“The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” is most certainly an unusual film. It’s something of a collage of colorful imagery, fragmented shots, quirky music, strange characters, bizarre situations, and amusing montages. But if you had seen Wes Anderson’s previous films, you would expect nothing less.“The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” was a cult success on its release with Anderson’s loyal fanbase hailing another solid cinematic offering. Only having a very limited run and showing in a small number of (largely ‘art-house’ or ‘independent’) cinemas any paper from the Film is scarce and in very short supply, making this originally rolled (as issued) one-sheet from 2004 a really great find. Designed by award winning creative arts agency BLT Communications LLC this looks and displays to excellent effect and represents an extremely hard yo find, modern original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly talented writer / director.
Trivia: The red woolen caps worn by the characters are a reference to Jacques-Yves Cousteau, famed underwater film-maker and co-inventor of the modern aqualung.

Striking and very modern design (for the late 1960’s) for the Frank Sinatra produced (he also starred) political thriller “The Naked Runner”. Filmed largely in England and Europe the movie has a great 60’s vibe and was very under-rated on its release. The paper produced to accompany the release is all of the highest quality and different for each country, with the country of origin (US) one sheet being particularly memorable (although Nistri’s art for theItalian release is one of the best images of Sinatra you will find). Offered here is an original US one sheet movie poster from first year of release 1967, originally folded (as issued) it displays and presents very well with minor handling & age wear. A fantastic looking and very collectable piece of genuine movie memorabilia from one of entertainments biggest stars.

“Mysterious deaths surround an American ambassador. Could the child that he is raising actually be the Antichrist? The Devil’s own son?”
With an iconic design by Tom Jung this advance UK quad for Richard Donner’s 1976 horror classic “The Omen” is an impressive example of horror art that also benefits from being signed by the Anti-Christ himself – HARVEY STEPHENS; a beautiful clear signature that includes his character name – DAMIEN where he has cleverly incorporated the number of the Beast 666 into the capital letter D of his name. All written in a silver pen that contrasts incredibly strongly against the black background. The ominous wording YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED and the film’s title (blood red lettering) are written in the distinctive style synonymous with this now classic horror. It’s such a simple text based design but so, so clever and perfectly suited to the landscape format of the British quad offered here. From first year of release, 1976 this folded (as issued) example presents to very good effect. A personal favourite and an impressive item of original cinematic movie memorabilia from one of the defining horror movie’s of the genre that carries the mark of the Devil’s son himself.
Trivia: Harvey Stephens, as Damien, was largely chosen for this role from the way he attacked Richard Donner during auditions. Donner asked all the little boys to “come at him” as if they were attacking Katherine Thorn during the church wedding scene. Stephens screamed and clawed at Donner’s face, and kicked him in the groin during his act. Donner whipped the kid off him, ordered the kid’s blond hair dyed black and cast him as Damien.

“The Terrible Northmen…Sailing on Dragon Ships Like Serpents on the Sea! Shouting a Battle-Cry to Their Awesome God of War, Odin!”.
A personal favourite and up there for me with “Jason and the Argonauts” as one of the greatest (and most colourful) action, adventure movies of all-time, with both boasting a superb poster and hat statement is illustrated here with a magnificent, original 1958 UK Quad movie poster for Richard Fleischer’s “The Vikings”. Originally folded (as issued) this beautiful poster displays to very good effect with vibrant, deep, unfaded colours and fantastic imagery of the two stars Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis. Rarely available with this being the first time we have ever offered one for sale, it represents a fine example of cinematic movie memorabilia and one of the best looking and most collectable film posters from the genre.
Trivia: Stuntmen had practiced for weeks for the oar walking scenes. Kirk Douglas told director Richard Fleischer that he could do it and did several times. At one point when he did fall in the icy water he calmly swam over to the camera boat and asked if they had gotten good shots. He then swam back to the Viking longboat. Fleischer noted they were watching and filming an activity that had not been done in 1000 years.
