carnival of slaughter ever seen’...“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” has become one of the most debated films of all time bringing (at the time) nauseating, forceful horror to the screen with a focussed realism that was new to mainstream cinema. Arguments raged as most councils and cinemas across the country banned it’s release (The full fascinating story of the censorship battle is well worth checking out on the official BBFC website.) with only a handful of cinemas eventually bowing to public demand and showing the Film. Reimagined on an incredible scale and one of the most licensed titles for an alternative movie poster – it takes something special to stand out from the crowd and Graham Humphreys’ 2023 release certainly does that; horror art at its finest. Printed for Texas Frightmare Weekend and only available to purchase from the Mondo booth, this signed and hand-numbered (AP 28/30) artist proof print is an outstanding tribute to Tobe Hooper’s ground breaking movie, introducing one of the horror genre’s most iconic characters and a very rare and collectable alternative movie poster for perhaps the most influential cult horror film of the modern era…“There are moments when we cannot believe that what is happening is really true. Pinch yourself and you may find out that it is.”
Trivia: Ed Gein – on whom “Leatherface” was loosely based–was not a true serial killer, as he actually only killed two people, both of them women. He was however, a graverobber. He stole body parts–only female–from many different graves. He kept some of the parts in his refrigerator, and skinned one corpse and wore the skin as a dress.
