Hasbro’s Transformers was one of the most popular animated TV shows  and toy-lines of the 1980s. being so successful that it warranted a big screen, cinematic movie “Transformers: The Movie”. The transforming robot animated film features voices from Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy, Orson Welles and Monty Python’s Eric Idle with colourful and exciting action-packed poster artwork promising everything that the award winning fantasy cartoon TV series offered and more. Presented conservation linen backed and displaying to fine effect this originally rolled (as issued) example is a marvellous item of 1980’s nostalgia. Totally feel good, original cinematic movie memorabilia for a franchise and toy-line that has weathered the test of time with a series of reimagined big budget CGI Michael Bay blockbusters and is just as popular today as it was when first released. “Megatron must be stopped… no matter the cost”

Trivia: In a bizarre kind of way, this could be said that the Decepticon ‘Shockwave’ appeared in two movies in 1986, the other being Aliens (1986). In the MedLab scene, just before Ripley reaches out to hug Newt after setting off the fire alarm, there is a futuristic piece of medical apparatus with three objects handing down off of it that can be briefly seen in the foreground. These objects are actually three Transformers toys, namely the Decepticon ‘Shockwave’ made by Hasbro in 1985. The toys have been spray-painted a dull silver colour and are displayed in their laser gun ‘mode’, but with each of the robot toy’s arms (i.e. the laser gun’s barrel) split apart
