A beautiful alternative movie poster by Hero Complex Gallery SIGNED BY SIX OF THE CAST and featuring the incredible horror artwork of Vance Kelly for one of the best vampire films ever made…Joel Schumacher’s “The Lost Boys”. This 2018 hand-numbered (#61/325) limited edition release is a proper horror poster as leader of The Lost Boys – David (Kiefer Sutherland) is the main focus with his vampire family and would be vampire hunters blended into the background and printed using an incredible colour palette of blood reds inks. For a nice finishing flourish, Kelly has cleverly framed his subjects in a V (for vampire) design. Presented in excellent condition this rolled (as issued) example displays superbly and has been signed by six of the cast, who in addition to their name have added their character or a quote; Kiefer Sutherland – David, Jason Patric – Michael, Alex Winter – Marko, Billy Wirth – Dwayne, Tim Cappello (saxophone player) – I still believe is and G Tom Mac – Cry Little Sister. An impressive piece of horror poster artwork and is a hugely desirable alternative movie poster that with the addition of the signatures makes for an incredible piece of memorabilia. This is THE teenage angst vampire movie with this high grade poster showcasing the teen vampires in all their undead glory…“Something I never could stomach about Santa Carla, all the damn vampires!”

Reconstructed and restored with an additional 25 minutes Fritz Lang’s sci fi classic is truly deserving the accolade of a cinematic masterpiece. Originally rolled this looks spectacular and displays to impressive effect. Due to a very limited cinematic release (a small number of ‘art-house’ theatres) these examples are extremely scarce and sought after and represent a fine item of very collectable film movie memorabilia.

A classic and scarce original 2019 BFI 50th Anniversary 4K release British UK quad film poster for John Schlesinger’s multi Award winning “Midnight Cowboy”, still the only X-Rated movie to win an Oscar. It was nominated for seven and won three including Best Director for John Schlesinger which was an (then) unheard of return for an ‘X’ film. Beautiful distinctive character imagery; a great black & white character shot of ‘Ratso’ (Dustin Hoffman and ‘Joe’ (Jon Voight). Originally rolled (as issued) this example displays and presents to excellent effect with pure bright white background and crisp colour imagery. Showing in only a handful of independent and art-house cinemas the advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly hard to find with this fine example representing an impressive item of collectable original cinematic memorabilia.
Trivia: Dustin Hoffman kept pebbles in his shoe to ensure his limp would be consistent from shot to shot.

Jim and Brian Henson’s Muppets meet swash-buckling adventure in their 1996 movie adaption of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel “Muppets Treasure Island”. Artist Drew Struzan cleverly incorporates the live action actors into an excellent and colourful movie poster where they combine seamlessly with the true stars of the movie, the Muppets – Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Rizzo, Fozzie Bear. It’s an amazing looking poster, rolled (as issued) this lovely unrestored example presents to superb effect. Muppet movie memorabilia doesn’t get much better than this, from one of cinema’s most collectable and popular modern movie franchises.
Trivia: Kevin Bishop recalled that while filming the scene in the crow’s nest with Tim Curry, he said, “‘I mean be honest, Tim, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) – those fishnets – you’re never going to live those down, are you?” To which Curry responded, “Not as long as wankers like you keep bringing it up. You really are a sublime wanker, Kevin”. They would use the word sublime as a joke between them.

“After developing an addiction to the substance he uses to kill bugs, an exterminator accidentally kills his wife and becomes involved in a secret government plot being orchestrated by giant bugs in a port town in North Africa.”
“Naked Lunch” is cult Canadian director David Cronenberg‘s semi-adaptation of the celebrated American writer William S. Burroughs‘ novel of the same name. The book, which is a collection of vignettes with little in the way of connecting narrative, was written in 1959 and several attempts had been made over the years to try and adapt it for the screen. The structure of the book meant crafting a coherent plot was a tall order for any screenwriter, so Cronenberg decided to try a slightly different approach. The resultant film features scenes and characters from the vignettes but blends them with a semi-biographical look at the process Burroughs went through to write the original book, and includes incidents and characters (albeit renamed) from his experiences during the Beat Generation literary movement of the 1950s. This original 1991 UK quad poster features a unique to the British release design that includes a close-up photograph of Weller’s character William Lee above a centipede. With its distinctive, eye-catching imagery this rolled (as issued) example presents to superb effect, providing a high quality and scarce film poster from one of Cinema’s most revered cult directors.
Trivia: The shooting of the author’s wife is not a fictional incident. Source novelist William S. Burroughs did indeed accidentally shoot his wife Joan in the head in 1951 in Mexico in a “William Tell” stunt that went disastrously wrong. Mexican law at the time meant that Burroughs only served thirteen days in prison for killing his wife.

“If it doesn’t scare you, you’re already dead!”
In 2022 George A. Romero’s zombie classic “Night of the Living Dead”, received an extremely limited release exclusively in certain Japanese cinemas. Designed using zombie footage from the movie their were two poster designs, black, white and lurid green imagery with either a grey or green sky printed to accompany the screenings. Both are particularly haunting with a very retro feel. These country unique, Japanese B2 posters are extremely eye-catching and presented in excellent unrestored, originally rolled (as issued) condition. Incredibly scarce horror artwork and a very rare highly desirable example of cinema memorabilia from perhaps the most influential horror film of the modern era. Both colour styles are equally rare with this example being the ‘green’ sky version.

The BFI screenings charts how the monsters of horror have evolved, made physical the anxieties of their times, and how we react when faced with the monster within. The season ran from October 2022 to December 2022 with the series horror movies screened at the BFI Southbank and at special one-off special events nationwide. Any posters from this unique season of films are incredibly scarce with paper for the ‘bigger’ (they don’t get much bigger than “Night of the Living Dead”) titles extremely desirable. Designed using zombie silhouettes as they attack the hero – Duane Jones the UK quad promoting the NOTLD screening is a great looking horror poster, from the green title and detailing to the black and white imagery. This event and country unique UK quad is presented in excellent unrestored, originally rolled (as issued) condition. Incredibly scarce horror artwork and a very rare highly desirable example of cinema memorabilia from perhaps the most influential horror film of the modern era.

Tim Burton seems like the only being on the planet who could come with characters such as the ones found in “The Nightmare Before Christmas” The feature is literally a tale likely to be found in a child’s dreams It creates a world of its own, inhabiting unforgettable characters, events that should be shared with generations This film is a visual masterpiece; a movie that deserves its reputation as a timeless “Burtonesque” classic. This original cartoon style 1993 British quad poster perfectly captures all of Burton’s stylish elements. Eye-catching animated imagery and a stunning design for this rather unusual Disney production . This superb rolled (as issued) example looks beautiful and displays to marvellous effect, representing a a fantastic piece of original movie memorabilia for an innovative and popular film maker.

There is no doubting the cinematic and cultural influence and impact of Quentin Tarantino with his ninth feature “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” as he presents his own unique take on the end of ‘Hollywood’s Golden Age’ as the notorious Manson Family murders spelt the end of the hippie era of ‘Peace & Love’. With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the selection process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. Tarantino hired three classic poster artists (Steven Chorney, Martin Duhovic, and Renato Casaro, who Tarantino had to coax out of retirement) to create four great wilding posters that are ‘faux’ posters, designed to look like they were from a movie that the lead character (Rick Dalton) had made in the 1970s. This particular poster was designed by Renato Casaro for the faux western movie “Uccidimi Subito Ringo, disse il Gringo” and looks magnificent in this large format. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker… “Hey! You’re Rick fucking Dalton, don’t you forget it.”
Trivia: Tarantino described Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt as “the most exciting star dynamic duo since Robert Redford and Paul Newman.”
