Grand Prix Movie Poster

“CINERAMA sweeps YOU into a drama of speed and spectacle !”

Incredibly rare original 1967 “Grand Prix” front of house lobby card. This lovely original US lobby card No.3 features a great image of not only the stars James Garner with Eva Marie Saint ( Jack Watson is the other driver in the background) but also captures the beauty of Formula One racing cars in the late 1960’s. A really good looking image from this classic motor racing movie. Originally flat/unfolded (as issued) this fine example presents very well; Genuinely scarce and becoming very hard to find, paper from this iconic and much admired motor sports film represents highly desirable, collectable movie and motor racing memorabilia.

Trivia: A young George Lucas participated in this film. It clearly had an impact in many ways. It will be noticed that the formula one racers did not have any rear cowling and the backs of the engines were exposed. If Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) fans were wondering why the backs of the X wing fighters were not sleek but had exposed mechanical elements, this was directly inspired by formula one. One can easily imagine Lucas experiencing these machines roaring past at high speed and picturing them as being space fighters.
