The Birds

“Nothing You Have Ever Witnessed Before Has Prepared You for Such Sheer Stabbing Shock !”

One of the best films of its type and certainly one of Hitchcock’s finest productions…“The Birds” is a film I’ve seen more times than I care to remember and could happily sit through whenever it’s shown. The perfect mix of mystery, horror and sci fi it is rightly regarded as a classic. Any paper from the movie is genuinely scarce with the Japanese Two-Panel ‘tatekan’ from the 1972 release one of the hardest to find. A combination of the original 1963 artwork & more importantly an excellent rendition of Hitchcock makes for a great looking film poster film in a design that is unique to Japan. Originally flat/unfolded (as issued) this beautiful unrestored example displays to excellent effect and is currently presented in two sections as distributed to Japanese cinemas/theaters…Sought after and extremely hard to find in this high grade original condition it represents a fine piece of very collectible Alfred Hitchcock movie memorabilia.

Trivia: The scene where Melanie (Tippi Hedren) is ravaged by birds near the end of the movie took a week to shoot. The birds were attached to her clothes by long nylon threads so they could not get away.
