After making his buddy cop hit “48 Hours” Walter Hill directed a film that was inspired by the movies he grew up on. It was a wild homage filled with the kinds of images and themes he loved most about those movies such as: “custom cars, kissing in the rain, neon, trains in the night, high-speed pursuit, rumbles, rock stars, motorcycles, jokes in tough situations, leather jackets and questions of honor.” What Hill created was “Streets of Fire” (1984) a 1980’s meets retro 1950’s musical-action-crime-comedy B-movie epic. The film stars Michael Pare as Tom Cody an ex-soldier who returns to his home to rescue his ex-girlfriend, a singer named Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) from the clutches of evil biker gang leader Raven Shaddock (Willem Dafoe). The music (heavily influenced by Meatloaf’s guru Jim Steinman) featured in the film also reflected the odd 1950’s meets the 1980’s backdrop with its diverse rockabilly, doo-wop, blues and New Wave sounds…Even though “Streets of Fire” didn’t do well when it was released, over the years it has developed a cult following because of its unique qualities. The colourful eye catching poster art by Riehm for the film reflects the furiously stylised aesthetic that was used to tell the rock n’ roll fable of love ! Trivia: The car that Cody (Michael Pare) drives in the movie is a 1951 Mercury that was chopped, channelled, nosed, and decked.

“Bolt Your Doors. Lock Your Windows. There’s something in The Fog !”
After the huge success of Halloween John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally creepy horror The Fog. Taking creepy imagery from the movie the US one-sheet features silhouetted zombie pirates in a ‘fog’ filed room. The original movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1980 and displays to excellent effect. Originally folded (as issued) it is presented in unrestored condition with only minimal handling wear. Great horror imagery on a genuinely rare cult classic from the Carpenter archives that represents extremely desirable and collectable movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Although this was essentially a low budget independent movie, John Carpenter chose to shoot the movie in anamorphic widescreen Panavision. This decision gave the movie a grander feel for the viewer so this didn’t seem like a low budget horror movie.

“Bolt Your Doors. Lock Your Windows. There’s something in The Fog !”
After the huge success of “Halloween” John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally memorable horror “The Fog” – a guilty pleasure film of mine as I love how well Carpenter develops the tension and tells the story with great cinematography, sound, and use of locations. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so it was no surprise that this title was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “They Live”, “Escape From New York” and “Prince of Darkness”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 224. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.

With a design by Kellerhouse Inc this 2009 example features a distinctive and impressive design and like all other paper for this title they are very rare…This originally rolled example presents as new…Generally acknowledged as one of the best designed movie poster’s in recent years.
Trivia: “Girlfriend experience” is a form of sex work (paid-for female companionship) in which a female prostitute behaves like a male client’s girlfriend or shows (artificial) emotional intimacy beyond the sex act.

“They called him “Fast Eddie”… He was a winner… He was a loser… He was a hustler.”
Rarely is a reissue poster more highly treasured than the original release, but this is – “The Hustler” one-sheet is one such title. When this movie was first released, the studio seemed to want to hide that it was about “pool hustling”, and it was sold as being a romance, and there was little to no mention (or images) of pool on any of the first release 1961 posters. But when the movie was quickly re-released three years later in 1964, it had become an Academy Award winning classic, and learning from their mistakes, the new marketing campaign featured a striking stylised design – a pool cue with images of the actors within billiard balls set against a green baize background. An absolute must-have example with an iconic design and use of bold colours which literally do ‘pop’ out from the paper of this stunning original country of origin American poster. Originally folded (as issued) the example offered here has been professionally conservation linen backed to a very high standard and appears rolled. It represents a hugely collectable and desirable example of cinema movie memorabilia for one of the defining sports based movies ever made. A truly classic movie and poster.
Trivia: All the pool shots in the movie are performed by the actors themselves (Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason) except one: the massé shot (cue ball sends two object balls into the same pocket), performed by Willie Mosconi.

An amazing, colourful, full of fun film poster from first year of release 1999 for Brad Bird’s giant alien robot animated adventure “The Iron Giant”. This really is stunning, retro styling and beautiful rich blue/green colour tones, this country of origin US one sheet is the incredibly scarce International version. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents and displays to excellent effect. Perfectly designed to suit the portrait layout of a one sheet it certainly impresses and represents a great looking, cleverly imagined piece of original movie memorabilia…“For the child in all of us ?”
Trivia: The Iron Giant and Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy are both voiced by Vin Diesel and, in both times, the sound technician that worked on it was Doc Kane. Both characters end up sacrificing themselves, but are ultimately resurrected.

On its release at the dawn of a new Millenia the Wachowski Brother’s ground breaking science fiction blockbuster “The Matrix” influenced everything from fashion, technology, how movies are made and introducing us to…Bullet-Time. This 2025 alternative movie poster by Pablo Olivera is an outstanding re-design that takes you to the heart of the matrix with its wealth of lore and symbology from the mega-hit, Pablo’s print is a thrilling look back at the film’s imagery and themes – “You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”. It is a fine art giclee print where the colours literally pop from the paper and one of best examples I have seen that uses this printing process – the colours, in this case neon pinks, purples and blues are incredibly rich giving a true hand painted effect. This Purple Variant edition has been Hand-Numbered #11/75 that represents a cool looking film poster from a “game-changing” movie. A true modern classic that displays superbly and is presented in excellent rolled condition.
Trivia: All scenes that take place within the Matrix have a green tint, as if watching them through a computer monitor. Scenes in the real world have a blue tint. Blue was also used at a minimum within the Matrix, since the directors thought blue was more of a real-world color (despite, ironically, blue being often the least-occurring color in nature). The fight scene between Morpheus and Neo, which is neither in the real world, nor in the Matrix, is tinted yellow.

A stunning and memorable original 1977 US one sheet movie poster for Edgar Rice Burroughs’ direct sequel to the successful “The Land That Time Forgot”. Originally folded (as issued) this totally unrestored example has stood the test of time very well and displays to excellent effect and represents a fantastic piece of rare original film memorabilia from a much loved series of fantasy adventure films.
